Controller not doing LSPDFR actions

Featured Replies

I have a PS4 controller hooked up to my PC (no programs to custom bind it, just basic usb cable to pc). The controller key binds work for base GTA 5 actions but not LSPDFR.

Edit: I only have LSPDFR installed. No Plugins, no other mods, nothing.

Just a suggestion, I'd ditch the PS4 controller and get a wired Xbox controller. I used to use my PS4 controller on GTA V for PC (with LSPDFR) and had lots of mapping and compatibility problems. Mine was just $30.

Yeah agreed I use a Xbox360 wired and have never had problems.

That shouldn't be necessary. The LSPDFR 0.4 character creator is still responding to my controller inputs for example (not to mention everything worked just fine with 0.3). Also I just prefer the symmetrical layout of the PS4 controller. Much more comfortable for me personally 😕

Are you able to give a specific list of what doesn't work?

I use an Xbox one wireless controller with rechargeable batteries. No issue with that. I’m sorry you’re having troubles with the PS4 one

What works:

- The LSPDFR character creator

- Entering/exiting the LSPDFR apartment

- Interacting with things inside the LSPDFR apartment (having a drink, turning radio on/off etc.)

- Scrolling through and selecting options in the various LSPDFR menus (backup menu, traffic stop menu etc.)

- Buying stuff in stores

- Washing your car

What doesn't work:

- Blipping vehicles to pull them over

- Accessing the police computer

- Accepting callouts

- Opening the various LSPDFR menus (backup menu, traffic stop menu etc.)

- Stopping suspects

- Interacting with a stopped suspect (detaining & frisking)

- Arresting suspects

Thank you for the list.  I'm not by any means certain of this but I think only Xbox One controllers are officially supported and I suspect that is what is causing the issues here.  The controls that don't work for you are ones that are configurable in the .ini and these configurations use Xbox controller keys.  I will take a further look into this when I get the chance.

Okay, thank you. The odd thing is that everything used to work in 0.3, so I hope it might be possible to get it to work somehow.

They use different systems.  0.3 didn't have configurable keys like 0.4 does.

Yeah this is what I was experiencing when I created the post. Same issues.

I found a fix. Download and install DS4Windows, plug in your PS4 controller and install the driver. Once it's done, restart your PC, launch DS4Windows and then launch GTA V. Everything should now be working, although you might want to change a few of the keybindings in the lspdfr.ini file.

Nice one. I was going to suggest that you get a program that uses Xbox inputs for your PS4 controller so it works with LSPDFR. I think you've already done it though.

Yea, it gets the job done. Hardly a perfect solution since you can't reconnect your controller if you accidentally un-plug the cable or the battery runs out, without you having to restart your game for example - but it's certainly better than nothig.

Probably best to just get a wired Xbox360 controller for like 30$ imo

I don't know, I like my PS4 controller. I might get a bluetooth dongle though, so I wouldn't have to worry about the cable.

Good to hear that you have found a solution, I will add it to the list 🙂
