  1. Can you have a simple demo so we could just see what it is like before signing up? For example, how community-based is it (do you work with the other people who sign up?)
  2. Anyway, this may be moot in about 3 hours, so lets stop this. JACK: Sorry for my tone in these responses, I was just kinda annoyed at other things and it spilled over.
  3. Or, is the countdown timer a move to new servers that don't go down semifrequently?
  4. And the thread I referenced ALREADY EXISTS. Seriously. Also, have you considered that they took off the "new topic" button to STOP new requests? They didn't mean "Okay, post in year-old threads instead."
  5. Yeah, but my point about the roadblocks was that this thread exists. Try posting your ideas there instead of threads that you revived from a year ago.
  6. The devs need to spend a lot of time making sure the stuff they add works (that's why it's been in beta for months). If a lot of people like a suggestion, it may be worth the time to implement. However, I'm pretty sure the "have AI drive down the road and crash into the suspect" idea would only be used by you (not that I don't crash head-on into the suspect myself sometimes, but that's just me). Roadblocks already have an ENTIRE THREAD devoted to them. That would be a much more productive place to post those ideas.
  7. All black like undercover, or a design with black instead of white or black and white? If the second, hopefully the texture is transparent (except for the hood and trunk for black+white). If so, use a photo editing program like GIMP or Photoshop and add a black layer underneath. If not, it's complicated.
  8. There should also be Armed Robbery and Drug Deal (and maybe a couple more), but yeah, there are very few callout types.
  9. There are non-ELS MX-7000 CVPIs on GPM (in Luxart's section). The downside is they have the siren in the middle, and aren't the most modern version, but they are still not ridiculous for LAPD.
  10. OK. I thought I saw somewhere that the devs were looking into it, but I guess it is not easily available.
  11. What? How...what kind of place do you buy keyboards?
  12. Is there a way to inject textures? (sorry if this is considered threadjacking)
  13. Out of curiosity, what DLL are you trying to inject?
  14. 1. On the GTAForums thread for Scripthook.NET, the download includes a DLL you can use as a reference in your project (to compile against). I don't know if the 1.7.1.4 (LCPDFR version) download is still there, and there are some things that are added in the newest version. I just use 1.7.1.7 and deal with LCPDFR errors, but it would probably be best to use the LCPDFR version if you can get the dll. To write scripts, I use Visual Studio 2010. It is the recommended version for .NET scripts. If you don't have it, there is a free version called VS2010 C# Express. 2. I use C#, because I am more comfortable with its syntax. Also, there is an IRC channel on freenode (#gtaivnetscripthook) that provides C# support for SHDN.
  15. So you installed GTA IV on a clean system, patched it, and ran the LCPDFR installer, nothing else, right?
  16. If you use the SNT menu to disable bindings, make sure to find the "Save settings" option and save your change. That way, you don't need to disable bindings each time you run the game. If you disable directly in the file, it is already saved (obviously).
  17. Which version of LCPDFR do you use? If it is .95, no support.
  18. Not decompiling; my observation with that was that I could see what methods were offered (not how they were done) (and that shows up just when including in VS2010) But I agree that it is not very nice w/o permission, and obviously shouldn't work anyway (again, stable versions are obfusucated) EDIT: The reason I was asking about C# stuff is b/c I know C# but not LUA
  19. I am trying to write a personal script for car towing, and I was wondering if there was a way to have it interact with LCPDFR. The main thing I would want to do is check on-duty status, but I was wondering in general if there was a way to access LCPDFR things from other scripts. One thing I did notice was that 0.95 beta is not fully obfusucated (things like LCPDFR.Arrest show up in debug), but I assume that that will be fixed in the version that is not leaked.
  20. Is it possible to make a "stealth" version, with no lightbar or pushrods?
  21. Word is probably not the best text editor. If you do use it, MAKE SURE that you are saving in PLAIN TEXT format. DOC and DOCX files will not work, and will crash your game on load. It is probably best to use a purpose-made text editor (like Notepad or Notepad++). Again, save it in TXT format, then rename and replace.
  22. An issue with car mods is that they are far more detailed than anything GTA is designed to use. If you want, there is a police admiral mod in Media, but not downloads (for some reason). That looks more like a CVPI but is still low poly. Anyway, the taxi bug is caused because of any high poly car mods of any sort. This comes up a lot here, which is why people get so annoyed.
  23. When I activate a lighting mode and pull someone over, there is no sound emitted, and ELS sirens don't work. Is there a fix?
  24. Probably not (I know he retired from GPM administration, so I think he left modding). However, you can change the siren key in ELS.ini to anything you want (I use R), and then that will work on any ELS vehicle. The only downside is cars don't pull over.
