  1. Getting ready to kick off this series again and I'll admit I'm having a blast. I love playing as Sheriff Jake Westgate and it's great to have him back in his neck of the woods. This first small video is just an intro to the series and I actually hope to be filming mostly in this way even though it is a ton more work. I have around 30+ hours of footage to go through before I can then start filming the way I want to. So that being said there is going to be a lot of videos done the old way, (with the game play camera) until I get to the end of this pile. Hopefully you enjoy these videos as much as I enjoy making them. I've already deleted over 50 hours of recorded footage and now wish I didn't because there was some really good events in them. The reason for deleting them is because I want to progress the story/character development and keep coming up with ideas that wouldn't make sense if I started with what I had. Now instead of deleting the footage I decided to start editing and uploading them, (with the nagging of my sons to just render them to get Jake back out there). At the time of this post episode one part one is uploading but here is the series intro for the time being.
  2. Yup sure do. I was almost 5 years old and it was one of the old huge ford station wagons my dad always bought because we would always go on road trips. We lived in Ashland Ohio at the time and my mom was doing her usual thing, which was traveling the countryside looking at the Amish homes and talking with the families. As we were going down this one road I kept bugging my mom to let me drive and my one sister, seven years older than me, was bitching not to let me because she never got to drive. My mom finally stopped the car and let my sister drive a small ways then it was my turn. I remember sitting on my mom's lap as she controlled the gas and break but I was in full control of the steering. She didn't go too fast maybe around 5-10 mph but I remember feeling the woosieness in my stomach as we traveled along those roads. She taught me how to keep the car straight by keeping the front middle of the hood lined up with the side of the road. As a matter of fact I still use that to this day in heavy rain, fog and snow to stay on the road properly and it has always helped me keep confident in very bad conditions. It gives you plenty of clearance on both sides ( tip for those that can use it ). As the years went on and way before I turned 16 my mom showed me many things about driving. She taught me how to control a skid, how to scan the road for possible issues, how to always be prepared, how to powerslide ( people call this drifting today for some reason ), how to always be aware of how other people are driving, how to do a "rockford" which is driving in reverse and swinging the car around and go forward in one continuous motion, more commonly called a J-turn and so much more. It was because of her that I impressed my driving instructor so much that he fibbed the books and only had me drive one time. He was especially impressed with my reverse driving, how much control I had of the vehicle and confidence I had in my driving. I've got so many stories that I could tell you about my times with my mom that it could almost be a book. So many great memories and all of it kept from my dad lol. She would always say, "now don't tell your father" and I never did. God I love that woman and I miss her dearly.
  3. Guppy19 I just wanted to give you an idea of how fit I was. Like I said I worked for a Water Department and it was almost exactly 1 mile from where I live. I worked second shift by myself and the rest of the crew worked days. Since we're a small town I also ran the Waste Water Department and that too is almost exactly a mile from my house. At night after I got off work I was also on call for the rest of the night to answer alarms and whatnot. Being in my 40's I could run that mile in 10-12 minutes if an alarm was going off and provided a train wasn't crossing my path, I know because I timed myself. I could actually get to the water plant faster than any of the other guys and all they had to do was get dressed and in their vehicles. Now I struggle to walk 3 blocks and have to stop and rest. This has been a huge life change for me and I will admit greatly depressing at times. On a really bad day I can get a block and a half but on a good day I may be able to hit 5 blocks before I have to stop for a bit. It's not something to second guess or even put off for later. If you have even a slight doubt in your mind see a doctor. If he suspects it may have been a heart attack they will give you a stress test. For me the stress test didn't cause any discomfort, no chest pains and only heavy breathing like I just ran to the plant. With that test they can tell if you may have had one. If they then suspect you did the next step is a heart catheterization. I felt absolutely nothing having that done but other people that I have talked to said it hurt them. I went in expecting it to hurt but again I had no discomfort or pain at all. I have been awake for all procedures including the failed angioplasty with no discomfort or pain. The only things that hurt beyond belief was the heart attack and the draining of the blood from around my heart. Even when they were stabbing me in the chest ( 19 times to be exact ) I didn't feel a thing, I heard it, felt the pressure of it but it didn't hurt but that may have been because I was in that relaxed, peaceful state from the dropping blood pressure lol. If you have any doubts get checked out, the worst they can tell you then is you're all good. I've got a friend that has a picture of me in the hospital with the chest tube. It's not pretty and I look like a dead man but if I can get that from them I'll show ya'. Oh and I'm 6ft 240lbs and sprinter not a runner.
