Arrest Manager or Stop The Ped

Featured Replies

Hey all,

I have just taken the plunge and finally updated to 0.4 from the previous version. I have installed all that works, big thanks to Albo and Benzo for the awesome tutorials. Like others I keep getting the conflict between Arrest Manager and Stop The Ped saying it could cause duplication or conflicts. Are both really required? Or can I get away with using one? I have also read somewhere that if I use PoliceSmartRadio then that is kind of a work around so as I can use both.

I am unsure as to which plugin to use as I think both are awesome. What would you guys advise? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

Kind regards all.

  • Just use both and use SmartPoliceRadio, yep. The conflicts are the EMS, Tow & Coroner radio calls but SmartPoliceRadio puts everything into one list anyway! Both STP and AM both have great feature

  • Awesome, thanks @sssneaky for your advice, and thanks for replying to my post so swiftly. *Thumbs Up*

You could probably get away without using arrest manager and use the default 0.4 arrest points with prisoner transport. I found that my frame rate would drop a lot using that plugin but removing it gave a boost in performance, I think Stop the Ped uses similar functions to arrest manager hence why you receive a notification regarding duplicates.

i would recommend to only use one of them to avoid conflict and performance loss.

Yep I have been doing testing all day and I've found there's no need for Arrest Manager and it causes conflicts with StopThePed that crashes LSPDFR. Also gained a performance boost not using it!

That would indeed explain why my game has been crashing at times. Stop the Ped it is then. I am guessing this is kind of a successor to Arrest Manager, or at least something very similar. I shall try without it. My next thing is to get EUP  into my game and Open IV so as I can start using some nice vehicle mods and uniforms.

Thanks for all your advice guys, and thanks @sssneakyfor carrying out tests on these mods. I really appreciate that. It's been a massive help in me deciding which mod I am going to use out of the two. As I have just said Stop The Ped will be the mod I use. Thanks again guys.

Kind regards.

Edit: I nearly forgot to mention, although it is slightly going off topic as far as this thread is concerned. Feel free to PM me, however, I use an XBox controller extensively with a lot of games on PC, including GTA5/LSPDFR. I am trying to find a decent(ish) set up for button bindings for the various actions. I do plan on using the keyboard for certain actions, but plan on using the controller for driving and a lot of other functions of LSPDFR. Not sure what you guys think. As I say feel free to PM so as this thread remains on topic, or closed seeing as I have now decided on which mod I am using.

Non double posting

I'll throw in argument for the opposite side as I went through this and decided on ditching both stop the ped and ultimate backup for arrest manager + stock lsdpfr backup menu

for me, arresting peds felt very glitchy with stop the ped and when I called for transports they would only pick up one person at a time where as I think the transports from arrest manager are a bit more flexible (but I may be remembering wrong), all of the extra menus in stop the ped kinda felt like a lot of extra 'noise' or friction in the way of playing too, though I can clearly see some of the benefits it brings, I decided I preferred just using arrest manager

I use controller but only for driving and then I switch back to keyboard as soon as a the pursuit or drive ends. There's only so much you can do to modify the controls on controller and I find that when you also use things like ELS to many buttons get in the way so i've disabled everything on my controller through the ini files apart from driving functions and ELS controls. But you can modify the buttons through the ini so you can only use controller. It's iffy though.

You can do that but you miss out on a lot of functionality with interacting with peds and being able to control them. I've ditched arrest manager now and the game's working great. Also arrest manager causes huge FPS drops in my experience.

What I may do is try both sides of the argument out, I know I am back tracking on what I said in my previous post. Although having said that prior to 0.4 and StopThe Ped, Ult Back Up etc, there only ever was Arrest Manager which I used. So tbh I should know that. Having said that, it has been awhile since I last played LSPDFR or GTA for that matter. Try about 2 years or so. So really I class this as coming in brand new.

I think I will try both methods out and see which I feel is better. Or more feasible to control using a mix of controller and keyboard and mouse (M/K). I do plan on using ELS  so I am thinking of just enabling my controller for the likes of driving and the use of the lights, sirens etc. The only thing I wonder is how difficult it may be, when in a high speed pursuit, to use the keyboard and the respective keys to call for backup, spike strips, air units etc. Not sure on that one. But yea I think I  will go with your advice on controller for driving, lights, and sirens. Then use (M/K) for all the other interactions etc.

I guess it also depends on how many plugins I use. The more I use, then the more keybindings I will need I guess. I certainly won't be going crazy on the amount of plugins. Maybe 10 tops plus Callouts. I don't know yet, maybe I might just add a few at a time and see how things go. Then when I reach a limit whereby controlling the game is becoming a little too much then stop.

Just remove the Arrest Manager files.

So guys, im trying to keep StopThePed and got seduced by the VocalDispatch plugin, so it request me to add Arrest Manager for its needed features. Due to the duplication error, im forced to remove the StopThePed plugin. Although I see many got their StopThePed plugin working with Arrest Manager or did they removed the Arrest Manager and kept StopThePed with the VocalDispatch plugin? Can anyone give me an answer to this problem? Here someone using StopThePed and VoiceDispatch and may has Arrest Manager at the same time...

Actively on GTA IV but prefering LSPDFR over LCPDFR

There's not much answer to this, to my knowledge. ArrestManager is flatly incompatible with other mods, so it got the axe in my installation. Even so - stopping, detaining, arresting, and processing a PED are all features early in development and supported only by a buggy patchwork of LSPDFR plugins.

STP, LSPDFR+, TrafficPolicer, and LSPDFR all ooverlap and create a lot of bugs in PED states as they already are. Even with STP's supposed ability to supplant LSPDFR (it dooesn't work with me at all.)

I'd say just axe Arrest Manager, as it's the odd one out. Vocaldispatch is fun, but I'd rather have computer+ work as companion to LSPDFR+'s half-developed features. (Or interaction+, which I imagine also breaks ArrestManager.)

Until EVERYONE cleans their shit up and decides who's going to own that functionality (seriously, LSPDFR should just absorb and open it up to us...), this is the situation everyone's going to find themselves in.

Ok thanks for this solution. Also realized that the VoiceDispatch mod isnt updated for my LSPFR 0.4.2, so no use for it rn meh.

mine usually does this when my wfi stops working.

just like to mod lspdfr, play lspdfr, and occasionally leave reviews.

  • Make sure your PC is connected to the internet
  • Make sure STP dll file is unblocked
  • Add STP to the exception list of your firewall/anti-virus
  • Change your DNS Server on your PC or your router. Try 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1

honestly this is my biggest problem with lsdpfr right now, some callouts just end early, some peds just 'bug out' and stop being arrested, all the mods do such cool stuff but it all feels so loose and unconnected, it's frustrating and immersion breaking to be honest
