I guess it's better than other countries approaches of doing nothing and expecting that the outcome will be different.

You would think that with all the CCW custom AR-15 EDC go-bag #sheepdog #pewpewlife tactical operators in the country that we’d be safer.

Smug much?, lmao. Love that passive aggressive  self righteous tone i get from you UK/France lads. You just straight up HATE Americans and guns don't you?. At least our citizens can defend themselves unlike yours. While the US police fight real crime with REAL weapons, your police get beaten up and confiscate pencils that are too long. Below is a REAL twitter post from some police division in the UK. It's laughable. Knife control was not enough, now it's vehicles near government buildings and anything else. Thank god some plumbers equipment was taken off the streets. #LondonIsSafeNow.

These items were found during a #weaponSweep near #MackworthHouse #AugustasSt during #OpSceptre . Safely disposed and taken off the streets

Firstly, don't try and play victim because somebody calls you out on the things you say - I don't hate Americans and I am not the one who reguarly posts anti-uk and europe stuff even though your country is far from perfect, and when I say far I mean like really, really far. Now just to break down that twitter post you quoted - I can bet you for a fact that they are seized from people who have no reason to be carrying them, people who aren't handymen who are likely part of a gang who won't be able to bring up one valid reason on why they need to be carrying them around, you'll probably say it's anti-freedom but I call it great police work.

I don't see how you can complain about a country that actually tries to solve an issue instead of just sitting back and letting it happen time an time again, different cultures I guess.

I like the fact you say it comes from a REAL twitter post from some police division in the UK, but instead of putting the link to said twitter post, you just quote it, with the complete impossibility for us to check if that's actually true or not. Typical alternate news propaganda. But don't you worry, police in Europe doesn't get "beaten up". Not more than the US police. On the other side though, our officers don't get shot dead, on the contrary of US police officers. But hey, you do you.

Well the way that those countries have tried, to fix something, has failed.  And I know what you are talking about with the whole " just sitting back and letting it happen time an time again" and you know that you can do absolutely nothing to keep evil people (or should I say BAD people) from doing horrid acts of violence to others.

Be kind, Rewind.....

  • 4 weeks later...

I was in the UK during that incident and visited London (and walked the exact same street only 2 days before this happened).

It was my first stay in the UK (1 month), but I have to say, some of the laws that are supposed to prevent attacks etc. are very strange. You want to buy a kitchen knife or even a simple scissors at the supermarket? You have to show your I.D.

I really do not think that a regulation like this will help preventing anything.

Same goes for the strict 'no underage drinking policy". The fines for selling alcohol to underage persons or the attempt to buy will result in huge tickets. 22-year-old students are asked for an I.D. when they want to buy a couple of beers (legal from the age of 16 in Germany, with parents 14)
