He clearly stated that when he is in the game his ELS doesn't work. I'm not going to be rude but you need to read through all of the answers before commenting.

  • Right, and one of the reasons why ELS might not work is because of a mis placed file, like an .asi loader, and that's what I'm trying to find out.

No that's wrong. He already said he setup ELS right, he already watched like 2 tutorials so that is not the problem. The ASI loader is probably the first thing he put in.

Okay, I have tried everything, but ELS STILL wont work!

Have you figured it out yet?

Let's not complicate this any more.

(1) Install GTA IV (Or copy a fresh back up if you have one).

(2) Next install ELS 8.5 into the correct directory.

(3) Install 1 ELS car of your choice for the police or police2 slot.

(4) Launch GTA IV

(5) Hop into your police car and hit [J] Key.

(6) Report your result here.

(2) Next install either a .asi loader (dsound.dll), like this one  or   xliveless (Note: with xliveless, you can no longer play in MP) .

(3) Next install ELS 8.5 into the correct directory.

(4) Install 1 ELS car of your choice for the police or police2 slot.

(5) Launch GTA IV

(6) Hop into your police car and hit [J] Key.

(7) Report your result here.

I wrote a step in your list that you forgot.

Also, make sure you have the pre-requisites, like .Net Framework 4, & Visual C++ (2008, 2010, & 2012. Including all Service Packs).

If my post made you laugh (or giggle) in any way, smash that blue grey "Like this" button & like it

Your ELS installation files and your ELS folder (including dsoud, scripthook and advanced hook) all need to go inside the GTAIV folder. The common folder can also be moved inside the GTAIV folder (the same directory that has the GTA4.exe) and the visualsettings.dat go in the following directory:

GTAIV/common/data
