I like some TV stuff like southland, rookies, and started to watch NYC 22 but sadly it already got the boot (aka it was canceled). Movie wise cop out and who couldn't love good ol police academy lol.

Not movies for me but TV shows, like Cops, SouthLAnd, NYC 22 and World's Wildest Police Videos. That show was great!

This is only the tip of the reccomended police movie log, but to start off with a few...

Die Hard (1,2,3 and 4)

NYC 22 (Police Procedural)

Third Watch

NYPD Blue

Law and Order: Special Victims Unit & Criminal Intent.

Training Day

Street Kings

and more to come if I dont feel to lazy to update the plethora of police movie/tv favorites. Belive me when I say that I have ALOT!

Remembered a few more that I feel I should add.

Maniac Cop

2 Fast 2 Furious (Counts as an undercover cop movie and is one of the best of the franchise)

Well, I never watched a police movie, but sometimes I watch police series. In Dutch it's called: de politie op je hielen. Which is translated as: the police on your tail. It follows British units during their duty, so all events are real. And when I was younger I liked to watch police academy. Unfortunately that isn't on TV anymore, but probably still somewere available.

Southland and Rookie Blue are pretty realistic too. They both had real cops teaching them and then analysing the plots and scenes to make sure they weren't "over-doing" it.

Don't know about Southland, but since Rookie Blue is filmed in Toronto I have friends who are Toronto Cops doing paid duty try and teach the actors a thing or two. Apparently some of the actors came off as an arrogant a** about it (yes try is bolded).

Similarly the actors on Flashpoint are a great bunch of people who take it upon themselves to actually sit through and learn the techniques and roles they are portraying. I'm fortunate enough to have actually met them while in uniform, great people, very modest.

L.A. Confidential

Really great movie. It plays in the 40s of L.A.

A lot of great scenes at drama and corruption affairs and all the stuff we love :D

The Bridge, a good canadian series which just lasted a season, the author wanted to work on a new cop series, which is still unknow as to when.

SouthLAnd, very good show featuring the LAPD.

Heat, a classic and a long one at that.

Police Academy 1-5.

RoboCop (the first one).

The Boondocks Saints (not really a cop show, but Willen Dafoe plays a good FBI agent).

Dirty Harry, a classic.

SWAT

Dragnet

Demolition Man

Bon Cop Bad Cop (a very good bilingual comedy)

Beverley Hills Cop, another classic.

Internal Affairs (there is an American remake, but his one is just way better).

SuperCop

Got a few more but I think it is enough for now.

Just thought I would post this one, but it's not a movie, it's a T.V series:

It's really interesting... and I highly recommend it for anyone who needs another good cop show for the summer. The acting is great, the setting is different and interesting.