  4. Yes I did have a heart attack last February. As a matter of fact I remember posting in a topic about the cold of that winter because I wanted to get people to know how to help keep their pipes from freezing. I also pointed out that I was working for a water department and the hell these guys go through. First and foremost. Do not listen to anyone else about the possibility of having a heart attack except for a Doctor. All you're going to get from other people is guesses and copy-N-paste articles. If you feel you may have had a heart attack then go to the damn doctor, I can't stress that enough. Everyone's experience is different so don't take shows and articles as fact, go to the doctor. I will now tell you what I experienced but remember if you suspect you may have had a heart attack, go to the fucking doctor. Last Feb I was taken off work because of problems with pain in my neck and my arms and hands not working correctly. I walk everywhere I don't even own a car anymore when I started working at the water department because it was only a mile away from home, so I gave it to someone that could use it instead of letting it sit and rot away. I was a pretty active guy especially when I packed up my camera equipment and headed out on a hike and believe me that shit gets heavy the more you buy lol. Not only that but my job was extremely physical and I can't tell you how many stairs I ran up and down during my shift and I do mean running. I was at home and started getting an uncomfortable feeling in my arms ( both ) and neck, the back of it to be more specific. Soon my arms and hands would not function, the pain in my neck increase tenfold and the back of my head was pounding along with my back teeth. I couldn't close my mouth and was salivating with unbearable pain. At this time I was still standing and trying to get to my phone but ended up on the floor just two feet from it. It doesn't matter because without the use of my hands/fingers it would have been impossible to call out. As I lay there I thought about how I joked with everyone that they wouldn't know if I was dead until a week later and the smell got to the neighbors. I actually thought it was quite funny, no bullshit, that this may actually come true. I couldn't do anything except try to relax but the pain was the worst I ever felt, well until they tried to fix me. I thought I was going to die so I did my best to go to sleep and that is exactly what I did, go to sleep. I found out two months later that I had a heart attack and damage was done to the heart. I have two 100% blocked arteries and one 80% blocked. They tried to fix me but ended up puncturing my artery which almost killed me because the sack around my heart ended up filling with blood. That and the removal of the blood and chest tube actually felt worse than the heart attack. I will tell you that when you lose blood pressure it is the most relaxing and peaceful feeling in the world. I could hear them working on my but I honestly didn't care and knew that I had to put my trust into them to do their job, so I blocked them out and enjoyed the peace. I knew that if I was going to die at that moment I wanted to feel that peace, it was a great feeling. Oh I did ask how I could have prevented this from happening because I have always been very active and fit. I was told that I couldn't have prevented it, they actually said that genetics plays the part in this for me and I got the short end of the deal. I can't go on my parents medical background because I'm adopted but at least my children can get a heads for themselves with me. Total diagnoses is CAD ( Coronary Artery Disease) , Pericarditis ( from the failed plumbing fix ) and unstable Angina. The angina is no fun, not at all. They can't fix me and can only treat me with medication to slow things down. My job let me go last September as a matter of fact on my birthday, the 28th lmao. I'm now struggling with trying to get on disability and have no medical coverage because of denials. I find it great that I've been working very physical jobs since I was 14 and at 47 I can't get the help I need because I'm too young, so they say. I'm going to close this by posting a picture of myself so you can see that I'm not in bad shape at all. They actually told me that what probably saved me was the fact that my heart is so strong, it's just the plumbing is kind of farked. Another thing, GO TO THE DOCTOR IF YOU THINK YOU MAY HAVE HAD A HEART ATTACK. Most of the shit I see people regurgitate in this thread just pissed me the fuck off. If you never had one don't assume you know what the hell it feels like or that you should be fucking dead. Ok time for me to relax, stay safe Exploring by Gerhart67, on FlickrExploring
