So I've noticed for one reason or another many of the new folks (but not all) we've got here are not quite understanding how this site works...

So in short....

Be patient, and try to be appreciative, and the devs will make you happy :)

They don't charge anything for their service, so complaints are not necessarily warranted.

The moderators aren't paid, so please take a moment to thank them for answering the same questions over and over (Thanks ineseri)

Also... Enjoy your time here, as most people on this site are very friendly and helpful, even when we have our occasional disagreements. Happy gaming to all :)

The police and wanted system in GTA V is terrible even compared to GTA IV considering police don't even arrest anymore they just shoot so the best of luck to ya', it's not going to be easy!

Thank you for the trailer. First thing that came to my mind was ":-) they spawned the stanier and the buffalo and not the ugly interceptor :-) :-) :-)".

I saw on gtaforums that you already have a helicopter responding too...pretty cool.

Did you manage to "port" something from GTA IV to GTA V or is it developing from "scratch"?

"Some say that the outline of his left nipple is exactly the same shape as the Nurburgring, and if you give him a really important job to do, he’ll skive off and play croquet."

The trailer looks so GOOD... But what date is it going to be released? Like in one month? One week? I am so excited about this.

This isn't strictly true. The Park Rangers arrest people during the random street events, however there isn't a cuffing animation. The suspect just gets down on his knees with his hands in the air before being walked at gunpoint into a prisoner transport vehicle (that the park ranger called in).

Why did Sam earlier said that cops always execute a suspect then? I'm a bit confused...

The arrest animation only happens during the street event, and only if you intervene and knock over the suspect.

Outside of those events, the officers will just execute them. Either Sam forgot about these events or it's not possible to access them within the code, which is why Sam said what he said. Regardless, there is definitely an arrest animation.

Whatever you guys have in store, looking forward to it.

And honestly, to the impatient, you've waited years for the PC version of GTA V. A little longer won't hurt.

Keep up the great work team.

A trailer showcasing animations doesn't make for very good viewing, especially not for a first reveal.  Was it a normal cop chase?  No, every entity involved in the pursuit except the player was spawned by and was under the control of LSPDFR.  GTA V doesn't dispatch the police buffalo or police cruisers in ambient chases.  It also doesn't dispatch additional units to the chase either.

Voiceovers?  No, all in-game audio.  Some of it from the AI, some from the player.

Is it, all in all, fairly basic compared to LCPDFR?  Absolutely, but what do you expect merely two weeks after the game was released?

Sorry to be picking on this, but does this mean that (compared to GTA IV) LSPDFR can take partial/complete control of the police units, meaning there might be a chance of no more police-derbies happening?

I haven't played GTA V yet, but the chase in the video looked reaaaally awesome because it wasn't a derby, I loved how the cop-cares just drove in a single file behind the suspect when he slowed down instead of just ramming all over the place! So I am positively suprised, the question is if this is native GTA V behavior or scripted by LSPDFR?

Adding to my other post, here's a video I recorded of the event a few minutes ago.

Thanks, I remember those events now. Sam mentioned an arrest command, which AI still disobeys. Maybe it's only active in those side missions? Let's see what the devs say then :)

Mhm, this does is exist, but only in two locations under entirely scripted circumstances.  When we think of an arrest, generally we think of it in the GTA IV context where the police in the game would arrest peds that attacked them or started fighting in front of them, etc.  The key thing there is that it was an entirely dynamic and native behaviour - it could happen any time, any place.

There are, as far as I know, only four circumstances in which peds can be 'arrested' in GTA V:

  • Poppy, after her car chase, from the paparazzi missions.
  • Amanda shoplifting
  • The Park Ranger arrest in Grapeseed
  • The other Park Ranger arrest near the windfarm.

In all of these cases, they are entirely scripted events, almost like cutscenes.  Indeed, you don't actually see Amanda getting arrested - she's always being put in the back of the car as you arrive, and Poppy's arrest is one single animation requiring the ped to be sitting on the road, and a car parked in an exact position ahead of them - hardly usable for any practical purposes.  Yes, the park ranger arrest stuff might be usable, there are indeed some separate animations there, but there isn't any of the stuff that people have come to know and expect from LCPDFR.

When I say cops in GTA V don't arrest - that is entirely correct.  In these cases, they are not cops, but spawned mission characters assigned special animations.  If you placed an actual cop beside the park ranger during this arrest, chances are they would just ignore it - as far as they're concerned, its just some peds doing animations.

While this is true, I've been arrested as Trevor several times and once as Franklin. Hell I even had three stars as Trevor. A Sheriff wielding a Shotgun has always arrested me as Trevor and an LSPD Officer also wielding a Shotgun arrested me as Franklin. Not sure if any of this is relevant or helps but if it does..... :)

We're talking about cops arresting peds, not players.  Arresting the player isn't much use to you from an LCPDFR/LSPDFR standpoint, unless you want the screen to fade out with the "BUSTED" text on it when you arrest someone and have that ped respawn at the police station.

Really? all i asked is for a rough estimate which they can not provide at this time. This is fine. Although i was just curious. I was not rushing him. I am not trying to. He can take as long as he wants. Just look at GTA V PC. Took a long ass time to arrive but it runs awesome. Asking for a rough estimate is different then asking for a release date. A rough estimate can be the span of a few months or something vague like that. Not a certain date.

I don't want to turn this into a quarrel so if you want to further up on my statement Ringo, please PM me.

AS others have said  you don't ever ask when will it be done 1.) they will feel rushed in a way 2.)  ITS DONE WHEN ITS DONE
