Firetrucks disrupting Gameplay
For some reason, your modifier key might not be set in the lcpdfr.ini. Make sure it looks like this: Alternatively, you can change it to: And just use the Quick Action Menu to call them if you need them.

Some little tweaks for 1.0
Try installing a mod which reduces the amount of cop cars on patrol around LC. There's one called "less cops" or something. I use it, and things are much better with it. Try telling them to "move on" from the issue orders menu, within the stop and search options instead.

C0000005
Well, the mod does work right? Can you play it a bit more and be sure to attach the LCPDFR.log log to your next post every time it crashes. This should help us figure out what is crashing.

What are the default controls for LCPDFR?
Listed below is some of the more commonly used default controls for LCPDFR 1.0, along with a short description. ALT + P / START AND STOP LCPDFR Use this to start and stop LCPDFR. ALT + B / REQUEST BACKUP This will call for a LCPD unit to assist you. ALT + N / REQUEST SWAT BACKUP This will call for a NOOSE Tactical Response unit to assist you. CTRL + N / REQUEST HELICOPTER ASSISTANCE IN PURSUIT This will call for a LCPD helicopter (when lethal force is unauthorized), or a NOOSE Annihilator (when lethal force is authorized) to assist you in a pursuit. CTRL + M / REQUEST AMBULANCE This will call for an ambulance to be dispatched to your location. It generally only works if there are dead peds near you. CTRL + F / REQUEST FIRETRUCK This will call for a fire truck to be dispatched to your location. It will extinguish any nearby fires. ALT + E / CALL IN EVENT, UPDATE STATUS, ETC. If you get attacked by someone, or someone runs you over, or someone starts shooting nearby, you can use ALT + E to call this into dispatch. T / DRAW AND HOLSTER TASER This will draw or holster your Taser. It needs to be pressed twice for the first time. CAPSLOCK / OPEN QUICK ACTION MENU (QAM) Holding this will open the Quick Action Menu ALT / FAST WALK Holding ALT while walking will result in you walking faster (if using a 'fit' cop ped). This also brings up the LCPDFR Aiming Marker, which you can tell your partner to go places with (use the QAM) E / OPENING DOORS, TRUNKS, INTERACTING WITH VARIOUS THINGS The E key is used quite a lot. You can use it to open the rear doors of your last vehicle (it must be the last car you were in), and you can also use it to search trunks, get weapons from police car trunks, join ambient pursuits (hold it down), etc. F8 / PURSUIT TACTICS MENU When in an active pursuit, you can press F8 to bring up the pursuit tactics menu. This allows you to authorize and unauthorize lethal force, etc. Use the arrow keys to select an option and Return to confirm. SHIFT / TRAFFIC STOP You can press shift when behind a vehicle, in a police car, to attempt to pull it over.

Game crashes & Taser not working
It's just T, and follow the instructions here to manually install the Taser: LCPDFR Knowledge Base The "[ERROR - 1:19:45 PM] [] System.InvalidCastException: Unable to cast object of type 'freval_77' to type 'freval_89'." error is a known issue and we're looking into it.

LCPDFR 1.0 crashes in various situations
Yeah, go take a look through my post history, here: http://www.lcpdfr.com/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=user_activity&search_app=forums&mid=12&sid=d9d5690e7a112f7d00d8ba7c84ad2f2e&search_app_filters[forums][searchInKey]=&userMode=content Then, you can go and take a look through LMS' post history here: http://www.lcpdfr.com/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=user_activity&search_app=forums&mid=14&search_app_filters[forums][searchInKey]=&userMode=content Then go and count up the number of replies we've made to support topics in the last two days. You'll see that it's over 200. Then, if you still have the audacity, you can come back here and tell us we aren't doing many replies again. What other mods are you using?

