Can't believe that you didn't know we have / for light patterns. :D

It's cool, ye. :D

That is probably because I just started with Non ELS. Recently switched from ELS to non, and from now on all my mods are just Non ELS.

if I may have an input ive been playing lspdfr and five m for over 3 years now let me say that els have better selections of patters where non els have one patter, els has better graphics but breaks a

there are plenty of cars that using ELS and this is an advantage. On the other hand it's not realistic cause your car can't crash and the most time tha game crashes.

Non-ELS i believe that is better because your game isn't overload and i'm not experience problem.Unfortunately it's difficult to find non-els car models

You can find lot of non els in http://gtapolicemods.com/

or just look up a couple threads at

I prefer non-els purely for the fact that my car takes damage, and can get shot up, as well as leaving doors open. I do however have an ELS file, I actually have 3 versions of GTA4 on my comp, non-els (with other cars), ELS, and vanilla LCPDFR (for MP use with no changes at all). ELS is the only game that gives me issues with random crashs but outside that they all run like champs.

some folks are gonna love the purty flashing lights, and the slick lookin cars. When others like old school look, or prefer more rough and tough style where your vehicles can take damage and you think more about your driving, car position, and so on.

I like ELS because there are blue lights.

LOL, okay you made my day!

But one thing, Non ELS has blue as well.

you do know you can change them to be any color of the rainbow right? hell....I even made a pink one for the fun of it

ELS is so much better, just because it is more realistic

i just Love Non ELS the red-white lights are like a boss! and the LCPDFR light modes add more to the awesomeness!!

Hate the fact I can not get damage. It's non roleplay. Also, I'm annoyed by the lights that are sometimes still on, on recent spawned cruisers.

I hate having a damaged car, though I must admit, I hate having to turn off my lights so I can shoot the suspects tires out.

I hate the fact that R* emergency lights are so unrealistic that we need ELS, and that there are no better ways to simulate lighting (AFAIK, ELM for SA uses the headlight system, so it doesn't reset the model constantly).

If you copy and pasted the els files into your steam gta file would it work the same way? I am tired of having to go to the desktop to message my friends and having my game crash randomly.

Kind of surprised no one mentioned the strobes mod available here to add realism without using ELS:

Which was updated so A.I. cars now use it too! No crashes, no headaches. Get it!

At least you used you're head and brought this up. I personally do not like ELS. "It adds realism." Perhaps it visually adds realism, but a car with flapping doors that's indestructible is far from real in my opinion. The stobe mod adds just enough spunk to make the emergency vehicles satisfying. Not to mention the crashes caused by ELS. Switch to V5? Correct me if I'm wrong, but V5 doesn't support AI to use ELS, so you have AI patrol vehicles running around with bugged lights and while V6 fixes that, it still causes a lot of crashes. I stick to in-game modded cars (Ekalb's Buffalo Interceptor for example), and I enjoy the game just fine. Now it's just a matter of finding a few who want to play multiplayer.
