[WIP] Non-lethal policing

Hello everyone!

I'd like to offer you a sneak peak at the development of one of my two new callout packs!

These callouts/features are focused on the less GTA side of policing!

There is no current release date, it will be done when I complete all of the following and feel as though it is stable.  I'd plan on at least 3 weeks, but most likely more.

Included with the release will be the following:
1. A personal, integrated MDT - containing report writing functionality, a map of LS, and (potentially) a ped database (although it may not tie into LSPDFR).  This alone has taken me about 10 hours to complete to its current stage (seen in pictures below).
2. Accident callouts that require the player to simply direct traffic in an area - my plan for these is to have the player respond and maintain control of the scene (you may be first on scene or last, I plan on making that dynamic).
3. Community policing - a feature that will get you out of your cruiser!  I plan on making it force you to walk around an area (like a shopping mall, convenience store, etc) and forcing you to talk to people.  Something may happen, but most likely not.
4. Reports of
     a. Shots
     b. Shoplifting
     c. Racing individuals
     d. Etc.
The above will require you to talk to the reporter and write a detailed report regarding the situation.  I plan on incorporating some sort of feedback mechanism using the MDT to see whether you got accurate information/remembered it all.  (Maybe, we'll see).
5. And more I'm sure!

Here's a sneak peak at the basic MDT.  I plan on incorporating more features to it (specifically suspect information in the reports cause I forgot that hahaha) as well as a navigation bar at the bottom so you know where you are.

**IF YOU HAVE DECENT EXPERIENCE WITH MDTs IN REAL LIFE PLEASE PM ME AS I HAVE QUESTIONS** **ALSO IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCED IN GWEN FORM PLEASE PM ME AS I ALSO HAVE QUESTIONS WITH THAT**

Please not this is V0.0.0.1 of this system and it WILL change.

Here is a video preview!  **PLEASE NOTE FRAME DROP IS FROM MY COMPUTER, NOT THE PLUGIN**

I've been waiting for something like this. Can't wait to finally do some police work that doesn't involve just rolling up to a marked dot on the map and killing/arresting everyone. Keep up the good work!

Thank you!!  I always hated that too, and I've definitely helped to contribute to that with Secondary Callouts.  I think although this is a simple interface & callouts it will help to really increase the realism!  I plan (note plan as I haven't tried it yet) to have your inputs written to a text file that can be read after the game so you can see your reports and share them!  I'm not sure how possible this is though!

Would it be possible to add tickets etc to the MDT? Looks amazing mate cant wait for this !

What do you mean by tickets; can you elaborate?  I was under the idea that citations and tickets are the same thing!  No field is required, so I figured that it could be used for whatever you'd like it to be!

What i mean is, the ability to fill out a citation on a traffic stop for example?

Ah right!  So that is the function of the "Citation" menu (the last picture). It contains information on the citation, offender, their vehicle (last two being new functions), the location, conditions, and offenses!  I'll add a "Total violation cost" option to add how much your citing them for!

It looks awesome! Great potential. The only nit-picky thing is that I don't want a "street racing" callout. There are already a lot of those. What if it was something like somebody doing donuts/burnouts in a parking lot? Or something juvenile like that.

Will the MDT be part of a callout mod or a seperate entity? Also, will it only work with your mods/callouts or will it be usable with other callout mods? Looking forward to it!

So I plan on including it with the "Non-lethal policing" callout pack.  Of course it will work with other callouts and perhaps (if I incorporate certain features) I can make an API for it so other packs can include its functions.  This is all longshots though, as the MDT isn't even done yet!

only if we had this for gta 4 XD

I know!  I've always wanted one so I decided to make one!

You should try porting Finnkone's ticket time into this mod since you are utilizing a very interesting concept of MDT and report writing.

For the community policing definately proceed with that patrolling beaches, busy tourists areas, shopping areas, can't do malls since you can walk inside pitty since San Andreas included that and they didn't into GTA 5.

But great work so far, looking forward to beta testing if you are I'd love to be a part of, need any suggestions PM me, I do police dispatch in real life I can help with some ideas.

While I won't port his work over to LSPDFR (even if I wanted to I don't know how, haha), I think I've captured most of that in the current state of the MDT.

Community policing will certainly include those areas.  I also want to include just some sidewalks around the city as well!

I will be in touch if I need any help!

DONE - Found someone with actual MDT experience who has helped me so much so far!!! (Thanks @xAKRONSFINESTx)
PARTIAL - Integration into LSPDFR computer: 50% done.  It pulls dates, but not the correct ones.
PARTIAL - Writes reports to text files.  It works, I just need to set it to put the information on new lines.
NOT DONE - Arrest Report (might just make that a check box on citation menu, haven't decided yet)
NOT DONE - Callouts -- started community policing, haven't worked on it lately.

This is great! We've always needed a reporting tool!

I have two suggestions:

(1) Make the key to bring up the tool configurable in the .ini file if possible.

(2) You can search Google for police report templates (if that helps) to find a lot of info.

A tool like this can work well with a wide variety of callouts. (i.e. stolen vehicle report, assault report, burglary report, etc...) Lots of possibilities.

I am very much looking forward to this.  Thank you for the hard work!

1. It already is!
2. I found someone who sent me pictures! Thank you!

This is awesome! At one point I took my RP to the next level and I would actually write reports on paper, which means I would take lots of notes during calls like real life. This made callouts last longer and not just shoot the person and go to the next one. Will there be a database so you can go back and edit or view your past reports even if you have exited the game and started a new game?

I used to use two computers- id have my laptop set up on a TV tray next to me and would have an MDT.exe program on it.

If you look at the last part of the video it shows a still of the .txt fole the reports save as!  It will add every report you write to the bottom of it, so you can always go back to look at them whenever you want!