How to manually install LCPDFR 1.0 using the manual installation package
NOTE: THIS IS A CONDENSED, SUPPLEMENTARY GUIDE. LCPDFR 1.0 COMES WITH A PDF GUIDE DETAILING HOW TO MANUALLY INSTALL IT. THIS GUIDE ALSO EXPLAINS HOW TO CONFIGURE LCPDFR 1.0 AFTER INSTALLING IT. IT CAN BE FOUND HERE: http://dl-03.x4b.lcpdfr.com/downloads/cache/4607/LCPDFR%20Manual%20Install%20Guide.pdf?st=kjmAyetrGdq2djSNKUfNTA&e=1388432600&p=2116&g17securedownload LCPDFR 1.0 comes in two forms: as an automatic installer, or as a manual installation package. If you're having trouble installing LCPDFR 1.0 with the installer, or if LCPDFR 1.0 doesn't work after using the installer, we recommend that you re-install using the manual installation package instead. This is actually really quick and easy to do. Install Microsoft .Net Framework 4.5 and Visual C++ Redistributable 2010 ( x86) and 2012 (x86) and DirectX runtimes If you do not already have these installed, or aren't sure, you should download them and install them from: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30653 http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679 (please only download and install the x86 one) http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555 http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35 LCPDFR 1.0 requires all of these to be installed before it can be installed. Downloading the LCPDFR 1.0 Manual Install Package You can download the manual install package here: http://www.lcpdfr.com/files/download/4607-lcpd-first-response/ Simply select 'LCPDFR 1.0 Manual Install.zip' from the list of files that is presented to you by clicking its download button after accepting the disclaimer: Extracting the LCPDFR 1.0 Manual Install Package Once the file has been downloaded, you'll need to extract it as it is a compressed (.zip) folder. To do this, simply right click on the file and select 'Extract all' if using Windows Compressed Folders utility, or by selecting 'Extract files...' if using WinRAR. Once the files have been extracted, you'll have a new folder called LCPDFR 1.0 Manual Install. Open this, and you'll see a list of files like so: Installing LCPDFR 1.0 with the LCPDFR 1.0 Manual Install Package To install LCPDFR 1.0, all you need to do now is select all of these files (CTRL + A), and copy them by pressing CTRL + C. Now, navigate to your root GTA IV directory, where GTAIV.exe or EFLC.exe is, and paste the files into it, being sure to replace any files it asks you to, like so: (note that the only files that will be replaced are LCPDFR files) Once this is complete, your GTA IV directory should now look like: Selecting an ASI Loader: You'll notice that there is a folder called 'LCPDFR Install (ASI Loaders). This contains two files (xlive.dll and dsound.dll) which are ASI loaders. They load ScriptHookDotNet.asi into the game, allowing it to load LCPDFR. You need to select one of these ASI loaders (xlive.dll also disables Games for Windows Live, useful if you don't play multiplayer and don't want annoyed by it, otherwise select dsound.dll) and place it into your root GTA IV directory. Once done, your GTA IV directory will now have all of the LCPDFR files and folders, as well was either xlive.dll OR dsound.dll. DO NOT USE BOTH. You can now delete the 'LCPDFR Install (ASI Loaders)' folder, and LCPDFR 1.0 is now installed.

