master1114 got a reaction from Officer GILLETTE ABDI in oldest police vehicle currently in service?Sorry for interrupting the US show 😉
Near my city is one of the states police schools. Usually, a lot of unmarked cars (service vehicles) and police buses are driving around, but sometimes you will actually see an old vehicle that they are using (at least that is what I am assuming) for training purposes. Like this older BMW.

master1114 got a reaction from Break in How to motivateI have been a part of the LCPDFR and LSPDFR community for quite some time now. I always wanted to "give the community something back" instead of only using the plugins and mods that others create. Many people invest a lot of time into their stuff and thousends of people can improve their gameplay with it.
As a computer science student in the 4th/5th semester (Java Development). I already have the basics when it comes to programming. Wich means that I dont need to take time to learn something about programming. This should make me quite suitable for a job like that. So I starded in September 2016 for about one week with a project called AlphaCallouts. It took me some effort but with the help in the forum, I finally got my first, pretty unique callout to run. Happy as I was, I started the next one, nearly finished it aswell. At this point I was very hyped to join like the "high class of content creaters on lspdfr" (please dont take that too seriously). I tested my stuff over and over again, and worked on it. Then it came across a bug that made my game crash. At the same time, my vacation ended and I had to start the 3rd semester at the university. I didnt touch my project for quite a while. Having to do with coding and software development all day doesnt make you want to come home and work on coding again. What that means is that I completly abandoned my small project. I wouldnt say it was on purpose, it just wasnt doable for me. I always thought about getting started again, and my inner me always reminded me how "cool" it would be to have a plugin finally finished and open to download, but that were only thoughts.
And there we are. Its about 10 months later, and the situation hasent changed at all. I opened my IDE today, took a quick look at the project and closed it again. I wonder how you motivate to get ypur projects done. My will is still the same and I dont know why I cant motivate myself. You should think that the "happiness" once the project is finished should be enough as motivaten but somehow it wont work for me.
Callout plugins have always been important to LSPDFR because if u play alot, you dont want the same callouts to popup over and over again. We already have a good variety of callouts, but some are better than others and even the best callouts are used up after some time. So I think having a refreshment from time to time would be cool. I have so many ideads of callouts that are pretty unique and have some twists that are currently not in the game, but how can I get them out?
This has been a lot of personal talking and stuff, but I feel like I need someone to talk about this. So if anyone has suggestions, any ideas or something then hit me up with it. Or maybe someone plans on creating a new callout plugin and needs some ideas for his callouts, I´d be glad to assist him.

Well, in comparison to other countries, the USA for example, German LEO's are pretty Well trained.
The average training in the US is ridicolous 6 month.
But there has always been a huge lack of lights on German popo cars.
Those huge lightbars with actual only to lights on it and in the centre the message board.
You can see the text only if you're close enough.
And it's something special to have grill lights on it.
But they must be mounten at least 65 cm over the ground and MUST flash simultanisley(?).
Dash lights are prohibited and only alternate or together is allowed on the lightbar.
And only blue, no red.
Some State Polices started to have amber at the 4 corners on the lightbar.
But that's pretty it.
Very poor because of stupid regulations from the slow and conservative Amtsschimmel.

master1114 got a reaction from sjain in Very high graphic settings dont look as good as they shouldAs I said, I played aound with the settings alot but no difference. For the other points: The GPU is brand new, drivers up to date, GPU uses a custom setting for the game so I am like 99% sure its the game itself causing trouble^^
I am going to reinstall the game tomorrow I guess, when I finished downloading the 70 GB.

master1114 got a reaction from sjain in Very high graphic settings dont look as good as they shouldMy "problem" might sound a bit strange/weird in the first place, but actually it is currently a very confusing problem for me.
I used to play GTA on a Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition. It definitly didnt performed too good, but I was able to run the game on low-mid settings. During nighttime inner city i definitly had some fps drops but overall it was playable and I didnt mind about the way the game was looking too much.
I got a new grafics card a couple of days ago. Its a Radeon RX 480 Gamig X 8 GB. It might not be a high-end GPU, but it is definitly powerfull enough for everything that is currently out there. Of course I got into GTA and was looking forward to see the game on high end settings. There are a lot of Videos/Screenshots our there that show how good the game can be looking, especially with VisualV etc.
Long story short: I went ahead and put up the grafic settings. I started LSPDFR, went on duty and the FPS were really good. Textures looking fine aswell. So I start driving around, and start to notice that some things didnt change at all. The distance view is pretty bad. I didnt had a sharp view at all. Its kind of washed up and blurred. I also notice that on the roads right infront of me, they also seem to be blurred expecially when moving. Also, there is alot of flickering on edges, especially on clothing or fences or road/sidewalk edges.
I tried playing around with different settings, like increse someting, decrese something else, etc, but tbh I didnt see much of a difference.
There are a ton of topics on the internet with even more different recommendations what to do, what settings to change. But that istn really helpfull scince there is a lot of different stuff.
So if someone might have had a similar problem or knows what some "good" settings are for the game I would be very thankfull

