  1. The variants have different types of police equipment. For example, 7.4U is going to be slicktop or unmarked, K9 at the end means it's modeled as a K9 unit (including a model of a dog, which is a pretty cool detail), etc. Since rambar and lighting are the most visible parts, you should probably look there first. The version number only comes into play if the cars are exactly the same otherwise.
  2. Oh, I thought you were making a joke about the GPM link. Missed the part about "in your sig".
  3. Chargers: http://www.gtapolicemods.com/index.php?/files/file/919-fbi-dodge-charger-numb3rs-chgr-fbi-v23-ac/ http://www.gtapolicemods.com/index.php?/files/file/885-dodge-charger-lapd-unmarked/ http://www.gtapolicemods.com/index.php?/files/file/713-dodge-charger-slicktop-v18-els/ http://www.gtapolicemods.com/index.php?/files/file/691-dodge-charger-unmarked-els/ The helicopter is the Annihilator.
  4. Yep. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bump_mapping - general concept; has some nice pictures to illustrate.
  5. v5: http://www.gtapolicemods.com/index.php?/files/file/197-els-emergency-lighting-system-v5/ v6: http://www.gtapolicemods.com/index.php?/files/file/198-els-emergency-lighting-system-v6/ The second 2 cars I posted don't use ELS.
  6. Does anyone know why the url for the forum is lcpdfr.com/cops, instead of just lcpdfr.com?
  7. http://www.gtapolicemods.com/index.php?/files/file/538-2006-chevrolet-suburban-police-unmarked-v13uc-els/ http://www.gtapolicemods.com/index.php?/files/file/1151-2008-chevrolet-silverado-1500-umarked/ Both of them have a lot of lights (Bxbugs cars), but it's an undercover Silverado and Suburban. Non-ELS stuff: http://www.gtagaming.com/downloads/gta-iv/vehicle-mods/6636 (a Suburban) http://www.gtagaming.com/downloads/gta-iv/vehicle-mods/2836 (a GTA pickup truck w/only 4 emergency lights) Make sure you don't just import the files; select the files for the car you want to replace and hit "Replace". To edit handling, open handling.dat in the common/data folder (open with a text editor). There are a ton of comments at the beginning describing to some extent what the values do, and then a line for each vehicle. Find the line starting with the name of the car you're replacing, and edit that line. I can't give you much help on which columns to change and how; I would try to find the columns with something closest to "torque" or "acceleration", but I don't know enough about cars to know what some columns do.
  8. The speed is just the handling line, which is completely separate from the car. And what do you mean by "badass"? Any types of car you're looking at?
  9. I wonder if that would work, though? Adding it to an episodic weapons slot, setting damage to 0, and making the script listen to clicks or even "T" and seeing if it was equipped.
  10. Based on your signature, is there now an actual Taser weapon (as in, not part of the pistol)? If so, what slot is it in?
  11. Oh yeah... If you can easily add new heads, can you add the "white cop" head from Custo's mod (/the TLAD prison guards)? It'd be nice to get the white cop w/out losing short sleeves.
  12. :O If possible, can you make the new stuff a different texture, and keep the original mapping on the shirt and pants? It'd be nice to be able to use other uniform mods.
  13. That's not quite right. It's not right at all, actually. The Constitution IS the law, and the government can't violate it. Ever. Now, there are exceptions to everything in the Bill of Rights (classic example: you can't shout "Fire" in a crowded theater if you know there isn't one). For protests, it has been ruled you can regulate where, when, and how they can be done. This doesn't mean you can control what they say; the regulations have to be the same for everyone, and are usually pretty permissive (police will often even close off streets, as long as you have a permit). That is why they are clearing people out - they are breaking the restrictions on where and when they can protest.
  14. There may be animations from cutscenes that could work (I'm pretty sure R* puts more detail into those, though they may be weird with ingame models).
  15. Zero chance of children in open-world gameplay. R* can't let players ever even appear to harm children. Maybe in cutscenes, but unlikely (probably can't have any big role, and not much point in modeling them if they have almost no role).
  16. I often just ignore them. There are too many to deal with.
  17. The best part of the trailer: COLOR!!! Seriously, while GTA IV is a mostly gray, drab, "realistic" city, this seems to be colorful and vibrant. Interestingly, the black and white cruisers seem more colorful than cruisers with blue (an actual color).
  18. It's not JUST based off LA. Why, exactly, would it need to be restricted to one city? People have also reported (as in real magazines, claiming to have info from R*) that it is in all of SA. That INCLUDES Los Santos (= LA Expy). It ALSO has San Fierro (=San Fran), and Las Venturas (=Vegas).
  19. One nice thing is if they would have better emergency lighting (yes, I recognize it is not going to be much better after I saw the trailer). They should use something like Saint's Row 2 lighting instead.
  20. The cop in the middle looks different in a couple of ways: 1. At first glance, at least, looked maybe female. Definitely much more variation however you cut it. 2. Are those stripes on the sleeve? Oh, and the lighting looked more like the whole lightbar was flashing (so more ELS-y, not just the "soft" default lights)
  21. For the dog, it is possible that there may be animals in cutscenes. I would be EXTREMELY surprised if it was seen outside cutscenes.
  22. Cool! I just tried it out, and I think I will start using it! If this could be integrated w/LCPDFR, that would be awesome. We could even maybe type out reports on the computer.
