If I was you, I'd report it. Around here, if you fight, you'll both get in trouble, no matter who started it. But this may not apply to your area.

Tell a school police officer, police officer, teacher, staff member, parent, or anyone who you feel okay telling.

If you respect the laws, then you'll report it and move on. Nobody needs to get harassed, and nobody needs to get assaulted. Bullying is becoming a big deal these days because more kids are getting suicidal over it. Report it to a school administrator and your parents. Police are definitely an option, but I'd wait a bit before jumping the gun on that. People say a lot of crap on XBOX Live. They're all a bunch of kids on there anyway. That's why I play multiplayer games on PC in a private VOIP server.

*If* you do fight it out, make sure he takes the first swing. That is all.

School punishments systems generally don't care about self-defence. Anyone who is violent, regardless of the reason is usually punished. This is why it doesn't work the way people glorify it to.

Judging by how old these kids 'sound' I don't think a scuffle between them would become a police matter either.

I'm not saying that both parties wont get in trouble, but there may be a chance that the aggressor may get punished a little more. Then again, maybe not. It depends on the area, the rules, etc. This is all pretty much theothetical anyways.

Also, this should only be a last resort anyways.

If your under the age of 18 and you were to get charged for assault, it really doesn't matter cause your record get's wiped clean once you turn 18, and i think the police would understand, anti bullying is so big now due to the amount of victims bullying has claimed, straightup fucks with your head, bottom line, kid's can be cruel VERY cruel, when i was in grade 6 a couple kids played a prank on me, an evil prank, it was my last day until spring break, one of the kids was handing out little candy bar's and he was ever so nice and laced it with laxatives, the worst part of it was when i had my whole class of 30 kids laughing at me as i was getting sick in the washroom, after i was done with the kid that did it, not one kid ever bothered me again.. sometimes, ya gotta do what ya gotta do to at least have a little pride left..

If i was in your shoes, i would go up to him looking angry as f@*k and ask him what his problem is. He probably wont expect you to face up to him. And if he mouths off and you think he going to hit you, then hit him first, Also save all the messages he has said for when the teacher gets involved or the police, bullies wont leave you alone till you retaliate back. thats just my opinion.

Okay man. I have been talking around for you. And all my guys agree. Tell the police! If you report this to the police, they will document it. I have had a few incidents with the police where something needed to be documented. If you document something and then the something keeps happening again. They start noticing the papers getting bigger. I hate the jacked up stalker and bullying and harassment etc. etc. laws too... But I would hope your local department would soon see that guys list getting longer, and finally do something about it.

Im not sure about other countries but your record will not get wiped clean after 18 in the U.S.

If you are charged and convicted its on your record and stays. It gets sealed but I cant remember if it happens automatically when you turn 18 or you have to get a court to seal it. (its been awhile since I worked in law enforcement so my memory isnt what it use to be)

Actually there is a law against communicating threats so its not just a matter of he said she said. Wether it be in person, over the phone or the internet.

My advice, report the matter to your local police dept (or Sheriffs dept if you live out of city limits) and also to your parents and School.

If you go to school and pop the guy in the mouth, you can be charged with assault and battery should the matter be taken to court.

If you want to join law enforcement the last thing you want on your record (along with a host of other disqualifying offenses) is an assault charge as whatever dept you are applying for will look at that.

Just checked, you have to petition the court to have your juvenile record sealed when you reach 18 as its not automatic.

A charge can also be expunged from your record IF granted by a judge.

Really? cause if you are charged underage with a criminal offense such as assault that considered juvenile, nobody is perfect, Police Department's know that, just because you got into a scrap as a youth doesn't mean you can't be a Police Officer, or do what you wanna do as a government employee.

unless you want too be a member of the FBI then you have to be pretty much perfect, the RCMP, well they are Canada's "Federal" Police Force and are crooked as hell..

Nobody is perfect you are correct, however what you have to keep in mind is you are competing with other potential applicants for the job. If the next guy applying has the same credentials as you but doesnt have any charges, who is gonna be leaned in favor of for the job?

While one scrap as a youth might go overlooked, They look at your record as a whole. If your record is showing a pattern of violent behavior, the last thing they want to do is give you a job carrying a gun. But Every Dept has different regulations in what they deem a disqualifying offense for working with them.

While I cant speak for other states or countries LE agencies, most depts in NC subject you to a thorough background check (criminal and a credit check), aswell as polygraph and a visit to a psychiatrist to deterrmine your state of mind. (never in my life have I been asked such ridiculous questions as he asked lol)

Dont have any knowledge of the RCMP but as much as I hate to say it, there are bad apples in every walks of life including LEO's.

Good point, but Police training is both competitive mentally and physically, if you have a troubled background but pass the P.A.R.E with flying colours, i think that may also be the downside to the RCMP, if you want to learn more about the Notorious RCMP, if you google RCMP Scandals you will get awhole list of everything that is wrong with our (Canada) Police Force (RCMP)

Found a whole wiki page devoted to RCMP controversies.

It reminds me of an Edmund Burke saying that I admire

"All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing"

OR.....you can take him far out in the woods, tie him to a tree and dont feed him for a couple of days...see what he says then. (dont actually do this....was ment as a joke)

Suspensions are worse than they look. Even if you're gone for just a week you get 0's on all work during that time.
