IV was a remake of III LC, V was a remake the LS from SA, and VI could be Vice city,  I also doubt Rockstart would pass up the chance of using the VI for the first two letter of Vice city.

Second.  Also, I strongly doubt they will ever have a female lead.    Tbh I'm not even sure if a female lead character would even work out in a game like this.

I'm not believing anything until official announcement form rockstar, that said, I like the idea of two countries.

I am actually waiting for Red Dead Redemption 2. I honestly think they need to do another US city besides the same ones over and over. Get another US crime ridden city like Detroit, Atlanta, or Chicago. Now with a female lead part of me believes this is a possibility due to the fact of women rights company might be getting ridiculed.

What I think will happen with GTA VI:

  • More microtransactions, more ways to make people pay more money in the game they already purchased
  • No DLC for singleplayer, as in GTA V
  • It might take place in Vice City, or it might take place somewhere new. I'm not sure regarding this one

And what I want to happen? Well, it's a complete pipe dream, it'll never happen, but:

  • Rockstar "dumps" Take Two as their publisher
  • GTA VI becomes PC exclusive
  • Many years are spent developing GTA VI - or maybe some of that time is spent waiting for PC advancements to support...
  • A recreation of the entire United States. Places renamed as is standard for Rockstar to do
  • Different police models and car textures for every state
  • "Fast travel" between places by boarding passenger aircraft
  • Dedicated servers for multiplayer. Both official and community run
  • Owners of community servers can install mods (all clients need the installed mods to play, no clientside mods to prevent cheating)
  • Steam workshop support for the Steam release, a mods folder and (in-game?) manager for the disc/Rockstar download release
  • Reasonably priced and well-crafted DLC for singleplayer - to utilise places that aren't used in the main singleplayer game (I doubt they'd be able to set the main story across the entirety of America)
  • As many vehicles in the game as possible
  • Peds with randomised clothes that suit the place they're in
  • Option to set car and pedgen to realistic values - think going to Liberty City and seeing the amount of traffic and peds you'd see in the real New York (The maximum number of vehicles and peds would differ depending on the place you were in, the time, etc)
  • Option to enable vehicle fuel simulation including refuelling

I feel like there was more to my pipe dream, but it's not like this'll ever happen anyway. Imagine if it did, though. Anyone else have things they know won't happen but still really want?

Ah'm orderin' you to STAHP!

I feel like Rockstar will probably take the opportunity and choose Vice City, but someday in the future I think Chicago would be a good city for them to remake.

And honestly what benefit would that serve? Rockstar wouldn't do that simply because that then diminishes the number of pipelines they can get money through to one lol.

"pipelines"

You did that on purpose, didn't you.

Not only that, PC isn't the only platform.  Not only would PC only hurt Rockstar, it would hurt the gaming community. Back in the PS3/360 days I would've said "it's not a bad idea" since GTA had to be nerfed significantly for consoles, but with how powerful consoles are becoming, I don't think the PC version is being significantly reduced in quality.  I'm sure there are still some capabilities being removed or decreased to cater to console, but you get my point.

I respectfully disagree. In my honest opinion consoles are now holding back gaming in general. Back when PCs were a limited market and consoles were the only real way of playing games, a long time ago, sure, they were necessary. But nowadays consoles are basically just trying to imitate PCs but with no upgradeable hardware or software and way more limitations. I can't imagine how much gaming technology would improve if the idea of consoles were ditched at this point and all games developed for PC. No more awful console ports, either. I'm not saying GTA V is an awful console port (I don't believe it was even a port in the first place, but for some reason there are still things disabled in it that should be enabled, like better Euphoria physics and ped driver probing). And let's be honest here: my dream of what GTA VI could be wouldn't be possible on console. That's a fact.

I doubt any of this is true, but I would LOVE another 80's based Vice City with today's upgraded graphics and map sizes.   But then again If it really comes out in 2022-2023 ill be 43-44 years old so i guess it all brings me back to when I was growing up.

This is a highly unrealistic expectation of Rockstar. Loading the entirety of the USA would have its issues.  Even just driving from one city to another could be a real chore, especially if it's just filled with country side and nothing much to do in between such as in states like Utah and Montana. The Crew had the same issue, they didn't include small towns that much and only put in major cities such as LA, Boston, Huston, Chicago, etc. Do you expect Rockstar to visit each and every city/town in the US to make a detailed version of it? That'd be great, but it's completely absurd. Even Ubisoft downscales the size of the US majorly compared to real life. It takes about 60 minutes to drive across the entire country in the game but in real life it'd take several days (about two and change of nonstop driving).

Second, the hardware requirements would be out of this world, even with the best coding that Rockstar could manage. By then, we should hopefully see consoles either gone, or rolled into services that stream the content to you from a supercomputer, similar to how NVIDIA's GRID technology works. But just imagine, a super-sized Grand Theft Auto VI playable on the PC, or on a vr headset. The main problem I see with making a whole USA (to scale & accurate) is how resource intensive it would have to be. Unless everytime you drive out of an area you want to wait in a loading screen this is unavoidable.

Another thing I see Rockstar doing is Vice City mainly because they'll probably title "Grand Theft Auto: VIce City" or some cringy thing like that.

Edit:

Didn't see that someone mentioned this already

Vice City is getting remastered but i don't think it's GTA 6. I'm concerned 6's story/single player will be even shorter than V's, and they will exclusively focus on multiplayer and micro transactions. I bet all modifications will be incompatible with a new GTA too. After the take two thing with open IV..-...it's on eggshells. So sad. I may not even buy Red Dead Redemption two until i see multiple reviews/
