  1. I'm pleased to see that for once it looks like we've fixed more than we've broken :)
  2. We've released a hotfix which addresses many issues reported to us regarding LCPDFR 1.0 and LCPDFR 1.0a. The hotfix, LCPDFR 1.0b, is the second patch for LCPDFR 1.0 and in specific, this release includes some bug fixes and some changes requested by many of our players. See title="">http://www.lcpdfr.co...first-response/ for a more detailed look at the changes, and to download the hotfix. Unlike LCPDFR 1.0a, this release includes an updated and all-new installer, built on a new framework which we hope should resolve problems some people were having especially as it relates to 32 bit systems. With the new framework we've built the installer around, included is OpenCandy, an integrated plugin for developers to help with development costs. The software, which recommends a program during the installation of LCPDFR, much like Google Ads might recommend a product, is optional and can be avoided entirely by using the alternative installer. Installing the promoted software will give us a small amount of money. Of course, as this is a new installer, we're very much in a testing phase and saw it fit to use the release of a patch as a good opportunity to test the software. Aside from that, LCPDFR 1.0b introduces some much requested features and fixes including the option to disable the police radio chatter, a fix for the world event camera activating when you're driving and indeed, the option to disable it entirely. As always, please report problems to us in the LCPDFR support section.
  3. You can turn down the game SFX volume setting. LCPDFR's radio runs as a separate entity so it won't be affected by this.
  4. I don't get it to be honest. All you seem to do is go to calls as a lone wolf and beat people to death with a bat. You could do that in normal single player with the police computer missions. Is there really much point in having LCPDFR and other scripts in when you ignore everything going on with them as it relates to the AI cops? The point of LCPDFR is that you can be part of the LCPD and have the other officers support you and you support them.
  5. What's Obama going to do? It's pretty much "Stop or I'll tell you to stop again". You can just picture Sergei Lavrov sighing, saying "whatever" and hanging up the phone. I don't think Putin is the sort of person that loses sleep over the prospect of not being in the G8, especially when he has the valves to half of Europe's gas.
  6. As a quick note from a moderation perspective, if you can't help yourself from discriminating based on gender, then don't post. I really don't care if you're quoting lyrics or whatever, keep the hate speech out. Putting a bunch of people into a single box and calling them bitches because they are of a different gender isn't how we as a society should be in the 21st century.
  7. We had to remove this because of the problem where the extra police cars would start spawning in normal traffic. Minus the APC (I think), the game isn't set up to support use of the extra cars in normal single player gameplay, and eventually they will spawn with ghost drivers as normal traffic.
  8. I briefly talked about this here: > I do still recommend staying away from trying to add water based functionality as LCPDFR isn't ready to support it and it'd cause a lot of problems with the AI. This is very much something that is on my list of things to do though.
  9. Absolutely, I think 1.0 only really scratches the surface in terms of the depth that the mod could go into, but getting this far was a big challenge, and it's going to be a very nice base to build on for future releases once all of the kinks are worked out. There's a lot of things that I'd like to do, but I think the wanted levels are going to be the place to start, and I'll see if I can get the ball rolling with it.
  10. Your fonts and colours are a bit off:
  11. I did something like this a while ago. Maybe you can take some ideas and inspiration from there.
  12. We'll definitely fix this so it doesn't interrupt you at important times.
  13. You know the whole situation is bad when each member of the five eyes has another member of the group spy on its own citizens. It's not like the NSA acknowledge and respect the fact that spying on US citizens in the US is illegal, instead they just have someone else do it. I don't think anyone should trust the NSA when they don't even respect the constitution or the principles of the country in which they operate. The funny thing, though, is that most people will simply keep on saying their pledge of allegiance and worshiping their flag and be entirely accepting of the fact that people who don't are terrorists. Also, Mutsu said "We are in the top 3 in population - which is a big, big number; therefore, we need a government that will watch over us and find out if anything suspicious is happening." I would argue that this shouldn't really be the top priority of your federal government right now. How about providing a basic level of universal healthcare to your citizens, how about stopping the spree of shootings throughout the country, or how about setting up proper regulation of authorities so that things like this don't even get off the ground in the first place. Everyone knows that the NSA, FBI and even local police can act without impunity in the US. There's no regulation of law enforcement at all and agencies are just free to make up their own rules on the spot, no matter how outlandish they are. The NSA does this, the FBI does this (see Waco, Ruby Ridge) and the LAPD/SBCSD did this by shooting up innocent people in the Dorner manhunt, and then burning the guy alive in a cabin.
  14. Not entirely true. All ped data is randomly generated at first, and then while a ped is in memory, their data is saved to them. If you pulled over the same ped twice, you would actually notice that their times pulled over statistic had increased. All ped data is lost, though, when the ped is discarded from memory (so even although a hotdog seller standing in Star Junction all day might be the same person from your perspective, it'll be a different one as far as the game is concerned as he will be spawned and despawned as you get closer and further away).
