The low rider update

Featured Replies

I use to store most of my custom cars in mpchristmas2. However, when I tried to copy that folder for the new update, the game crashed. I started installing vehicles one by one. I heard there was a limit to the number of vehicles you could add. Might be lower now with the new lowrider cars.

I copied the updated update.rpf to replace the one in my mods folder to change the game version, worked last update, game still crashes, maybe this is my problem too as I have several cars in Christmas2 due to the added vehicle slots mod, works so well, really don't wanna remove vehicles, wonder if this is my problem too though

  • You have to wait for a new ragehook plugin to come out..prob couple days. When a GTA V update comes out it ruins LSPDFR.

    PISSEDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!

Well obviously it's fucking impossible to "back up" anything with this game since as soon as you start it it will automatically update. And you CAN NOT play AT ALL unless you are connected to the internet. Even using the mod folder method, I'm still screwed since somehow it effects those files too. There should be a single player only version of GTA free from this childish online shit. Now everyone who modded their game has two options: reinstall the entire game and play the boring vanilla version, or wait god knows how long for the PRH and Scripthook to be updated, and even then you STILL have to reinstall all of your mods.

Oh dear, you don't know much do you? A RageHook plugin was literally released yesterday at 16:00 yesterday, the authors don't take long at all to create a new RageHook plugin. And it's not "fucking impossible" to back it up, literally most people do, so that the game can be played. I haven't because I'm not addicted to playing a game, but as far as I'm aware RageHook offers to back up the current game. It's literally one of the first things shown when the plugin is installed! A message appears saying "important alert" and asks if you want to back up the game. So, download the new RageHook plugin, this time read carefully what it says, it offers to make a back-up. Create the back up and that should prevent your current situation

Edit:

What did I say?

Literally exactly what I said, you can backup your game "to revert to a previous game version if the game is updated". So before having a tantrum and hating Rockstar for creating something that most people are excited about, I really do suggest you look through the RageHook plugin settings

Originally I said that the vehicle mods wouldn't be affected, turns out I was wrong. Apologies, the mods folder prevents the game being launched, and causes it to crash, it's due to some older files not being compatible with the new vehicles or something, so unfortunately that means the mods need to be reinstalled and the handling etc. as well. Although if Lundy managed to edit the files and keep the mods then that would be interesting to know how he managed.

Just copied the new update rpf folder into my mods folder, copied out the mpchristmas2 from my mods folder as that had my vehicle addons, copied out another vehicle from a different folder, and ran it with mods folder still crashed at loading screen, guess this update stops me from doing the only reason I wanted the game for PC, playing with mods...

Start by copying the update folder to the mod folder, and install the cars to mpchristmas2 one by one. That's what I'm doing. I have seven installed so far. Hoping to get at least nine.

Are we really going to have to reinstall every single mod (cars peds guns ect) everytime there is in update? This is unacceptable.

What method are you using exactly? Until yesterday I had no problems with "Added police car slots 1.9" - now, after this stupid forced update the game crashes on me even if I add a single vehicle...

It's not unacceptable. Mods are unauthorized by defenition, you can't expect everything to work after an official update to the game is added.

It's tedious and boring, yes, but it's part of PC gaming.

You seem to think they care about you, and that they made the game just for you to play mods on, even though the PC modders are a really REALLY small minority and that's even on PC, these updates are global, both on the PS4 and Xbox one, so why do you keep thinking they care about the modding community?

I know what you'll say, "Oh, modders increase the life time of a game" but rockstar are doing just that, and they're doing it on both consoles AND PC with a large amount of profit coming in too, so I doubt they'll ever just accept modding and and say fuck it, and never update it just for this tiny group of people who mod the game, you need to stop this entitled act and see you bought THEIR product, and you seriously have no right to tell them what to do with it, as well as a hell a lot of your opinions coming from pure bias and 'rage in he moment' thoughts.

Little edit: If some of these updates get shipped with bugs, they obviously arn't going out their way to technically update their game twice for modders that they don't even support.

I just copy and paste the appropriate vehicle information (often comes with the download) to the vehicle.meta and carvariation.meta in mpchristmas2. I never used "Added Police Car Slots".

What 'Added Police Car Slots' essentially is, is merely two modified .meta files (carvariations and vehicles) for mpchristmas2, which you can modify with the custom vehicle data, so it should work, in theory... Well, Ok, thanks for the reply, will try to find a solution

Welcome to Grand Theft Auto V: No Fun Allowed Edition

Again, it's free content and free patches. Something they said would happen and which you'd agreed to when buying the license for the game. It's really not a big deal. Yes, it's tedious to reinstall a few mods, but it's really not the end of the world.
