Community Team and Staffing Announcement (22 May, 2015)

Hello all,

As I'm sure many have noticed, we've had a few more changes in the Community Team recently.  With the site continuing to evolve with GTA V and the onset of LSPDFR, we found it necessary to take a step back and examine everything from a high-level perspective.

To start with the good news, two of our moderators have returned from retirement!  @c13 has completed military training and is now back on the team as a Community Moderator.  While he is still stationed at an army base, his schedule allows him to return and we are all extremely excited to have him back.  In addition, @Original Light has also returned!  Retiring a little while ago for personal reasons, OL is very much back and is again a part of the Community Team as a Community Moderator.  I hope everyone will join me in welcoming them back to the team!

In more solemn news, we also have a couple retirements.  As previously mentioned, we have retired the Dutch forum.  As the sole Dutch Forum Moderator, @SuperStumpje has retired from the Community Team as his forum is no longer around.  Since none of us can speak Dutch, his help was essential to properly maintaining that forum and we wish him the best.  In terms of advisors, @Sgt.Kanyo has retired as a Community Team Advisor.  He joined the team a long time ago, during a time where modding tensions were extremely tense and his help was immeasurable during that period.  In a bittersweet shift through time, tensions have died down incredibly and unfortunately that also means that the amount of work available for Kanyo has faded as well.  He will continue to be ever present in the modding forums, and also working on his famous IV handling lines.

In terms of the community as a whole, we have some exciting things planned in the future to continue to expand the options available to our members.  One such aspect is a modding news system, where we can provide updates for LSPDFR and also provide news stories right from our very own members.  For now we will be having our very own @penguin2254 in the Community Team working on news stories.  The actual staffing position may vary over time, as the idea is new and we need to ensure a proper fit.  I won't go into detail now for the rest of the things we have planned as it is too early, but we do indeed have some very fun things planned and we hope to shed light on them over the next few months.

To address the elephant in the room, LSPDFR is still coming along very nicely and as always we will work to bring you a usable mod as soon as we can.  The best I can say is that it will be released "soon," although everyone will undoubtedly have a different opinion of what soon means.  Please continue to check the LSPDFR Updates and Information forum for updates.

please keep on developing lcpdfr. there might be bugs to fix

While we certainly appreciate and understand the enthusiasm that still exists for LCPDFR, chances are slim that we will continue developing it. The eyes of the entire community are firmly focused on GTA V and LSPDFR, and we simply don't have time anymore to continue working on LCPDFR. I can't predict the future, but please understand that chances are good we'll be working on LSPDFR for quite some time to come.

I can appreciate your changing priorities, Icon. As long as y'all don't forget your roots, I'll like what comes to fruition with this new installment of the First Response Series.

ffs, just woke up, saw this first, misread LCPDFR for LSPDFR, and nearly got a heart attack. It's all good now, time for breakfast.

Alright, we'll just stop developing a brand new modification with far more potential so that an outdated and soon to be obsolete mod can get updated.

so you just just gonna ignore us gta 4 users. what about bugs that still need fixing?!

I beg your pardon? Ignore? Our downloads section is one of the most, if not the most, extensive collection of modifications for Grand Theft Auto IV and Episodes from Liberty City. There is enough replay value in there to keep you playing into the next century if you so please.

LCPDFR 1.1 is the most stable version of LCPDFR we have ever released. Used properly, it won't cause any major crashes, other than crashes that can be attributed to nothing less than faults in the programming of the actual foundations, the game itself.

The development team consists of 3 people, 3 people that do not get paid and that do this for free out of the kindess of their hearts and a passion for GTA police modding. No one is forcing you to use our modification, feel free to boycott. But please, make sure you understand why we are developing LSPDFR instead of LCPDFR: There's not enough time, manpower may I even say, willpower. We have a brand new spanking game engine to play around with, there is no logical need to go back to GTA IV when we have GTA V.

If you are having issues with LCPDFR 1.1, feel free to post in our support section, but our decision to keep developing LSPDFR instead of LCPDFR is final. Good day :)

Nobody said anything about stopping the development of lspdfr, simply users are wondering if any future updates will be a thing (after the release of LSPDFR.). For one, it was never said by the Sam or LMS that they were going to cease doing anything with LCPDFR, it's very slim and they said they doubt it but that doesn't mean it's a 100% no.

There's just some people that enjoy GTAIV and LCPDFR due to the difference between IV and V. Just because you have the newest game doesn't mean the last one should be left in the dust, by all means keep developing LSPDFR and GTAV's engine but some people are just suggesting that smaller updates still be applied to the ones who still enjoy LCPDFR, such as bug fixes or small new features. I don't see why so many people are suddenly hating on IV ever since GTAV came out, obviously it was never a problem before.

A lot of people joined this community with tons of passion for LCPDFR and how great it was developed for GTAIV, but now that V is out people seem to just ditch IV and jump straight onto the next mod which in some people's eyes isn't as great or fun as iv. lspdfr may not be out yet but many people including myself dislike GTAV overall, I'm sure the mod will come out amazingly but the game its running on isnt so great.
