North Korea fails again

The way NKorea acts anymore, they are like that annoying kid/bully who takes your hat off your head, throws it on the ground, then trips over it when they run away, but honestly, if they keep it up, * Inhales* ahhhhhh, I can smell the WW3 from here....

All warfare is based on deception, for years the west hypocrisy has made the world a battlefield. The corrupt talk well our brothers and sons spill their blood, but deciet cuts both ways. The bigger the lie the more liikely people will believe it and when a nation cries for vengeance like wildfire. The fire builds, devouring everything in its path. Our enemies alone believe they dictate the course of history while all it takes is the will... of a single man.

Decipher it as you like, but the words all will fall in their correct places with respect to this topic.

  • "North Korea fails again" In other news, the sky is blue, the earth is round, and water and oil don't mix!

I dunno why we have to cloak the simple truth behind a bunch of political BS. It's pretty simple. Kim Jong Il was a soviet militant who was too late to the party (literally and figuratively lol). He was a doofus, and his son is probably an even bigger doofus and an inexperienced one at that. This news, although somewhat frightening due to the possibility of this being a missile and not a simple "rocket" as they claim doesn't really mean much to those in the U.S. other than the fact that we shouldn't be so quick to reduce our military budget. N.K is always going to have these kind of tests unless Kim Jong Il's son decides to break out of the old communist government model and re-align with South Korea and let someone else take over.

Anyone remember this game?

Some of the pieces of the storyline puzzle have already fallen into place. Let's just make sure we keep gas under $20 per gallon (or switch fuel types) and keep our other Asian neighbors happy by buying their crap and selling it to our countrymen at inflated prices. We're happy enough doing that now, lets just carry on and get on with our lives.

I'm confused as to why you feel the need to quote my post when I'm simply stating Nkrorea acts like an immature wanna be bully?

@unreal: There's not that big of a difference between missiles and rockets. Rocket programs and missile program have historically been linked.

@Marine: The total DoD budget for last year was $707.5 billion. China's GDP was $5,930 billion. (for reference, TOTAL defense-related spending in the US, including such things as veteran's affairs, is some $1,030 to $1,415 billion.) China's military is FAR larger than ours. They are not very deployable compared to the US Army; logistics is a specialty of the US, and our military is pretty much the most mobile one in history. However, Korea is right in their backyard.

I said North Korea's entire GDP is 32 billion, our military budget is about 450-500 billion.

I thought you were talking about China in that first post I replied to. My bad.

Don't worry,JAM,I'm not opposing your thoughts. Its just that I feel its just too early for WW:III.I'm a believer in that statement,"The rate at which humans are wasting water, the next world war can and will ONLY be because of it."

It's not too early. The world is going to hell. WWI and WWII were only about 20 years apart, it's been over 60 years since a major war.

WWI and WWII were only 20 years apart because we didn't go all the way to Berlin the first time and gave them a really horrible "deal" military wise with the Versailles Treaty. Germany was a powder keg, and if Adolf Hitler wasn't there to blow it up, someone else eventually would have. I hate to say it, but Europe was asking for it. Luckily they 2nd time the Allies finished the job and secured total victory over Germany. The only mistake the Allies made that time was letting Russia gobble up land. It took about 45 years to fix that.

Yeah the cold war was serious business. That that's in the past now. Russia likes us to a certain extent. They just conduct some shady stuff, like the spies caught in Boston and shipped back to Russia. Needless to say, our government had a little "chat" with Russia. Anyway it's not as if we're not doing the same to them.

I have to chime in on this topic as there are a few interesting opinions and from a military perspective to start a war with N. Korea or China is disastrous.

Let's see. China attacks the US, they have literally no exports. That means they run out of money, which means their military turns to shit (even though it probably is already). The US supports China economically more than anyone else, so I doubt they'd think about it.

You understand that the US asks China for loans?, China is currently the largest shareholder of the US Treasury

The North Koreans sank one of their ships and shelled one of their towns a few years ago. I highly dounbt they'd choose this of all things as a reason to invade.

The South Koreans have more sense than to start a war based on a faulty missile launch. As Codz mentioned, the North Koreans have given them more justifiable reasons to start a war than this.

Don't underestimate their military, but you're right about China not wanting to attack the US. Though, the exact same thing could be said the other way around: there is no way the US would attack China. One of the best parts of globalization: trade links prevent wars.

cp702 has it correct, never underestimate the capabilities of their military just because they don't have the technology doesn't mean they don't have the manpower. Technology is pretty useless when you’re facing a million angry people coming your way, it's interesting because at work last night my co-workers (One of them used to be in Military Intelligence) and I were having a discussion about this (slow night in the military world), I won't post what they said, but it was interesting to say the least.

We also forget that alot of Russia/China's military systems are from the cold war, where NK was pretty much allied to both. That's why they most likely look similar. cp, there's hardly anything to underestimate. They starve their people, and their entire GDP is like, 4% of our military budget. The US and SK would steamroll them in days, we've come far since 1950-1953.

From my experience, an AK47 or an RPG from twenty years ago is still effective or more capable of killing a person than a brand new HK416 or C-7 from three years ago....Just because they have systems from the cold war doesn't mean it's not effective. A knife in the hands of a child is just as effective as a knife in the hands of a man.

Russia is like that quiet kid in class, never says anything much, never really does anything and you don't really know what they are up to.

I agree, those weapons Insurgents use are the same ones they used decades ago. AK-47's are made to be the most durable weapon on the planet. The Insurgents seem to be just fine with their arms, why shouldn't NKorea?
