Whelen has a stranglehold in my county and 90% of police forces use anything Whelen

Akron Police Department uses older Whelen Freedoms and Whelen Libertys, there is a single car with a Federal Signal Streethawk and a single pickup truck with a Code 3 MX7000.

Summit County Sheriff uses Federal Signal Vistas on their older cars and trucks, Whelen Libertys on some of the older cars as well as earlier delivery current gen Ford Explorers and Taurus, I have spotted a new Sheriff Taurus with a Whelen Justice recently.

Hi guys.

i wanna ask you, how many different lightbars uses your local PD, SO, CPD...

So, i'm from Germany and THE POLICE (yes, we've got only 1 police for the whole country) has mostly 2 different lightbars on their patrol vehicles. An older strobe- version and a newer LED- version.

In the US nearly every town or village has it's own police force. I wanna know about the US guys out there.

Why do you say local pd when you post pics of different cities? Local PD means only from your city/Bundesland :)

Well, because we don't have local PD'S! They're local organized. But it's still the one and only POLICE force in Germany. The Polizei Niedersachsen is the same as the Polizei Bremen. Only minor changes with the uniform and cars. But they all follow the same laws. You can't compare the US police with our police

These are our new Highway Patrol vehicles. From what I've seen, they all use the same lightbars but I have no idea what they are exactly. As you can see, we're right in the middle of snow season right now. Enjoy!

Here in my area we have 3 main forces: Greenwich Police, CT State Police, and Cos Cob Fire Police Patrol. 99.9% of all Emergency Vehicles in CT have Whelen Parts, as Whelen is located in Chester, CT. I also added pictures of the police cars.

CT State Police have CVPIs, FPIs, and Expeditions, all in grey with no markings (not even ghost decals). Whelen Liberty, Edge, Vertex, Dominator, and IONs. They have a special plate in the middle of the lightbar that reads "STATE POLICE".

And the Greenwich PD has many vehicles, not all of which I could find pictures for. They include CVPIs, FPIs, FPIUs, F350s, Silverados, E450s, GMC Chassis Trucks with ambulance-style boxes (special response), and Ford Broncos.

Here's a Patrol Vic: (Corner Strobes, Liberty, IONs around 3rd Brake Light)

In my area the Hänsch DBS 4000 is mainly used:

And sometimes you can see the Pintsch-bamag Zirkon lightbar on Passat b7's:

And there is this new Mercedes Vito also with a Hänsch DBS4000:

Here in Hungary the national police vehicles are equipped with 3 type of lightbar.

Back in the day every police car was equipped with Code3 LP6000 lightbars, some of thoose old lightbars remained on newer cars,

Nowadays the most of our fleet has Federal Signal Phoenix lightbars installed with Federal Signal AS320 siren units.

On the newest police vehicles Federal Signal Legend lightbars and other low profile lightbars are being tested.

Whelen time baby!

My department has switched to either slicktops or Whelen Liberty I/IIs over the past 3 years.

Like I said last year, the old Highway Patrol cars here had Federal Signal Vectors. I miss them so much, they looked well cool. I haven't seen a Highway Patrol car in years now though. As far as I can tell they still exist, but they've obviously been phased out of my area as I used to see them all the time pre-2009.

Those cars must be tiny. Vectors are not huge lightbars. They should've upgraded to a Vision or a Vision SLR.

The Falcon was always slimmer than the Commodore, although I think we had custom brackets as this one is a lot longer.

These lightbars have been phased out completely though, the newer highway patrol vehicles (which I've never actually seen in person) either have the 21TRs or the MX7000s/HB203s/Excalibur? (can't really tell tbh), which is standard equipment for the WAPOL.

Oh, this is what I was talking about last year with the dual bars on the paddy wagons. That's not a 21TR though, that's a XF2300?

From the Philippines, these are Chinese made knock-offs of Federal Signal's Jetsonic. Every cop cruiser, ambulance and fire engine runs these almost exclusively. Only USA type lights are on imported Ford E series ambulances that are owned by private hospitals. This thing probably wins the 'shitty lightbar' contest.

Close up video on the thing.
