What do you do during your shift?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I am a long time player of LSPDFR, and I switch things up every now and again but I was wondering what other people do on duty, to get some ideas of what to do! I usually just patrol certain areas in a marked car and respond to calls, stopping the odd vehicle. But I'm getting bored of that now.

I did try a bicycle patrol on Vespucci Beach once though which was fun.

Would be awesome to see what others do when they clock on!

yup

What I'm doing is actually bringing some realism in the game. Pro-active policework. I'm running some vehicle plates, pulling some persons over that I think are suspicious. A great addition to that is the 'Bring GTA to life' mod. There's a lot of things happening in the streets that you have to pay attention to.

LSPDFR won't ever get realistic, the rush of being on duty in real life is just way different. I'm trying to get the best out of it, and variations come by using imagination and updating your callouts and plugins!

Yeah, pro-active police work is definitely refreshing. Are you talking about GTA Comes Alive mod? I think I tried that once before but it was unstable on my game, however, maybe I'll look into getting it working. Ambient events do add a lot of realism!

I'm sorry, you're right. Wasn't paying attention, but yeah, that's the one I mean.

In my opinion it works fine, but that's a matter of personal preference.

The updated version of Computer+ is fantastic with this for its new traffic citations and arrest reports! makes traffic stops last a realistic time instead of being done in 30 secs!

Processor: Intel i5-6600 @ 3.30GHz

GPU: MSI ARMOR GeForce GTX 1080 OC

Ram: 16GB Skylake

I'll definitely check that out! Thanks for the tip!

I use a lot of call-out mods. I don't respond to a lot of them though,

I try to just patrol around calmly and look for suspicious people, walking down alley ways, ect.

I have GTA V comes alive and traffic policer of course. I edited some files so that there are no blips on my map anymore.

I actually have to look for reckless drivers and speeders.

Occasionally I do bait car stings, those are fun and set a different tone in the game.

I must try the bait car mod, it sounds good. As with GTA Comes alive, I find it's just the same clown with a gas canister walking in the road every 10 minutes LOL whitch is a bit repetative. Traffic polcier is good at making ambient events though, and I agree the blips turned off make it more realistic!

yup

I am currently trying to get in a mod which would have a gas indicator on my vehicle.

When I am running low, I would obviously have to go to a gas station to fill it up.

The bait car mod is very easy to install and use, when in game just hit the default button

I believe it is F5, then just use the numbers 8 and 2 to move up at down on the vehicle list

click 5 on your numpad to select a vehicle

When the sting is over, you can call a tow truck of click the 'end' key to clean up the vehicle

Also:

You can make an account here to get agency callouts, search warrant mod, and GTA V comes alive

https://www.darkmyre.net/

If you don't have agency callouts you should add them

The callouts include:

  • Domestic Disturbance [LSPD / Sheriff] - investigate a domestic disturbance call, and arrest anyone breaking the law. Multiple different scenarios - not all of them peaceful!
  • High Speed Pursuit (SAHP / Fed): Officers engaged in a high-speed pursuit with an illegally modified sports car have called for backup.
  • Homicide Investigation (LSPD / Sheriff): Assist another first responder with questioning potential witnesses to a homicide.
  • Livestock On Road (Sheriff): Several animals have wandered onto the road and are obstructing traffic.
  • Motor Vehicle Accident (LSPD / Sheriff / SAHP): An MVA has occurred nearby, respond to the scene. Take the drivers statements by pressing T (if they survived).
  • Roadblock [SAHP] - assist a fellow officer bring a pursuit (hopefully) to an end by establishing a road block ahead of the suspect.
  • Stolen Vehicle Spotted (LSPD / Sheriff / SAHP / Fed): Officers on foot have spotted a stolen vehicle in the neighbourhood.
  • Street Racing [SAHP] - civilians have reported two vehicles street racing, can you catch them both?
  • Surveillance Target (LSPD / Sheriff / Fed): A gang member is moving through the city with an unknown agenda. Tail them to see what they're up to, but be careful not to spook them. This callout features several different scenarios when the gang member reaches their destination.
  • Suspected Meth Lab (LSPD / Sheriff / Fed): A civilian has called in reporting suspicious smells coming from an RV on the side of the road.
  • Suspicious Fertilizer Purchase (Fed): A large purchase of fertilizer has triggered a potential terror alert. Bring the buyer in for further questioning.
  • Welfare Check (LSPD / Sheriff): A civilian has called in concerned about the welfare of a friend or relative.

The welfare check and homicide investigation are very good and realistic mods

+ MVA

I usually head to the main precinct downtown and go on duty as a regular patrol officer. Most of the time I'll grab a partner using the Herocop mod because I really enjoy having one. A lot of times I'll just pull out of the station and patrol the ghetto area. It can get fun patrolling that area, especially at night. I always ensure that I have a partner when I patrol the ghetto, especially at night.

I haven't tried bicycle patrol yet, its probably about as fun as riding a broken shopping trolley down a hill covered in glass.

A recent police study found that you're much more likely to get shot by a fat cop if you run.

I do what every other LSPD officer does, Patrol the city and beat up innocent civilians while costing the city millions of dollars in property damage :D

Something that continues to baffle me is the sheer lack of logic and common sense within the game. Of course I do recognize the fact that it's a video game, but still... it's pretty funny to me.

Funny little scenario I went through a while ago.

lmao I especially enjoyed the bit where you nudged that other vehicle and caused it to wreck out at 2:39.

Yeah.. He nudged me, so i thought i'd nudge him back.. didn't expect him to flip. The AI is completely stupid (especially the helicopter crashing into things) but with my stupidity it balances out.

So cops ramming into things, cars, peds etc or shooting innocent civilians is exactly what i do so it's all good :D I'm just the living version of GTA AI
