I've watched shows that follow the marines and such, like Ross Kemp in Afghanistan, and even his return to it in a newer show.

Each time they came under fire, the took to the nearest cover, communicated clearly with each other and neutralized the threat within minutes.

At the end of that, they were denied. In WWII, if we were under fire, the soldiers/marines took cover and lit up the enemy, anyone near the area. If a civilian gets in the way whether purposely or accidently, too bad.

Being in JROTC, I speak to alot of Marines and Soldiers daily. They tell us stories of how screwed up the military's chain of command is, and whatnot. One of my earliest memories is 9/11, if not my earliest. I'm American, so naturally I want every person affiliated with any terrorist group dead. Even though I sometimes question the US and it's actions, I still believe that the middle east is nothing but trouble for the US, and we should either leave or get rid of it.

Unorganized? You clearly do not know what you are talking about. I can go on for hours about the IED Cell network and how complex it is, not to mention the organizational structure of groups like Al Qaeda and their cell infastructure.

Simple, we follow the Geneva conventions; they don't this is what distinguishes us from them. We don't advocate nor do we condone attacks against civilians.

Over 16,000 killed in Iraq, over 30,000 wounded. In Afghanistan, over 2,000 dead and over 22,000 wounded. In total, this "war on terror" has taken over 18,000 lives. That's too many for an unorganized and weak enemy like the Taliban and Al Qaeda. According to wikipedia, over 40,000 insurgents were killed in Afghanistan, which is no where near enough. The entire Afghanistan nation support these organizations, and are against the US. They hate us, they don't have limits on who they kill. Are you kidding me? The Afghan people know why the United Nations is there. They know we want to help them hence why the Afghanistan Government supports our effort with their own military and supplies. The only people who oppose us there are those who support the terrorist organizations.

Stories huh? Well son, I was actually out there in the front taking fire. When we were fired UPON we where automatically cleared to eliminate the threat, that coming from NATO and UN Protocol.

Being in the military means protecting the innocent and safeguarding the helpless not killing every living thing in a five km radius just because we took RPG fire.

I don't know about you, but I took an oath to protect innocent civilians; not kill them.

Last I checked, they hated the Taliban and Insurgents as well.

Our engineers are constantly researching for new ways to counter IEDs.

@Marine You fail to understand the concept of blowback. You are advocating the murder of millions of people, simply because they are angry about a foreign occupation. I'm sure that if a foreign power invaded the US, you would fight back. What gives us the right to do so and deny others that right?

It's really easy for a lot of these people to sit in front of their computers and think through what they are going to say and how they feel. This isn't so true for the armed forces fighting, they have to make split second decisions in a hostile environment. Decisions they make may seem like they are massacring innocent civilians or children. But they don't get to sit around thinking this through. Your mindset completely changes when you are in that position, you have to experience it to truly know what I am talking about. But if a decision they make brings them or a buddy home, who cares.

It's absolutely appolling how many people support the war, i for 1 do not believe in being sent to another country to fight someone elses war, it is not my intention to offend anyone on this topic, but i would like to know why american's enjoy war so much and dislike Canadian's such as myself is it because we are a peace country?, i went to the states a few year's ago and while in a gas station buying some cigarette's, the girl was super nice to me, then she asked for some ID from me, once she saw where i was from her attitude did a complete 360, she was rhude and very obnoxious, as i turned around to leave i heard her say to her co employee "we don't need his kind in our country" i was shocked to hear that, so, needless to say, that changed my opinion about american's, the point to that little story was to show the kind of respect us Canadian's don't get and my personal experience with one.

I've seen real photos and heard real stories of Active Men.. My sister has a friend, who had her husband LOOSE his legs in an I.E.D. attack by the Taliban, I do not know if he made it or not.. but he was in unstable condition when they sent him to a Medical Station out of the 'war' zone.

Why do we go to war? We don't know. Some of us think its to fix the world.. some of us think its for oil... Regardless of the Political reasons.. I respect the men and women who sign up knowing damn well that they will one day fight to save their asses, as well as their fellow comrades...

I know of a Soldier who is retiring soon... why is he retiring? Because he doesn't want to risk not being able to save his fellow man when it comes time. So I ask you, are we really bad people? Or are you just ignorant?..

If you really think, wiping the middle east is the best solution then we might as well wipe off North America and Europe for creating such organizations as Al-Qaeda.

In addition the majority of the populace who reside in the Middle East (Afghanistan seems to be the major issue in this thread) are innocent and although they don't like Western influences they hate terrorists even more and that is a fact.

I hate terrorists just as much as the next person and want nothing more for them to burn; but to say we should wipe off entire countries and continents?