master1114 got a reaction from PileDriver in Skoda cars around the worldThere are alot of memes here about that whole topic. I dont get it anyways. The US isnt known for their great rules about economic stfuff and yet everyone looses their mind. VW did fuck up with their manipulation but I personally think the rest of the car industry is like "Oh look at VW, those bad guys did some manipulations on their tests and stuff. Thats so horrible. Oh, and please dont look closer into our stuff. Please. Dont. We do everything correctly. We promise!!!"
But yeah, you are right, maybe they just replace all of their VWs with Skoda :D And then its like the situation here, you can decide if you buy a VW or buy a WV with Skoda logo and save 20% ^^
Besides that, if I would ever be asked if I want an american car, I would choose this:
Its not even that super-expensive as an import into germany for what its specs promise, but the costs for fuel are the real problem I guess^^
-
master1114 reacted to PileDriver in Skoda cars around the worldI dig the Kodiaq. That would make a cool squad.
As for your car... Well for starters, not many consistently hit that 50mpg mark without being a hybrid, which means more expensive. But a comparable car would be the Golf of course, being same parent company and all. A VW Golf with similar options would be around $19,000-20,000 USD, but they only have an estimate of 35mpg.
Just some averages of cars in similar size/options I saw quick from my dealership group and nearby dealers (mpg's are EPA highway estimate):
-Toyota Yaris: 38mpg, $17,000
-Ford Fiesta: Unreliable, 40 mpg = $16,000
-Chevy Sonic: $18,000
-Honda Fit: $18,000 (38 mpg)
-Mitsubishi Mirage: $15,000 (41mpg) (Ugly, look and feel cheap, actually drove one of these once)
Your Fabia looks better than all of these too, in my opinion. It must be some kind of EPA/emissions garbage preventing those from being sold here, because especially after doing this, I think it would do well here. But what do I know, I daily drive a land yacht.

master1114 got a reaction from PileDriver in Skoda cars around the worldTo indtrouce this thread, I might need to go a bit wide in the story :)
Im 20 yo and I got my first own car in oktober 2015. When you have an own car, you automatically pay attention to how many other cars of your brand are around. I started to realized how many Skodas are driving around in Germany. The brand is selling more and more cars each year in Europe and around the world and they are pretty sucessfull. I mean, why wouldnt they. They take 5% Skoda Design, 5% Skoda Technology and 90% VW Technology and sell it for way less then what an equal VW would be.
I scrolled around the forum and read some topics about police cars today. And then I had a brainwave and wanted to know how the newest Skoda car would as a police car.
Yes, my photoshop abilities are absolutly terrible and I basically didnt put any afford in in^^ And its not even the point. I would like to know your infos about Skoda around the world. Are they seen in other contries (like U.S.?). They barely sell them outside of Europe and Asia I guess so I am exited for any answers.
And in general, what do you think about these cars? At least designwise, going into technical details would be kind of pointless ^^
(This is the car I own, not this one, but the model and Edition (Skoda Fabia III Edition)
(Skoda Kodiaq)
(Skoda Octavia)

master1114 got a reaction from NeulandInternet in Freeway traffic jam prewarningHey.
Yesterday on my way home I saw a patrol car on the shoulder of the freeway warning for an upcoming traffic jam, so people can take the offramp if they dont want to wait. Thats nothing special here but I thought about other countries. Does this also happen in other contries? And wich kind of vehicles/technologies are used for that? I know in France exist a lot of those LED screens above the highway so there is no need for that. But I dont have any idea about the US for example.
In germany, the "Highway Police" either uses Vans with big LED screens on the top or regular patrol cars equipped with smaller LEDS panels, where they write "ACHTUNG" - "STAU" (Attantion - Traffic jam).
Oh, and besides that: Are there any models for GTA V with something like that?
Here are some pictures of what I am talking about:
-
master1114 got a reaction from NeulandInternet in Freeway traffic jam prewarningI think electronic signs are a pretty good think. Actually, on some routes the also exist in germany but the coversage is way lower than in other countries.
The "mobile system" is also not always used, obviously they dont always have a unit to go out and sit on the side of the street for hours

master1114 got a reaction from NeulandInternet in What are your thoughts on my local police here in Germany?I wonder why the new cars (at least I assume they are new) only have that neon yellow in the back. It makes sense for higher visability, but that does not ony apply to the back. Where I live (Für die Deutschen: Region Zwickau/Erzgebirgskreis) , all the new cars have it also on the sides and a bit on the hood.
