  1. Believe me, all that stuff isn't exactly free.

  3. You can turn down the intensity of ELS with its config file. And 3GB of RAM is pretty tiny, but it will probably function.
  4. Studying police work for future enrollment in a police academy. Seems like an interesting job. We'll see what comes of it.
  5. If they walk away, do a gunpoint arrest. Then hold ALT & H while standing over/in front of them.

It's not a bug. The text on the bottom of the screen will tell you if he's hostile or not. Usually he runs, in which case, your shooting would be a murder since he is facing away from you and trying to run. Use your taser if you want to stop him from running. If he wishes to attack you, it will say so, and then you can shoot him all you want.
  7. That's what I said.
  8. It depends. If the officers are withing reaching distance, they will usually attempt an arrest. If they are at a lengthy distance, all bets are off.
  9. There you go. I gave you a +1 to combat the negative marks. lol
  10. You're not getting DDR3. You can't fit DDR3 in DDR2 slots, they have a different position for the notch in the memory module and are electrically incompatible.
  11. When I downloaded it to see what it is, this was all that was in it: -renderquality: -shadowdensity: -texturequality: -viewdistance: -detailquality: -novblank: -width: -height: -fullscreen: -percentvidmem: -minspecaudio: -memrestrict 629145600 -restrictApp 0 -refreshrate 50 -framelimit 1 -norestriction -nomemrestrict -noprecache -fullspecaudio So it appears to be blank templates for the in game settings. So yes, it will reduce quality, like I said earlier. You can't magically make the game be less of a resource hog with a config file. The performance boost has to come from somewhere.
  12. Here's the thing xGessx, if you're spending $60 per game, four games will be enough to get yourself a good graphics card. You can get a good selection of games on PC that cost less, especially on STEAM.
  13. ELS V6 and V5 crash me but it wasn't on a timed basis. It seemed that whenever the memory got flooded with ELS light data ( too many AI cops trying to use it) it would crash.
  14. It's been happening a lot more frequently now. I'd probably say 25-50% chance people will run on foot when I give $100 fines, probably 25% in a vehicle. The more tickets you hand out the more chance you have apparently. My ticket stats are pretty high. I'm ranked 3rd in the database on that. lol

Note the word 'and' between "hit F8" followed by "cross a bridge" two separate actions. F8 so I don't get call outs on the first island, and then crossing the bridge to... cross the bridge.
  16. Draw distance effects your FPS big time since your video card will have to do more math on the fly. And the lower resolution means there aren't as many pixels to render at once. Far Cry 2 uses the Dunia engine, which is a stripped down, but better optimized version of the Crytek 2 Engine. Despite the better looking visuals it's better coded than the Euphoria engine that GTA IV uses. I don't doubt that your game runs smoothly enough. I ran it pretty well at 1280X1024 with an 8800GTX and a Core 2 Duo E6700 when the game first came out. Turn on DX10 instead of DX9 and your frame rate takes a nose dive, big time. With my current card though, it's no longer an issue. Only DX11 mode with heavy Tessellation will stress it. And I don't consider running anything on high with a crappy frame rate. There's no point to good visuals if it's not playable.
  17. I started with this mod a few months ago. I tried PPM recently. It works okay but there's too much crap on the screen. Has a very "dry" feel to it, and the website is nothing like this, which is important for communication with community members and the dev/support team.

Yes, I know. It's not that huge of an effort to hit F8 and cross a bridge. I'd have to do the same thing if I were on the third island and wanted to go onto the first.
  20. Since CPU & GPU cooperation is becoming less important these days, mixing an nVidia or AMD (NOT ATI) card with a processor of a different brand does not matter. Whoever said they didn't like AMD cards, I really don't know why. They offer better power management and lower heat emission with similar performance for less money. AMD also has the records for fastest graphics cards in the world with the 6990 and the 6990M for laptops. I run an AMD Phenom II X4 955BE processor and I had it paired with two (then) ATI Radeon 4890's in Crossfire. One of the ball bearings in the fan went so I scrapped both cards and went with an nVidia 570GTX because it was the best option for me at the time. If I had the money for a 6950 Crossfire set at the time, I would have done that (because you can flash a 6950 to a 6970 with a new BIOS). But I didn't. I can't see the nVidia card has disappointed me. It's held up great so far. And xGessx you do not run GTA IV on full settings at 1080p resolution. I don't care what you claim. It's mathematically impossible with how that card performs. You're either running it on a tiny monitor, you're using a config file that turns certain things off, or you just plain don't have every setting maxed out.
  21. Processors okay, you don't have 7GB of RAM unless you bought 3 2GB sticks and decided to throw in a single GB for fun, and that video card is awful. A 9600GT is the equivalent of an 8800GT (circa 2006) with better power management, and the 9500 is a cut back model of that. Not really intended for gaming, but better than integrated.

  23. I don't suppose all of the cars come with it? I don't know if I have the patience to replace every single car in the game with an equivalent.
  24. Isn't two trillion bytes just two terabytes? That's not actually that big. *EDIT* Yup, I just did the calculation really quick. Approx 1.81 TB. It's a lot of content for sure, but why the inflated number?
  25. Looks okay to me. Glad they got it sorted out.
