    I used to be on Virgin Media, but the connection was just god awful.. I.E: Random disconnects all the damn time, bad download speeds etc. I did read somewhere that they used to cut off current customers to allow new ones, they of course put the old customers back on, but this meant people went without a connection for hours while the new customer was added to the lines.

    If they do anything wrong, complain to them like mad, they will give you a discount if you do. As far as I can see in the UK the choice for fast home broadband is Virgin or BE, or BT if you believe their BS ads and don't mind the worst service. We have been with them since it was NTL.

    I would be in the same boat too, however I do IT service and video rendering work on the side - so it's needed.