  15. I set NB a challenge for his Prison Architect videos, can he save Lockville? Lockville Penitentiary is a bit of a mess. It houses 95 maximum security prisoners in a 'city like' environment, with individual cell buildings located along paths. I didn't really have any rational logic in mind when building it, so it is a hugely inefficient prison, requiring at least 50 guards for a minimal level of security.
  16. While the pursuit system being completely overhauled in LCPDFR 1.0 has no doubt provided a much richer experience, I've been looking at ways to further enhance this, to bring out the true potential of the mod. At the moment, my idea is to implement wanted levels in LCPDFR, similar to those in GTA IV, ranging from 1 to 6 stars. Each ped would have a wanted level attribute so to speak, which would be 0 by default, and 6 at maximum. In addition to this, a 'deadly force' attribute would also exist, which would be off by default, and only triggered on when necessary (e.g. the suspect shoots at officers). This would mean that a suspect could have a 6 star wanted level, but deadly force would not be used. 1 Star Gained for minor infractions. Nearby or responding officers will attempt to reprimand (verbal warning) the suspect. If the suspect is in a vehicle, officers will attempt to locate the vehicle and stop it, and then issue a warning. Determined attempts to locate the suspect will not be made and officers will give up relatively quickly. Small search area. 2 Star Gained for minor misdemeanors. Nearby or responding officers will attempt to reprimand and ticket the suspect. If the suspect is in a vehicle, officers will attempt to locate the vehicle and stop it, and then issue a ticket. Officers will be more determined to ticket the suspect. Small search area. 3 Star Gained for any arrestable offence, or resisting a 1 or 2 star wanted level. Officers will attempt to arrest the suspect. If the suspect is in a vehicle, officers will attempt to locate the vehicle and stop it, then arrest the suspect. Determined attempts will be made to locate the suspect. Specialist units will become involved if nearby. Medium sized search area. 4 Star Gained for serious crimes or resisting a 3 star wanted level. Officers will attempt to arrest the suspect. If the suspect is in a vehicle, officers will attempt to locate the vehicle and stop it, then arrest the suspect. Determined attempts will be made to locate the suspect. Advanced tactics will be used, including helicopters and roadblocks. Specialist units will be actively involved. Medium sized search area. 5 Star Gained at the instruction of pursuing officers. Large search area. 6 Star Gained at the instruction of pursuing officers. Officers will attempt to arrest the suspect. If the suspect is in a vehicle, officers will attempt to locate the vehicle and stop it, then arrest the suspect. Determined attempts will be made to locate the suspect. Advanced tactics will be used, including helicopters and roadblocks. LCPD units will play a lesser role. Specialist units will play a major role. Very large search area. In addition to this, enabling deadly force on a suspect will result in an instant 3 star wanted level. Anyway, the point of posting this was to get some suggestions and feedback on the proposal, which I think will be a much better way of doing things.
  17. Watched Felony Friday #4 for the possibility of seeing a classic Danish Ragequit. Was very disappointed.
  18. I can feel it in the air tonight... (sidenote: I'm finding it hard to contain my disappointment upon realising there's no musical note smiley)
  19. This forum is only for people to showcase their in-development or released modifications. I've moved your topic to the Development Support and Requests forum.
  20. The fact that he's having to ask what is bad shows how nobody knows how to properly provide criticism. You don't need to be mean either, Khanage, you can provide criticism by being honest. In my opinion, the skin does need some work. It doesn't bear much resemblence to the cars from GTA V. The bright yellow text at the front and back looks out of place. I think the blue and yellow lines should be closer together as well, and more accurately follow the shape of the car.
  21. I'd recommend against doing any water based things at the moment. LCPDFR doesn't have any support for boats or anything happening on the water, and it would probably cause a few problems. I hope to introduce support for that in the next version though.
  22. You should probably have asked this in a different thread rather than 'hijacking' winrrar808's one. It doesn't matter whether or not you have illegal or legal copies at the lowest level of analysis. The thing that matters though is that illegal copies tend to have problems, errors, viruses, etc. That, and we won't support people that have illegal copies as without people actually paying for the game, this PC version of it wouldn't exist.
  23. All the effort, resources and money going into capturing the guy. All the medical treatment, all the security for him and his trial, it must add up to a phenomenal amount of money. Seems pretty odd just to kill him straight after. I don't think it should be up to the federal government whether or not he gets put to death upon a conviction.
  24. I don't really think there's any circumstances where I could justify recommending someone get an iMac when the primary purpose (or at least one purpose) is gaming. The hardware is mediocre in terms of graphics power, and you'd be crazy to pay top dollar for something that's going to perform at a mediocre level in games like GTA IV. You could easily build a high spec PC for the same price or less.
