Hi everyone,

I was just wondering, from a scripting standpoint, if it is possible to create a mod where the player can spawn police tape (http://i.imgur.com/y2ImcUb.jpg)?

I'm guessing it is, however there is not one for GTA IV. I would imagine the mod would have the capability of attaching police tape to objects (trees, light post, etc).

Right, but in some situations they aren't really practical/realistic. I just think it would be cool as far as realism goes.

So, disclaimer, I'm not pursuing developing this at the moment because I'm busy working on other stuff, but it might be theoretically possible to get police tape in game. 

I don't think there's an actual police tape texture, but there is this red/white striped tape which would be close enough to start: 

I'm not sure if this would be the right way, but I would guess (again, no testing done whatsoever, no promises this would work) that it could be spawned using the ROPE native functions.

So, if a sufficiently talented developer wanted to do so, they might be able to get police tape working in the game.

Or you could just get a script to spawn an object, which is just a long piece of tape
