  1. What do you mean? If you just mean "rear lighting", the tail/brake lights are a wig-wag and those dark red squares are lights (they flash together instead of alternately).
  2. If you feel that this topic has been pinned in error, please report this post.
  3. You can't open YMTs yet; you'd have to just copy it. Since I think the YMT is the same for the ped and their props, I don't think there's a way to do this yet.
  4. This topic has been moved to the appropriate forum. Please post in the correct location in the future.
  5. IIRC, you can put it in any later DLC folder as well.
  6. AFAIK, its soemthing in the ped's YMT file. Did you copy the ranger YMT?
  7. Try without all those plugins and see if the issue persists.
  8. cp702 posted a gallery image in GTA V Galleries
  9. Also, keep in mind that low LODs don't have to look *good*. L1 should be good (it's also used for damage rendering), but past that it can look worse. The game's default low-LOD stuff looks pretty awful, but that's because it's not meant to be seen up close.
  10. As people have said, we are not currently discussing release dates. If you feel this topic has been closed in error, please report this post.
  11. After a couple tries to figure out a decent configuration (todo: add a toolbox to the cargo area, work on other LODs, template):
  12. Normally, more polygons allow higher-fidelity reproduction of a curved surface. However, if a surface is flat and I could get just as high-fidelity a reproduction with 2 triangles, is there any reason to use more?
  13. Is there some way you can ease up on the restrictions on the spawned car, and allow customizing the spawned ped?
  14. Why do you need to bring that argument into this thread? Stick to topic.
  15. But they use V's emergency lighting. A "custom lightbar" is not actually a thing as far as GTA is concerned -- all a lightbar is is an inert mesh. The flashing is done through "siren##" nodes, which (in conjunction with the vehicle's carvariations entry) tell V to do some combination of creating a corona there and enabling (and moving to the right spot) a special mesh with the lit-up texture. The lit-up texture is customizable, but the corona is not. Moreover, some coronas have hardcoded directions, and can't even be rotated, which is why people say "lighting is a pain" -- it doesn't mod easily. The flash *pattern* doesn't mod at all -- all you can do is grab siren lights that already have the right pattern. All the "custom lightbars" do is rearrange the lights which were already on the car (within V's limits) and add a mesh to be a different lightbar shape. While textures can be modified as part of this, the corona (which makes it look like a bright light instead of a painted spot) cannot. And so you can't give a car more blue lights than Rockstar gave cars with its light setup, and your use of those blue lights is limited.
  16. This is custom, I think. As for 4.1: IPS updates now make me nervous.
  17. This topic has been moved to the appropriate forum. Please post in the correct location in the future.
  18. The issue is that there are two parts to thelight: an ELS-style texture and a corona (the point of light). The coronas available to use on a car are determined by the lighting setup of the vehicle in GTA config files, and no available setups give enough blue coronas.

This is a colormapped police motorcycle. It's a development resource designed to make it easier to produce police bikes with certain styles of livery; this bike is optimized for two-tone liveries. The template for this bike is almost the same as for the default bike. However, in the upper left corner, there are 10 squares which can be filled with 10 different colors. Each square controls the paint color for a different part of the bike: the top and side of the front and rear fenders, the middle and side of the gas tank, the headlight, the saddlebags and their lids, and the box behind the seat. This bike was designed to make two-tone liveries possible. A sample LSPD livery is included. To make a livery, you start with the included paintmap, and decide what the ten colors will be; you then fill those areas in on the paintmap. Then, you add what I'm calling the "visual elements" -- the POLICE logo on the box behind the driver, the seal, the slogan, and the number. It's just like making a skin for the default bike, but you fill in the appropriate paint colors first. The paintmap does not currently work *perfectly* at all LOD levels (particularly the low ones); it works well enough as far as I'm concerned, though. This bike does not support multiple liveries. A future version might. A future version might also have different lights. You may edit and redistribute this model freely, provided you give credit.
  19. The can't-check-owner-name also comes up when the car is stolen; this is too much of a dead giveaway that the car was stolen.
  20. But it's misleading. Metaphors work when they are similar in significant ways to the topic. But the metaphor of burglary is different in pretty much all the key respects from misusing and not crediting work, and both that metaphor and the term "mod theft" have the key difference that someone breaking modding rules hasn't deprived you of your mod. And for the record, I'm not one of those people who generally complains about screenshots of unreleased cars; I don't like it when it gets to the point of taunting, but it doesn't really seem to have been that so far. No. Again, you're trying to say "My decision is your fault." This isn't a complaint about the specific words you used, but about how you're trying to both make the decision you want and fail to own up to it. That's just not how it works. If you don't want to release models, that's fine. I might be a bit disappointed (your mods are pretty good), but it's entirely your call as to whether or not you want to release. But it is your call; it is not anyone else's. Which means that it's disingenuous to try to say "someone else forced me into it, blame them."