How to manually install the LCPDFR Taser in LCPDFR 1.0
LCPDFR 1.0 features a change to the Taser where you no longer have to edit or modify any of the original game files. Instead, LCDPFR uses its own models.img, WeaponInfo.xml and definitions.ide to make the Taser available in the game. As LCPDFR now uses its own files, these have to be recognised by the game and as such, it is necessary to edit the data files (images.txt, default.dat and gta.dat respectively). Of course, the point of this change is that the original files do not need to be edited, so we use a file hook in AdvancedHookInit.asi to add a new line to each of the above files when the game is launched. This does not edit your files, but rather makes a copy of them called [filename].tmp, adds in the lines, and makes the game use those files instead. Unfortunately, this is causing just as many issues as the system before (that it was designed to fix), and is also causing a crash when you quit the game. These two issues can, however, be easily resolved, therefore, if this is causing problems, we recommend that you delete AdvancedHookInit.asi, and read on. Manually Installing the LCPDFR Taser After installing LCPDFR 1.0, you will have a folder in the game's 'PC' folder, called 'lcpdfr'. This folder contains all of the Taser files, and will look something like this: If you do not have this folder, or any of these three files are missing, please re-install LCPDFR 1.0 using the Manual Installation package. Each of these files has to be referenced in the game's core data files, so we can manually do this by editing them like so: First, navigate to the game's 'common' folder. In my case, it is found here: C:Program Files (x86)SteamSteamAppscommonGrand Theft Auto IVGTAIVcommon. It should look like this: Now, right click on the 'data' folder, to bring up the Properties window: In this window, make sure that the Attribute called 'Read-only', is unticked, like so: Then, click Apply, you will be presented with a new window: Make sure that the second option is selected here, and then click OK. Windows will then make the changes to the folder, allowing you to edit the files inside it. Once this is complete, you should navigate to the 'data' folder inside the 'common' folder, it will look like this: There are two ways in which you can manually install the LCPDFR Taser: Method 1: Download the already edited files: LCPDFR 1.0 Taser Data Files.zip Simply extract the folder somewhere, and copy the three data files in it to your common/data folder. Be sure to backup the original files first. Method 2: Make manual file edits: You will need to make three file edits, as explained below. You should backup these files before you edit them. Editing gta.dat: gta.dat contains a list of IDE definitions. We need to add the LCPDFR definitions.IDE to this file. To do this, you'll need to open the file in notepad, and then add the following line: IDE platform:/LCPDFR/DEFINITIONS.IDE AFTER THE LINE: IDE platform:/DATA/MAPS/PROPS/vegetation/Int_veg.IDE Your gta.dat file should now look like this: If so, save the file. Editing default.dat: default.dat contains file locations for important gameplay related files, such as car handling and weapons. We need to add the Taser WeaponInfo.xml file to this. To do this, you'll need to open the file in notepad, and then add the following line: WEAPONINFO platform:/lcpdfr/weaponinfo.xml AFTER THE LINE WEAPONINFO common:/data/weaponinfo.xml Once done, save the file. Editing images.txt: images.txt contains a list of image files, which contain things like models and textures. We need to add the Taser image file to this list so that the game can load the model. To do this, you'll need to open the file in notepad, and then add the following line: platformimg:/lcpdfr/models 1 AFTER THE LINE platformimg:/data/maps/east/bronx_w2 0 Now, save the file. Fixing the crash when you quit the game with the LCPDFR Taser installed: You might have noticed that when you quit the game, a message box comes up saying you are out of memory and you should reboot your system. This, obviously, is not the case, and you can simply just dismiss the error message. The game will close fine. Nonetheless, if you wish to fix this problem, the only way to do so is by adding the Taser model into the game like they were before in LCPDFR 1.0. Note that there are no detailed instructions on this, as we recommend for this users who are familiar with using a GTA IV .img editor, like OpenIV. If you are not familar with modifying the game's models and files, there are many tutorials available on this website, and others. You can add the LCPDFR Taser model to the game files by: Extracting lcpdfr_taser.wdr and lcpdfr_taser.wtd from models.img in the LCPDFR folder, using your favourite GTA IV img editor (OpenIV or SparkIV preferably). Adding lcpdfr_taser.wdr and lcpdfr_taser.wtd to weapons.img in your pc/models/cdimages folder, using your favourite GTA IV img editor (OpenIV or SparkIV preferably). After doing this, you'll need to add the Taser's WeaponInfo.xml into the game as well. You can do this by editing the existing WeaponInfo.xml file, adding the following section of code, so that it fits in with the rest of the weapon entries (this is important, it must come AFTER the opening <weaponinfo version="1"> tag and BEFORE the closing </weaponinfo> tag). <weapon type="UNUSED0"> <data slot="HANDGUN" firetype="INSTANT_HIT" damagetype="FIRE" group="PISTOL_SMALL" targetrange="8.0" weaponrange="8.0" clipsize="1" ammomax="1500" timebetweenshots="333"> <damage base="0" networkplayermod="3.0" networkpedmod="1.0"/> <physics force="0.0"/> <reload time="2000" fasttime="2000" crouchtime="2000"/> <aiming accuracy="0.25"> <offset x="0.0" y="1.0" z="0.0"/> <crouchedoffset x="0.0" y="1.0" z="0.0"/> <reticule standing="0.65" ducked="0.55" scale="0.3"/> </aiming> <pickup regentime="120000" ammoonstreet="30"/> <controller> <rumble duration="110" intensity="0.02"/> </controller> <flags> <flag>GUN</flag> <flag>CAN_AIM</flag> <flag>CAN_FREE_AIM</flag> <flag>ANIM_RELOAD</flag> <flag>ANIM_CROUCH_FIRE</flag> <flag>SILENCED</flag> </flags> </data> <assets model="lcpdfr_taser"> <anim group="gun@handgun" meleegroup1="firearm_core"/> <effects> <muzzle fx="ambient_flies_sparked"/> </effects> </assets> </weapon> Alternatively, you can download an already edited WeaponInfo.xml file, although be forewarned that any weapon modifications you are using will now use the default weapon settings and values: WeaponInfo.xml

LCPDFR 1.0 - Latest Update
You know, these have been a tough couple of days for us, especially myself and LMS. It is just incredible how something that works so well for yourself, and for all the testers, can work so horribly for others. Of course, the majority of the problems have been install related, but even still, it's just odd because I installed the public release version in full on my MacBook running Windows 8, just to test it out, and I can be happily playing away with the lighting control while at the same time seeing three threads about how it just crashes. It's truly bizarre. Oh well, at least its not as bad as .90 or .95, lol.

Ugh, it just doesn't make much sense really. A few people have said that installing this: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35, helps them out. Give it a try I suppose.

For now you're just going to do with forcing duty I think. We'll see what we can do about this tomorrow though.

Crashes
This is annoying, because there's nothing related to crashes in the LCPDFR log. Could you run it without mods and then give us the LCPDFR log and AdvancedHook log when it crashes next? Also, does it give any message when it crashes? E.g. Unrecoverable fault - restart the game, or whatever?

Cannot access "LCPD First Response.dll"
Can I see screenshots of your GTA IV install folder and scripts folder? Also, if you want a new log, just make a file called lcpdfr.log in there.
