were there any other files in the car folder you downloaded? If there were any els files included u would need to put those in the els file for it to work some cars have them.

well, in theory, once the clock hits midnight it means the world is virtually at risk of being destroyed. It's more of a visual understanding of how bad things are on the planet. Considering how serious they take the doomsday clock, I would have to say i'd be very worried if it really did hit 12:00

as long as you have els in your gta iv folder you should be good to go. just make sure you are making a back up copy before you do more changes. you don't wanna have to do what i am doing re installing everything.

Today was a very busy day across the world. The biggest news is that the Saudi King Abdullah has died at the age of 90. Apparenty, he had his ducks in a row as far as passing the torch on. While I have always had good thoughts about him the comments i've read across the spectrum today have spoken very negatively of him. Either way, his death could affect a major ally of the United States so we will just have to wait and see what happens. They had apparently reached a deal the other day over concerns from both sides; however, apparently it was not to be. Rebel forces did not leave the grounds of the Presidency and he resigned this morning quite abruptly. I have no idea why so many countries can't have peaceful transitions of power. It is beyond me. The clock now sits at 3 minutes til midnight. Many reasons were given including the situation between Russia and United States, global warming, and failure of world leaders to control urgent problems. The last time the clock was this close to midnight was in 1983 during the height of the Cold War. To get a log go to your lcpdfr folder and do the lcpdfr diagnostic tool. If anything is bad it will produce a log for you to post here. Hope this helps.

okay the first question is did you launch gta iv successfully without lcpdfr? that way we know if its a gta iv problem or something else.

okay welp i couldnt provide much information because i wasnt really sure of how to find logs lol. so after teaching myself that I actually ended up having to re install everything. I was reading my logs and it just looked like there were a hundred errors. And no matter what copy i tried to use it was of no use. How it happened i have no idea. i hadn't altered any GTA IV files or anything. I played great for two hours and turned it off and turned it back on and nothing. very weird. i wanted to provide some information on what i see as a complete crash of the GTA IV game, but it didnt work out for me :/ either way its taken me some time to get it straight but i did it!!! i figured i would need tons of help but apparently the last two months i've learned more from ya than i thought plus im getting good at grave digging topics

hello cody :) glad you are here. as i am fairly new to the forum too, i will provide you with some basic and limited information to help get you going. please make sure that you make backups of your GTA IV file before you start any modding or changing of anything. ALWAYS. 1. make sure you download the current patch for GTA IV here https://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/articles/200145406-Grand-Theft-Auto-IV-Patch-7-Title-Update-v-1-0-7-0-English-1-0-6-1-Russian-1-0-5-2-Japanese- 2. once you download the patch start up your GTA IV to make sure it works properly. If it doesnt stop right there and place a report here https://www.lcpdfr.com/forum/799-support-requests/ 3. download lcpdfr v.1.0d hotfix here '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>>choose the auto install at first..if you have issues we can direct you later to a manual install Now that you have installed both the game and the mod please note these following bits of advice. You MUST use the launch gta.exe file in the main GTA IV folder and not the icon created by the game installation on the desktop (i created a shortcut to my desktop for the gta.exe file). Again, you MUST launch the game as administrator. Lastly, you MUST have your read-only file unmarked (that means the square will be empty) Before you launch the game, go into your main GTA IV file and you will need to remove one file really quick. You will have these two files: xlive.dll and dsound.dll It is recommended that you only have one or the other. Some people can keep both and be just fine; however, i can not. if you would like to visit the thread about this please go here '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>>before you decide. Once that is done you should be ready to play :) launch your game using the gtaiv.exe file. once your game starts press Alt P to start the LCDPFR mod. If you are successful it will say Welcome to LCPDFR. Please report to the nearest police station to start duty. Go to a station and get your uniform on and enjoy!!! I really hope i was able to help out. If this helps and you get your game started just fine PLEASE create a back up copy!!!! That way if you start adding other mods you will have a working copy stored in case of a crash. GOOD LUCK!!

Control U and Control I are what I use to release traffic after stopping them.

All I did was change graphic settings and downloaded that one thing that stops unneccesary services. Also make sure no windows are open while ya play. Its called Booster I think

There isn't too much that can be done as far as running the game. What you can do is in game press start and go to options menu and go to Graphics. Change the ones that affect CPU usage to lower settings. Change shadows to low and water to low. Also changing screen resolution can help. The mod is a mod and will crash eventually regardless. Even those who have bad ass comps suffer the same fate as those who don't. Also I use a program that shuts down all other programs that are running while I play. When I first started playing my game was sketchy but with some tweaks it ran great. Good luck

i appreciate the response; however, i am not a new comer to history and there are two sides to the story. perhaps i am rooting for one side while you are rooting for the other. as the map shown by Hystery shows, the lands to which Israel "claims" has grown larger and larger as time goes on. While i don't support violence to answer any situation, and even if it did, does killing 2,000 people justify mortars falling in unpopulated areas? that can't be looked over because of a "well they send mortars so we can destroy their entire livelihood" situation. what would someone do if they were confined to land ten miles wide and herded like cattle? eventually unrest will happen. so while Israel suffered no real collateral damage from these mortar attacks, which were wrong, Gaza now has $10 billion in damages and probably 20 years to rebuild. and just as some will call palestinian mortar attacks terrorism, so is sending Mossad agents around the world to assassinate people. Also, so is sending jets across the continent to destroy what it doesn't like in neighboring countries. my issue here is that Israel has shown no real indication that it wants to even discuss living in a two state situation. and i think the world is realizing this as 2/3 of the nations on earth have now recognized Palestine as a state. There was a time when Israel could have settled issues with PLO without Hamas..it was only after constant Israel let downs that Hamas overtook the areas because they were tired of being told things that were never going to happen. perhaps the time has passed.

hey guys. sorry to bug ya but i have a weird problem. for some reason today i tried playing and i had a crash when the game was starting up. i let the lcpdfr auto save thing kick in and it crashed immediately before it could find retrieved save. the farthest i have gotten tonight is to the loading screen then it blanks out. the really odd thing is that i have five back up copies at different stages just in case something like this happened. however, none of those copies will open either. they all crash. the first copy i have is from december 5th. it contains only lcpdfr, els, and cars. the later copies of course have more items as i went along. the first three copies have no savefile/oldsession files so i know that it couldnt have been an lcpdfr issue. so i can't figure out what in the world could have happened to where all of these games wont work and how it suddenly happened overnight. does it seem like my gta iv installation has gone bad or been corrupted somehow? i just wanted to get advice before i do something stupid and mess up bad. any advice at all would help. thanks :)

its so hard to pick :/ better peds means something else will suffer. better lighting means something else will suffer. the only thing i'll ask Santa for is better ambulance drivers and if not then a button i can make them disappear. also i can't stand how i drive around and there are two hundred abandoned police cars just randomly left wailing in the road. also i think just the new atmosphere will be amazing. GTA IV is so dark and cramped compared to the freedom to flee in the open country in GTA V. but even so...my computer don't have 65gb of memory

i wouldnt even worry about anything else until you can get lcdpfr running. once ya get the mod up and going then make a backup copy of your gta iv folder. then start experimenting one thing at a time. i also learned alot from youtube and i have links bookmarked for certain problems. so let us know how this is turning out as you go along.

well i'll be honest i don't know how to replace textures yet but i am learning. currently i am using all nypd models in my game and i'm sure i'd be interested in using this eventually. i'm not sure about non-els cars but i'd try them out if they were very sexy probably
