Having other units e.g. SAHP without having RDE?

Featured Replies

Unfortunately RDE is too demanding for my laptop most likely due to having too many mods. Can't really go back to using the default vehicles now I've used these realistic cars on LCPDFR!

Is there any mod out there which enables you to have SAHP which actually patrols the m-way like RDE and a mod with additional vehicle slots so I can use 3 vehicles for LSPD similar to RDE without the performance upgrade etc??

No. There's no mod that makes the cars patrolling like RDE.

However, there are add-ons like this one that give the slots available, and it was literally the first result in Google, so you should think about making some researches beforehand.

Thanks for the link, not sure it will work with the latest update though?

If that's the case is there any possible way  to use RDE only for the slots and patrol areas without the enhancements?

Install RDE and remove the scripts, I guess it should work. EDIT: Nevermind that, there's probably some .xml file for the patrolling cars or something like that. I don't know. You should ask on the RDE page.

I think the patrolling cop cars are controlled by popcycle.dat or something like that.

I'll give it ago! So just move the vehicles file and popgproups/popcycle files which I presume control the dispatch and leave the rest?

Popgroups and popcycle determines what car spawns and in what area in the game world.

To modify which car spawns as dispatch against the player (when you gain stars), you'll want to check out dispatch.meta in update.rpf/common/data. If you want them as backup, just use LSPDFR's backup.xml or even the CustomBackup script if you want a more in depth backup system.

So if I transfer the dispatch file and backup file as well will this work? Its the enhancements in RDE which I causing my PC to run slower than usually, didn't have this problem prior to the GTA 5 update at all...Very frustrating!

Not exactly.

Those dispatch files from RDE will have entries for the other cars aside from the SAHP ones. If you only intend on keeping the SAHP models, you'll have to get rid of the added entries for Noose, BCSO (if you have it), etc.

I suggest that you simply stick with the original game files (make backups or use a mod folder) and manually add car slots in "mods/update/update.rpf/common/data/levels/gta5/vehicle.meta" specifically for SAHP. Afterwards, you can go into popgroups to add a group for the SAHP that includes a list of the added cars, and then have them spawn in specific areas using popcycle.

I've got rid of some of the cars in the file, kept the extra slots for LSPD and BCSO for variation of vehicles. really just want to get rid of the graphic enhancements which I presume are located in the gameconfig?

RDE does not cintain any graphical enhancements.

Gameconfig does influence the amount of cars and peds spawned, but also contains needed tweaks to memory pool sizes that may cause crashes with added cars and peds. There is a Low-end config that doesn't increase those values in the last release, but it is incompatible with the updates since that release, and the temporary fix is not the Low-end file as far as I know.

RDE 3.0 will have a fixed version when it comes out at some point.

Or add the vehicles in manually and add them to your backup.xml you won't see them patrolling but you'll see them once called for backup. Remove some of the scripts, which in my opinion use the most data. Vehicles themselves don't really do much.