  5. Hey there all, I was hoping to open a discussion on shows that are foreign to you that you like to watch. The reason for this discussion is I thought it might be interesting to see what other people like and possibly find more shows that I may enjoy myself. They have to be foreign to you and tell us how did it lure you in. One of the first foreign ( to me ) shows that I started watching a long time ago is Japanese show called “Downtown” ( gaki no tsukai ). This show is made up from Japanese comedians and the thing I like about it most is the special 24 hour challenge episodes they have. Usually the special has a specific theme such as them being high school students, police officers, nurses etc. The challege is usually they can't laugh for any reason for 24 hours and if they do they get a punishment, usually a very hard slap on the ass. There have been other challenges and punishments but this is the one they have the most. During these challenges other comedians, actors and singers are invited to do skits to get these guys to laugh. Sometimes the hosts work against one another to get one or more of their partners punished. There are a lot of things you may not understand or think is not funny because of the culture differences but a little research will get you in the know. Here is an older episode where the punishment is a dart from a blowgun is shot into their butt if they laugh. http://youtu.be/zL5VlqHZf_U Here is a show from Korea that I've also enjoyed very much but has since stopped being made. It's name is “Family Outing” and is a comedy-variety show. This takes place in many places around South Korea with the cast going to an elderly family's place and taking care of chores left by the residents while they go on vacation. Special guests such as singers, actors/actresses and comedians were invited to join them as they did challenges both physical and mental. Alot of editing goes into they episodes to add character theme songs and special effects to make it more funny.
  6. Guess I'm a 47 year old immature, absurd fart then. Two of my most favorite anime are Ghost in the shell and the movie ( Kaze no Tani no Naushika) Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. While I don't really care for any others there are many things I find rather corny but other people enjoy. One of the great things about humans is the differences we all have, makes life a little more interesting. If we were all mirrors of each other there would really be no reason to even talk with another person. Enjoyment comes in many forms but it seems to me that the OP gets enjoyment out of getting others riled up ( just an observation from the posts I noticed but I could be wrong). To me that's sad but it's still different. Don't take life so serious and you'll enjoy it much more. There is another show that I watch which is Korean and I find it highly entertaining. The show is called Running Man and I use to watch it on justin.tv ( which is now gone ).and before that it was another Korean show called Family Outing. Most people that I've shown it to don't care for them and think they're senseless but I honestly can't stand American shows. Another show I like to watch is BBC Top Gear. I hate cars and don't even own one anymore but I love how the hosts entertain and also appreciate the cinematography. I love dance and watch YAKfilms on Youtube, not only for the dance but also for the cinematography. To me it's actually sad to see people be so closed minded, they don't know what they could be missing.
  7. Looks like Explorer.exe either didn't fire up or is possibly corrupt in some way. If it's running, you can check in the task manager under processes, then highlight it and click the end process button at the bottom, if it's not then just do the next part. Now click on File at the top, choose New Task ( Run ) and type in explorer.exe. Hopefully it will fire up Explorer and you'll have everything back. You still have an issue, I would suggest going back to a previous restore point and see if it persists. If so a repair or reinstall of the OS may be needed.
  8. Sorry gents but I got you both beat, 47 years here. I've got 4 grown children with 9 grandchildren. . . so far.
  9. To be honest I wish I knew about the vodka trick many years before because it works wonders. I'm 47 years old and spent many weekends in the woods camping in the winter in below zero weather. I did this because I found it fun and challenging. Many times I never took a tent and made my own temporary shelters and with it being so cold out you need to sleep as close to the fire without becoming part of it. During those years after my adventures I would hang up my clothing outside to "air" out and later wash them. Once I found out about vodka's ability to neutralize the odor I never went back to the old way. You asked for help and I thought I would suggest a perfect solution from my own experience. Many of the things people suggest is not a way to neutralize the odor but to cover it up with another. I would also use this when I went out to the bar with my friends and you get that horrible cigarette smell in your clothes that's enough to gag a maggot. Take it or leave it, it's up to you. My avatar is really a picture of me and one of my nine grandchildren.... I really am 47 years old.
  10. Seriously?! You don't put it in a washing machine, use a spray bottle and spray it on the fabric.
