  1. I thought you couldn't add vehicles to the game at all, only replace existing ones.
  2. You're going to need some more information such as what kind of processor, what version of windows, what your power supply's maximum wattage rating is, if it's a mid size desktop or a mini tower desktop (and no, you can't upgrade graphics cards on a laptop). Also define "budget". You're not really going to get anything great for less than $150.
  3. I have to let the suspect steal a car and drive away if I want to end the callout without shooting him in the face. It's been a glaring issue and I don't know why it hasn't been addressed with rapid response. Maybe RC3 will bring the winds of change if we get enough people to complain about it.
  4. The term 'do me a favor' can be used as a form of mental manipulation through speech, in such a way that when you ask someone a question like "Can you do me a favor and hang on a minute?" they're less likely to reject your request. This is used in policing but also as a sales strategy in many retail stores. At a store that I worked at for years, instead of telling someone to stop and see security on your way out to check your bags for stolen items, I'd say "Alright, you're all set; just do me a favor and show that receipt on your way out, alright?" I had never got a rejection for that request, ever.
  5. All this talk about police and pizza... Tell the dude you'll haul him off to Pizza Jail (sounds delicious). And I thought the guy talking about Interpol was kidding. lol
  6. IBuyPower's a fine website. I would not go to a local retail store to get a gaming computer, they're usually underwhelming for the money and will be from a generic brand like Dell or HP and have weak video cards. A lot of people here forget that some people are completely clueless with a screwdriver in their hands, and having it built for them is sometimes a better solution. I support that site as they give you some quality stuff that ends up being cheaper than Alienware and other comparable brands.
  7. I'd probably have to watch it frame by frame to tell lol.
  8. Truth be told, after watching this show for the last few years, and then seeing this video clip, I find myself using that phrase every day. A lot. lol Do me a favor and watch the video.
  9. It don't think it could do that for the rotating lights, but I suppose without seeing the source code I won't know.
  10. Blender's a great program but most people use it because it's free, not because its an industry standard. 3D Studio Max is the industry standard for most video games.
  11. A couple of things I want to straighten out here: -Most retail bought computers today do not have graphics cards, this goes for both laptops and desktops. This is because the processor does all the rendering by itself and uses "shared memory" (which is more or less stealing system RAM and using it as graphical RAM) in order to act as a graphics cards. Day to day computing does not require advanced graphics hardware. But anything involving any advanced form of animation, high definition video or complex 3D and 2D rendering will benefit from a graphics card. Most people in this world are Facebook and YouTube users and don't need those sort of things. That's why store bought computers are like that. When a computer device manager or diagnostic file says that you have a Intel GMA X4500MHD 59MB, that translates to Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Model X4500 Mobile High Definition, using 59 megabytes of system RAM. These integrated graphics solutions can take several gigs of RAM if you choose. -You don't have to visualize games to make them run on a Mac. Macs with Intel-based hardware run on an x86 platform, meaning that you can simply partition the hard drive and install a copy of Windows on it, using something like BootCamp to switch your OS when needed.

  13. MODERATOR NOTICE Did you seriously just start the same thread even after a moderator closed it down? Warn level raised, topic closed again.
  14. Just remember that the suspect actually has to drive the vehicle for it to be a car theft, otherwise its just a burglary. If that is implemented in LCPD:FR lets keep that in mind. Car burglary, speaking of which could easily be scripted in as well. There are already random peds in GTA IV who dig through their trunk. We could use that animation in a clever way in certain situations, like having a ped going down a residential street opening the trucks of a few different cars.
  15. MODERATOR NOTICE Nope, still not in the right section. You're close though. Moving the topic now.
  16. I don't think it is. The model is one piece, and the lights themselves never change. It's the textures on them that do. That's what makes them grey (off) or blue/red/yellow/whatever. Rapid reloading of textures. Halogen I don't know how that's done, but again the model can't morph so it's probably some way of manipulating T&L (transform & lighting) and placing it within the area where the halogen bulbs should be.
  17. Does it reload the entire model or the textures? I thought it was just the textures.
