Upgraded from Windows 7 to 10... More FPS

Featured Replies

Windows 10 uses less memory to run things in general so this can be expected, and just think when DirectX 12 game get made, we can get another 40fps from our graphics cards without upgrading hardware.

Microsoft had gaming in mind when they created Windows 10 ;) apart from LSPDFR breaking (which i still need to fix) my game stays at a solid 60fps, Even other games run perfect, Resident Evil 6 runs at a solid 120fps (which i never knew my computer could do).

The only downfall to Windows 10 that i have found is the slight lag within Windows 10 itself (takes 5 seconds for the start menu to open. And for some reason my fans run at a higher temperature than they used to when gaming (although My PC does need a clean so it could just be dust).

It's not better than Windows 7 yet, but it'll get there :D Definitely my favourite OS for gaming though!

I am not sure about 40 FPS but we will see an increase

I was extremely skeptical about upgrading from 8.1 to 10, but after doing it, I have noticed a slight performance upgrade/FPS boost! Thanks Microsoft XD

"Please, put it in park, will ya?" "LSPD, see the lights, pullover." "Stop the vehicle, we need to have a little chat!" "Get in the car and keep your mouth shut." "You have the right to absolutely nothing." "The damn gun is jammed!"

Confirmed FPS increase. Overall gaming is a lot smoother! Definitely improved my gaming experience! Even played GTA IV without texture loss at AL! Gamed GTA IV for an entire HOUR without any issues or performance loss.

Does this mean I should start playing IV again?... :D

Hmmm.. So yesterday was getting around 120 FPS on GTA with mine maxxed out. Did a fresh install of GTA today and suddenly, despite being on the same settings and no hardware or driver change I'm now getting 55FPS.

This is annoying.

scrap that. Somehow my second GTX980 was not enabled via SLI, must of been a driver update I've just seen had installed a few hours ago xD

I'm back at max settings pulling over 100FPS again :) Even tho i lock them in control panel to 60

Does anyone else with a gtx 980 ti 6gb get more then 60 fully maxed out because I seen a few videos with my graphics card and they have over 100fps maxed 1080p and I cannot get soild 60 max which is really weird am also on windows 10 I might be going off topic here but with windows 10 only adds +2 fps more you wouldn't see it that much but it's really only useful for people with low end computers

Fonia5, did you manage to get your control panel working? Add me on Steam X-Adz-X and i'll help set it all up with you. Although you have an old CPU, your GPU should be able to push some more frames. I just worry your CPU could possibly be bottlenecking your card.

But I'll do all I can to help you <3
