  1. For 1 and 2, I have no idea. For 3, what I do is just import the whole thing with GIMS, and hide all but the one mesh I want to work on in 3ds max.
  2. Did not know either of those. Thanks!
  3. And once you use either of the mods GTAIVCode3 linked, you can easily add other cars as well. All you have to do is add the .wft and .wtd to newvehicles.img (which *requires* OpenIV), add lines in newvehicles.ide, newhandling.dat, carcols.dat, and cargrp.dat, and you're done.
  4. The results for "help" scroll off the top of the screen before you can read them.
  5. How does that work? Is that, like, you guys supplement police in the downtown area? What city is it?
  6. And NYPD has an age limit of 35 (any older than that and you can't take the test). So, more time pressure if you want to join that department.
  7. It's not impossible; I know a bunch of people who have green cards. On the other hand, most of them are professionals (doctors and scientists and the like), so they probably had an easier time getting it.
  8. US Department of Defense. And Yakadafi/EVI/TheThinBlueLine is a deputy, as is Bailey23 (though I just looked, and he actually hasn't been here in months)
  9. I know we have at least 2 Florida sheriff's deputies.
  10. The game wants to treat it as a 4-wheeled vehicle (because noose is a car), not a 2-wheeled bike. You can actually add a "policeb" slot to your game, which will make the lights and siren work (cars won't pull over, but it's a bike, so you can just go around them). The mod is here.
  11. Beckugan1, I think your view is pretty much the same as mine.
  12. If it's thinner than that, I'm not sure it's a Liberty (I don't think it comes thinner than that). If you snapped some photos, can you upload them?
  13. The same thing will happen if you add police3 or police4: no computer. What I do is flip a coin each traffic stop. Heads, license is OK. Tails, it's expired.
  14. I don't know the name, but on the bridge with the tollbooth between Algonquin, Bohan, and Dukes, the segment between the tollbooth and Dukes has a hill (right after the turn after the toll). On that hill, AI tend to go *really* fast both ways.
  15. Braveheart's Policing script and Abraxas's Police Helper are also really useful.
  16. And the LCPDFR devs don't?
  17. Is this the car you're talking about? If so, yes, that is a Liberty.
  18. This is where I have a problem. Though I respect the police, the idea that they should not be criticized is really dangerous. In fact, if you compare cops now to cops in the past, you'll find that cops now are much, much less corrupt, in large part due to people who are willing to criticize them.
  19. To change the actual color, look in the car texture files. There should be a file called "emerglights" and another called "emerglights_emis". emerglights is the color of the glass; for an LED lightbar, this is typically clear, so you don't need to touch it. emerglights_emis is what color it will light up with when it lights up; this is what you need to modify. After you modify that, go into ELS.ini and change the config for the car to get the reflections to work right (so the environment will flash, say, blue instead of red).
  20. Braveheart's Policing Script, found
  21. I know my high school (in Montgomery County, FYI) gave away surplus computers a couple years ago. I think we gave them all away by now, but another school might be doing something similar.
  22. Please answer the questions instead of repeating yourself. If I need to see what you said before, I am fully capable of scrolling up and reading it again.
  23. I didn't say that. Someone else did. I disagree with it, because: military, EMS, fire (as you rightly pointed out). However, when you say that politics has death around every corner, I find it incredibly hard to take you seriously.
