Old website
I think they weren't there once or twice, but yeah. Them being on the homepage is part of the reason for stricter moderation of them (and the entire reason for the 5-pictures-in-30-minutes rule).

You do realize that the latest gallery pictures were at the top of the old site too, right?

GTA V Sheriff SUV Texture not changing!
By "what version," I mean "Steam or non-Steam?"

GTA V Sheriff SUV Texture not changing!
What file did you change it in? And what version of the game do you have?

gta v modding
And yet, it looks like a lot of real police cars. In fact, the minimalist LA system is *uncommon*; most black and whites have POLICE in large text; the only difference from that is the city name and/or a badge and/or patch.

Seriously, what is wrong with that car? It's a perfectly normal police livery.

Ill-Gotten Gains Update and Modding
This was a patch. I'm not sure why you make a distinction between patches and updates; an update is just a patch that adds significant new content.

Should Profanity be Prohibited on the Forum?
Except not even remotely. A largely-ineffective system is not, in fact, necessarily better than nothing. "This isn't perfect, so let's not do it" isn't a valid argument, but neither is "'this isn't perfect, so let's not do it' isn't a valid argument, therefore something not doing much to solve a problem doesn't mean we shouldn't implement it." It is absolutely a valid argument to say "this doesn't help much, so we shouldn't bother to implement it." In actual fact, a profanity filter provides very little regulation of language if it lets you get around it by simply adding a letter before or after; if we want to tell people profanity isn't allowed, we can do that by actually telling them it isn't allowed and enforcing profanity rules.

The Final Countdown - LSPDFR Trailer 2
When accusing people of lying, it would be better if you'd do even the teeniest bit of research, which would tell you that Microsoft has a public beta/preview version out; getting it just requires signing up for it with a Microsoft account. Beyond that, Microsoft does have a program that gives developers broader access to prereleases; it's called an MSDN subscription, and it gives access to large amounts of Microsoft software, from versions too old to even be supported for customer use anymore to some prereleases of new stuff.

United States Army Website Hacked!
To quote XKCD: Taking down a website is not really a very big deal. Even if it was broken into, as l3ubba said the DoD has several separate networks, not connected to each other. I suspect army.mil is in fact on none of those, because there's no reason to have it on any of the DoD's operations networks.

Should Profanity be Prohibited on the Forum?
Sorry, but that just makes filters incredibly monkeyfucking easy to get around.

Should Profanity be Prohibited on the Forum?
Also, software efforts result in the Scunthorpe problem, where perfectly legitimate words are blocked for containing profanity as substrings.

Ill-Gotten Gains Update and Modding
Speaking as someone who has had serious bugs be fixed by previous GTA V updates, I really can't get into the spirit of the "Rockstar shouldn't patch their game." Look at the patch notes; there are a lot of fixes, many of which do not appear to be Online-specific.

Hilarious Border Checkpoint refusal video
I didn't see that it wasn't an international border. My bad.

Hilarious Border Checkpoint refusal video
Actually, this has nothing to do with the TSA or freedom vs. security. The border search exception is primarily for customs and immigration (i.e. regulating the flow of people and goods through international borders); TSA and customs are completely separate entities with different procedures, different laws, different functions, and different goals. TSA searches are consensual, because you can always choose to avoid them by traveling some other way besides flying. Border searches can be imposed even if there's no way to avoid them when entering the country (and US citizens always have a right to enter the US).

Both (in fact, it frequently applies when there is no "your vehicle," because the exception also holds at international airports since they're effectively the same as an international border). It only covers routine searches, though -- customs can't strip-search you because you talked back to them and justify it as a border search, nor can they rip the floormat off your car and justify it as a border search (both those need probable cause and/or a warrant).

Nope, nope, nope. There are a number of exceptions to the Fourth Amendment. One exception is for border searches; customs has the authority to do routine searches without warrant or any cause for suspicion whatsoever at an international border. There are others, like searches incident to arrest, exigent circumstances (which includes Terry stops), and objects in plain view.

Is this lightbar exist in NYPD?
That's actually the old vehicles, as it's the old Vision (actually, the Vision SL, which flashes instead of spinning). The new ones have the Vision SLR, which (while an LED lightbar) uses rotating lights. NYPD just about always uses a Vision variant; the Vision is the higher-end version of the Vector.

Changing the Police Interceptor Texture
There is no way to make a good changed skin. The left side and right side will always be identical, and by "identical" I mean "if you put something on the front door on the left side (so if you're looking at the left of the car it's on the left side), then it'll be on the rear door on the right side (because again, if you're looking at the right of the car it's on your left side.)". So, you can make the side completely blank, or can replace POLICE with a word/design of your choice that looks good when spread across both doors the same way on each side of the car. I recommend learning to live with the livery; it's seriously not that bad a design, and plenty of real departments use exactly that kind of livery.

Patriot Act About to Expire
Small sheriffs' departments aren't supposed to deal with international terrorist organizations (which does not include Boko Haram, which is a Nigerian rebel organization that does not commit acts of terror in other countries because that has nothing to do with their goal). That's the FBI's job. Nor were they ever capable of doing anything against terrorist organizations. Nor do they even have officers assigned to deal with international terrorists, because small sheriffs' offices have in the single or double digit numbers of deputies, and their deputies are assigned to deal with the actual crimes that happen in those counties (which notably do *not* include attacks by international terrorists as a rule, since places like Poweshiek County, Iowa have nothing of interest to international terrorist groups, being small, rural, and with nothing interesting or generally newsworthy in them). The USA PATRIOT act, like every law passed right after a major abnormal event, is poorly thought-out. It is an insane overreaction to incredibly rare situations. The fact that it was passed to prevent acts of terror doesn't mean it's a good law, or that it does its job, or that it balances security with reasonable limits on government power. For instance, it allows issuing warrants where the person with the warrant served doesn't even know they had a warrant served against them, and allows secret courts to issue secret orders to wiretap a US citizen without meaningful chance for review. It allows the FBI (not even the secret court) to demand records about you and keep the person they demanded records from from telling anyone except their lawyer. It allows US foreign intelligence agencies to investigate regular domestic criminal cases. Many of these things have been used in normal criminal cases (like drug cases), for which there's not even "but terrorism!" aspect to it.

That's LCPDFR. LSPDFR may not have that yet; it took a long time to get it for LCPDFR.

Why do people diss IV since V
The fact that V wouldn't have happened without IV doesn't make IV a good game. Terminator wouldn't have happened without Piranha 2: The Spawning. That doesn't make Piranha 2 not a terrible movie.
