Moving Spotlights on Models?

Featured Replies

So recently I've been thinking about the possibility of movable spotlights on models. I'm no modeler, so this may be completely impossible, though I hope it's not. Maybe this would be in conjunction with a plugin that gives the player the ability to move the spotlight? I know this would most definitely add to the immersion and realism inside the game! I think we all have a preference on the positioning of the spots and this would make for a great addition to GTA modding.

If you have any additional thoughts on this topic please reply to it, even if it's saying this is in no way possible.

Anyways, just an idea.

Regards,

TJ

I have been wanting to do this for a long time, especially considering with all of the unlocked interior lighting with take down capabilities not facing the proper way and no solution to fixing that just yet this would be a really neat thing to be able to do but as far as I know it isn't possible. There is a spotlight script available that last time I checked still worked though. It just means modelers have to position the spotlights to face forward on models instead of folded down or at weird angles.

Yes, I love that script! I've had it since I first started modding. Just curious if it could be like a wheel where it moves with certain controls, etc. Thanks for the reply!

There's nothing that I know of that we're able to do in Zmodeler itself, even with ELS and the message board system. It very well could be a possibility but I'm very doubtful unless Cockstar themselves implanted something like that which I don't see happening.

I could think of two possibilities. One is that if I spotlight is given a certain name, etc in zmodeler that a script would be able to recognize it and manipulate it (idk anything about scripting though). The second is some "native" way that would somehow play off of things in the default game like the water cannon on the firetruck being able to move around.
