Ai Drivers

I have heard many people report ai drivers becoming erratic when the player uses lights/sirens. I am wondering if anyone else has a problem where no matter where or when you are driving ai crash into eachother and rear end you at every light. Is there any way to improve their driving?

I've never encountered this myself. Have you come across this yourself, or are you just posting based on other peoples' reports?

Are you talking about police officers driving, or normal civilians?

I apologize for lack of detail in my initial report. Whenever I am driving in the game people around me start slamming into each other, on highways it usually leads to a chain of explosions. Almost any time that I stop at a traffic device or that i am stuck behind a slower vehicle I get rear ended by the vehicle behind me, even if am as far forward as touching the car in front of me. Also (this may be unrelated) but when I call for backup on a pursuit the police vehicles will rear end me while trying to catch up to the suspect, even if the suspect car feet in front of me. I asked the question because I never see this happen in other peoples game videos.

I use a variety of callout plugins, police radio, traffic control, traffic variety, semi realistic physics, morecontrolv, and scripthook

On highways people tend to spin out of control on the opposite side when you're running lights and sirens, but otherwise in my experience people get out of the way pretty well - at red lights sometimes they will still move to the side if I can't get through.

AI cops also fight for primary in pursuits if you're ahead of them at the moment, since apparently it hasn't been possible yet for the LSPDFR devs to make them aware that you are part of the pursuit. Just let them pass or run side-by-side if the road is big enough, and don't call in a lot of backup so that you won't have to be so far back in line.

This. Other lane freaks out when lights are on, thats just hardcoded into GTA itself with the lights, which is why I would like an external lighting system like we had with ELS in GTAIV, to prevent this issue (and add more lighting patterns, maybe someday ;-;). 

I've also had this happen, cops love to ram me to the side and usually they get a sudden speed boost and ram the suspect off the road, which can be good sometimes to end long pursuits but its very destructive, I know this was a feature built into the game for pursuits on the player, but It seems LSPDFR utilizes it at the moment. im sure it will be tweaked, or have the option to be disabled.

Did you change or use the "handling" file from a mod?

If you have a really bad handling file from a mod they will slip slide and crash all the time.  Because AI drivers also get affected by the new handling physics.

If you have the regular game one then Im not sure.

Let me know and I can give you a nice realistic handling mod.

Use the regular handling file that comes with the game (not modded in any way)

Try putting it back in which will make them drive like Rockstar intended.  See if this solves your issue, at least then you can know whats causing it and go from there. :) Good luck.
