  1. Here is some footage I took of the fire right outside my apartment. I've also included a news link. Just thought some might be interested.
  2. A fire outside my apartment last night, uploading video right now but won't be done for some time. '' target='_blank'>> If interested you can see some of my other photos on my photostream.
  3. Since you're all on this topic I would like to bring something up. I work for a water dept in the Great Lakes area and having to work outside in this crap is absolutely HORRIBLE. It's not the snow that is causing the problems this year it is the below freezing temperatures. Try being outside, all wet, jack hammering through almost 4' of frozen ground, in well below zero weather with a lowest windchill of -43. Now your clothes freeze almost instantly as you're knee deep in water trying to repair broken mains, well that's as you get out of the holes. We've had over 30 main breaks, I don't know how many service lines freezing on our side ( time to break out the welder and send a current through ), lines breaking at the plant. My co-workers have put in 17 hour shifts on several occasions and still have to cater to people not leaving their water run so they freeze their pipes. Once they freeze their pipes it works it's way back and breaks our meters, nice. What I'm trying to say is please please PLEASE, leave the water run. The worst happens when the cold snap ends and the temps start to rise, it's all science. We're out there getting bitched and laughed at while risking our health to make sure you have water. I'm out for a week after dealing with chest pains and my right arm not wanting to work, lost grip, mobility, strength and dexterity all because of the nerves in my back and neck going bonkers. The chest pains got so bad it put tears in my eyes so I finally went to the doc's and he took me off work. Now my co-workers are out there working their asses off without a simple thank you and it makes me sick. Those guys deserve more appreciation for the hell they put themselves through and the hell they have to put up with. Dealing with people coming up and complaining because they can't shower while you're standing there with your clothes frozen solid is insane. You just want to knock their asses out and throw them in the hole but instead you have to tell them you're sorry for the inconvenience and will have it back on as soon as possible. Please leave the water run when weather like this is happening. If it was only snow that's great, it insulates the ground. Since it's combined with below freezing temps, be thankful there is snow on the ground otherwise the situation would be much worse. So please leave your water run as a very small stream, even that may not help. Like I said, we've been jack hammering through almost 4' of frozen ground and our frost line is 32", well below the frost line. Stay safe all by the way my avatar is actually me and one of my grandsons. If you're from my town you'll recognize me
  4. or http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=225643158 Sheriff Jake Westgate is on vacation in Chernarus. We did have Deputy Burlap but with the fix it made it impossible to use that item as a hood.
  5. Nice to have seen this thread, I thought I was the only one. The longest I've run is almost 2 hours but I'm usually between 10-40 minutes with the rare one happening within around 5 minutes. So I'm assuming this error still being looked into, example below with fresh crash. [ERROR - 8:49:18 PM] [Main] CRITICAL ERROR DURING MAINLOOP! 6. Hey guys, I thought I would share a clip from my first time in DayZ Standalone. What make this great for me is I'm joined by two of my sons, my oldest ( which gets executed ) and my youngest ( the murderer ). Nothing says bonding like shared bloodshed of kin and stranger alike. Sorry about the blurry video a video setting got reset which I didn't figure out until later. Hope you enjoy the video. ( WARNING TO HEADPHONE USERS )

  8. I believe you need to alter the cargrp.dat file. Take a look in that and remember before anything. . . always make backups.
  9. Dragon I believe the reason behind your lag while using action has to do with file size and writing and playing from the same hard drive. From the look of your specs I'm assuming it's a laptop. I don't know if recording to an external hard drive would help or not because of the transfer rate. Bandi has a very small compared to the others. I ran a little test last night between fraps and action. I recorded a 10 minute video in Iron Front with a massive 100 AI battle. Action's 10 minute file size was 4.24Gigs and the Fraps 10 video came in at 12.5Gigs. There was very little difference in quality, some but not enough to justify me giving up action. If you have an external hard drive you can give that a go to see if it helps but I think the transfer rate will be the bottleneck. This is all just my opinion and experience. EDIT: Found a nice video showing the differences
