I would refrain from saying "LCPDFR causes a memory leak," for I have not ever officially heard that it does. However, it uses a lot more of your system's resources.

Just for the hell of it, try moving your save games somewhere else. to see if the problem still occurs. If you use dsound.dll, your savegames will be found in C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\savegames.

If you mean how does the regular GTA Multiplayer work, just open Games for Windows Live (unless you are using Xlive.dll, then it's QQ time), find a friend, and send a game invite, basically.

Did you really just call Break an ass? Asking for tips for a game not fully patched, as you have found, does not end well. Scripts are either designed for a patch, or they aren't. LCPDFR in particular is not designed for anything besides 1.0.7.0. Other scripts? Well that's a free for all. edit: gave you a -1 but the sever glitched and still kept it at 0 :sad:

Please note that basically all police cars you find on gtapolicemods.com will cause headaches with the game. The game is not designed for cars that have that many polygons.

The diagnostic tool download hasn't worked for a while I don't believe but I just tested a download last night and it worked fine.

Can't believe you guys are still sh*tting on the developers. You do realize it takes time to recover from data loss, correct? Sniper296 has the beta on his server, a link is in his signature. As for a 0.91 mirror, I am not sure. Please, let the developers fix the website at their pace instead of rushing them. You realize what happens if someone is rushed, correct?

Let's put it this way. Most police cars you find for GTA thatvyou can download have about 840% more polygons than the regular police cars (fact from Sniper296). The game can not adjust to this well at all. Low end computers will lag and so will some mid range systems. You can not legally redownload the same vehicles due to copyright laws. You will need to either re validate your game files through steam or reinstall. Google gta mods and look through the various web sites for other vehicles you can try. The average model file size for a stock GTA vehicle is about 400kb and texture size is about half of that, but it does vary. A model file is a .wtf file and a texture is a wtd file.

Since the data loss seemed to be the only cause of this, should this be closed now? I tested a download; everything seems to work like it should. P.S. to dev: the text editor for posts isn't working normally. Just a tip.

@Barham I haven't been told any specifics, but from what I've seen through the forums I believe a server has a "configuration issue" (based on the top of the website).

I suppose now would be a good time to state that adding images, videos, etc to a post doesn't really work that well at the moment... I assume there was going to be a picture or video?

I have a feeling the entire website is a little unstable right now. Loading sometimes takes forever, and I almost can't even make a post since either the buttons don't work, or sometimes it just says "CKEDITIOR not specified" or something like that. Just give the devs some time.

Do not rush the developers. Do you really think they're going to just not going to fix the downloads?

I'm only speculating here, but some graphics cards have profiles for 2D and 3D applications. It may be possible that when you switch from a 3D application to a 2D application, the profile will switch and that may cause the game to "lose" the D3D device, and then regain it switching back.

Downloads don't work right now. it's being worked on, I'm sure of it.
