If there are enough consumers complaining, that will change things. We shouldn't just "sit back and take it". That approach will never win.

I don't agree with that. They are making money and will continue to make money from microtransactions in GTA:O. We are a small part of their consumer base and I don't believe they will bat an eye about is being upset they are trying to prevent modifying their game.

Petitions do nothing. You aren't going to win over a multi-million dollar company.   What you people need to be petitioning is having the retards over at OpenIV stop forcing users to uninsta

Maybe the LSPDFR community is a "small" portion of the consumer base, but this affects everyone who modifies their game. (Think about the views that JeffFaviagno, Polecat and others pull in on daily or bi-daily video uploads of this). Look at how large GTA5mods.com is; Many mods making it into the hundreds of thousands of downloads. That is a lot of money R* will lose in the future. Just because we are small compared to the Xbox or play station base, we also have been around for a long time, and we can make change happen.

I just don't believe a petition will change anything - my stance on it.

This is not Rockstar's money, not their problem.

GTA V is on its way out. It is not a new title - in fact, it's quite old by the way that technology ages. Rockstar has already made their money on it.

That's my whole point. The general theory is that R* wants money from GTA V, but GTA VI development is in full swing. There are many who will not buy GTA titles in the future if modding isn't allowed in some capacity. And those YouTubers are generating money for R* and Take-Two. That's how I found out about this mod (Which is why I bought the game), and how many others did as well. All that contributes to R*'s bottom line and Take-Two's shareholders.

Modding isn't officially allowed nor endorsed in any capacity - this goes with any and all GTA games. Remember how San Andreas was patched to prevent Hot Coffee from remaining a thing? This isn't new with Rockstar. If they're going to start going after people legally for modding, then it's their loss, both monetarily and in terms of their fanbase -- not ours.

It's definitely a loss to me. This is a fun hobby where I can actually do some creative stuff. It's really a loss all around, which is why, again, this makes no sense.

you do realise that Rockstar can't just "leave" take two right? Take Two quite literally owns them. They are a parent company for a reason.

Rockstar can leave them, just saying that they are a parent company means nothing. Rockstar can find another publisher, they don't HAVE to use Take-Two. Rockstar should be commenting on their status within a few days.

no. Take Two quite literally OWNS Rockstar. There is no denying that.

When you search "rockstar games" on google the petition is the 4th - 5th link. Even though it might not do anything. We are here.

To all the pessimists: without OpenIV, LSPDFR isn't fun. Unless you enjoy the vanilla content that came with the game. If this is truly going down, then it won't be very long until this website goes under and all of the work y'all have done goes poof.

So sign the god damn petition. It probably won't fix everything right away, as I'm sure you're all itching to point out. But it's all we CAN do.
