IIRC, he was a tester before he was a mod for exactly this reason. EDIT: Also, I always just think of it as a hierarchy. Tester - Tests the mod; can submit bug reports that are taken more seriously. Community Team - Moderator; makes sure everything functions smoothly; also gets to test (I'm pretty sure testers are expected to do some amount of serious testing [which is actually work], I'm not sure if mods have to) Development Team - Admin; codes mod; also handles website admin tasks (mostly Jay); moderates; also tests (I assume, b/c you guys have the actual most recent version that you just compiled)

Yeah, you use OpenIV to add them. The pack includes files called newveh.ide, newhandling.dat, and newveh.img; that makes it easier to tell what's native and what's not.

It works in IV; I've done it. EDIT: And you can add any new car you want to IV. There are a LOT of .dat edits, though; the link has instructions for all of them (off the top of my head: carcols, vehicles.ide, cargrps, handling; the link uses new files for vehicles.ide and handling, and changes other files to make it work). And, to spawn them, you need to use SNT (in "car spawning" menu, choose "spawn by modelname" and type your model name). TL;DR: It's possible; just follow the instructions in the link.

Not quite true. In GTA IV, you can add a car to police3, police4, and policeb, and the game will give it lights and sirens. police3 and police4 will also make cars pull over (policeb won't). So police3 and police4 are recognized as police cars. ELS will also work on those slots. But they won't patrol the streets; you need to spawn them with SNT. EDIT: GPM has this, which will put a car in police3. You can then replace it with whatever you want (the included car is the BOGT Buffalo).

CJ: When I was testing the new Enforcer, I spawned some bodyguards through SNT (6.4) and noticed that they would not stay inside. When I got in, they got in, and then got out immediately, and then got in, ad infinitum. This didn't show up on other cars. Any idea why? BTW: There is something weird with the mappint of the top. I was trying to make a white roof and an all-black hood, but it seemed to want to make the base of the hood the same color as the edge of the roof. Any workarounds?

Interesting. I use GIMP, also because it's free. I've tried Photoshop (installed on school computers), and didn't like it nearly as much.

There are also a couple more factors as far as car mods go: SA can use 3ds max, which is MUCH more common than ZModeler for games (In fact, I am pretty sure that Rockstar used 3ds max for pretty much all GTA models, and just exported in a specialized format; it is incredibly common in industry). I'm pretty sure that SA models can't be locked, so you can base a mod off another mod more easily. OTOH, there is no LCPDFR for SA, so there's that.

GPM isn't down for me. I was IP banned a week or so ago, but an email to support cleared that up. Old links to stuff won't work since they changed the forum software. If you can access GPM, just go to Downloads, GTA IV, Developer, Luxart, Vehicles, and look at all the Crown Vics until you find the right one. You need to link your game to your account. Rerun the LCPDFR installer and say to link the game to your account.
