LSPDFR Feature Preview

Shocking.

Since people did ask, yes, there is a need to say that it is not supported.

I agree with FtDLulz, I want to know where you got this number from.

Every single time some one has asked about a release date since the very early preview days of LCPDFR in 2009, the answer to "when can we get a release" has always been "when it's done." This isn't done in anger, this is done because some people don't seem to grasp how delicate and difficult scripting is. I know for a fact Sam was close to releasing LSPDFR several times recently, but had to stop to completely rewrite code that was broken at the last minute. Lying about a release date will make people more angry at the developers, and releasing a buggy version will tarnish the reputation that was earned in LCPDFR.

Really now? You talk to Sam on a daily basis? You know the progress of the mod as well as him? You know for a fact that the quality standard has been met, and that Sam and LMS are screwing with the community with constant teases while hoarding LSPDFR to themselves?

So you're encouraging people to get angry because Sam wants a quality product, instead of a buggy version that will anger a lot of people?

O LORD. You guys please. I'm ashes now for this. Don't know what to say after starting riots to have this mod finished and calling millions of people world wide thieves. My deepest apologies to the gaming world, let there be peace. I owned this game on ps3 sold the PS3 with game and all after finishing it. Moved on to the next console. Bought San Andrea's for the PS2, GTA IV for the PS3 even have the cd with the songs from San Andrea's. So I have contributed enough to Rockstar i will always do. I prayed when GTA5 was released to have all LSPDFR and ELS like features integrated. But they still haven't learned from YOU GUYS and Lt. Caine!

And please fans boys I haven't told anyone to download illegal copies of this now stupid game, you and I are free to do as we want. And not as I say, don't make me the villain here. I don't play LSPDFR to be a thief Rockstar give us that already. I'm a member since 2011 have never asked for a mod to be finished and so on. But you guys read and understand to your capabilities, and criticized me pointing out some kind of behavior.

Not looking to be praised.

  • Guys, come on, we all know that isn't a real countdown.  You just used a trainer for it!

  • The anticipation is killing me.  Preparations going well so far, however...

  • ... Kind of speechless that people are getting this demanding for something that is being pretty much created as a hobby result from a few very skilled coders.  We are looking at weeks, not months til

No its just them saying they implemented new things into online to combat hacks and mods.

I was just thinking about patches...

If we've installed LSPDFR and then a new patch is released from R*, will that affect the LSPDFR installation at all...?

It would depend if they change things that could break it, but i doubt it

I only think it would cause issues if a major update occurred, changing the actual version so to speak. Still, i'm sure it wouldn't take @Sam long to make it 'new version' compatible...

LSPDFR is client side, so you would have to update it to actually have any effect on LSPDFR. Simple, don't update till an LSPDFR patch is out.

But they have released many updates and didn't effect the mod much.

Speaking as if LSPDFR is already out.

Generally speaking if R* releases a new patch, then the RagePlugin hook and the ScriptHookV will both need to be updated to hook into the latest patch in order for them to be loaded and subsequently, load any mods. This will probably occur every time R* makes any kind of patch for the game.

So yes, if R* releases a new patch for GTA V it will likely stop your mods from working (it wont break them, it will just prevent them from loading).

Great...fan-fucking-tastic. Another stupid update to delay LSPDFR. Like at this point no one cares about GTA O. I think GTA O was the biggest fail R* ever did. They should have stuck with a GTA IV type MP and made GTA O a standalone that came free with anybody who bought GTA V and just update that.

See now that is why GTA O should have been standalone. Release GTA V with a IV type MP interface and let people do what they want and just focus on a Standalone release for GTA Online. I mean the title is begging standalone in itself. The title isn't GTA V Online, it's GTA Online. Just like Elder Scrolls Online, Star Trek Online, etc. all standalone games!!

IMO it's not big enough to warrant it being a separate game. To use your comparison - Elder Scrolls Online is a radically different game from Skyrim, with a different world, story, mechanics, characters etc. And if it was a separate game, then you get another 60 gig game on your HDD. It's optimization, plain and simple.

The game GTA O mechanics would be separate and would require GTA V to run. Make GTA O free obviously for those who bought GTA V since they can't run it without it. Have all the content for GTA O added to the standalone directory and leave GTA V alone. The only thing they update is missions, content, and server patches so that no one cheats. The map and vehicles are still the same because they would be running off of GTA V files.

So what will you all be doing in your first LSPDFR patrol? For me, I would most likely patrolling in a sheriff cruiser around Los Santos county.

Im thinkin Great Ocean Highway and Vinewood hills.

Actually, I quite liked the traffic radar mod which accompanied LCPDFR - Sitting waiting for a perp to show themselves! ...Only thing missing...COFFEE DRINKING! LOL
