  1. That's EFLC, not GTA IV. GTA IV has no slots for a Police3 or Police4 or policeb, those are EFLC only (specifically TBOGT). I meant that he could only try to import a police3 if he had TBoGT. You can't import that into GTA IV because there is no police3/4/b to begin with. Unless there is hidden code that will work if you used OpenIV to add the cars into GTA IV (which I have never heard of) a file named police3 will only work on TBoGT. You can rename the file to fit a car in GTA IV, though. If he has GTA IV, he has to rename it. If he has TBoGT, he's good to go.
  2. To be honest, I wouldn't change my mind if I was in your position. I have an EVGA GTX 260 myself and I don't regret it. EVGA is my go-to brand for video cards, although I suppose you could look at what other brands have for the GTX 550 chipset (ASUS, PNY, etc). EVGA is the only brand I'm comfortable with at the moment. I've put my card through hell and back, plus it's a refurb, and it's been solid.
  3. Those work for previewing the skins as well as importing / exporting, but a tool such as GIMP (free) or Photoshop (Paid) are required to edit skins or to create skins from scratch.
  4. With regards to the new system you have planned, it looks ok to me. The PSU should have enough power for your system, the GTX 550 Ti definitely is not a bad card, and the motherboard + cpu are compatible (not much difference from the X6 you looked at earlier, besides the # of cores). i'd still expect medium to medium-high graphics w/ GTA.
  5. The only way to add a car to GTA is to use OpenIV and literally add new files, but the game will not recognize the car as a police vehicle. Either the car is called that to replace an in-game civilian vehicle, or it is meant to replace a car from The Ballad of Gay Tony. You can rename the police3 part to whatever you want, as long as it matches an existing vehicle name.
  6. To elaborate on these two points, a skin is a paint job, so editing one of those or using a new one would edit how the car's livery looks. However, the texture file that skin is inside of also contains the color mapping for ELS lights, so editing the image file that contains the mapping would edit the ELS color. If that makes any sense.
  7. It's 64-bit. Almost all are nowadays.
  8. You should really go with 64 bit Windows, to be honest. If you don't use 64-bit, you will not be able to use all 8GB. Sometimes it is cut down to ~3.7GB and sometimes a little over 4GB, I've never been told why this happens though.
  9. Agree. You need a better system if you want even a remote chance of being able to play GTA IV, let alone GTA + LCPDFR.
  10. I would expect it to, depending on the graphics you decide on. The GTX 550 Aparna mentioned should be suitable for medium-high graphics.
  11. The CPU and motherboard are compatible (AM3+ motherboards can support AM3 CPUs) and the motherboard uses 240pin RAM. Looks good to me. As for the graphics, I'd go with something in the GTX 500 family, myself. (I use a 560) it would be good if someone else can verify as well, an extra set of eyes are always helpful. Ninja'd
  12. Well, try replacing the stock police cars, then mod them one at a time, to see if you can find the bad model.
  13. Before you imported your cars, though, did you ever save a police car?
  14. I suggest trying new cars, then. Sometimes specific cars do not react well with GTA IV (or vice versa, depending on how you look at it). Were the stock GTA police cars ever saved at a safe house?
  15. "This video contains content from UMG, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds."
  16. Read this, it should help: Don't suppose that could be re-pinned? Was un-pinned when merged.
  17. Numad 2, 4, 6, and 8 move the radar beam and numpad 5 re-centers it. Numpad + and - increase / decrease radar diameter. Those are all the controls, as far as I know (besides alt+d/r)
  18. Go to your GTA folder and search for dsound.dll or xlive.dll, if you find one or both delete them. Then reinstall LCPDFR and make sure to select only one of the asi loaders (dsound is preferred over xlive because xlive removes multiplayer).
  19. I use GIMP myself whenever I do some texture editing. I don't do nearly as much as Interference or Break but when I do edit some textures, GIMP is my go-to program.
  20. You can also press the numpad keys (2, 4, 6 and 8 I believe) to move to radar as well as numpad + and numpad - to increase the diameter. EDIT: Shoot, wrong thread :(
  21. So you want to know how to install it? Just go to your main GTA IV folder, find the Scripts folder (LCPDFR will be in there). Copy and paste the things for IVDashcam into the Scripts folder. Done. If LCPDFR runs, IVDashshould run as well.
  22. Run this and post the results please: http://goo.gl/QEftp Parking tickets are still in development as far as I know.
  23. Parking tickets aren't in RC1, from what I recall. As for your problem, check the sticky page please. http://www.lcpdfr.co...ead-this-first/
  24. Good find Tom, +1.
