It's because the AJAX request worked, it stored your vote up but didn't return back properly (maybe bad internet or bad formatting), but it's there :)

Could you maybe do a detailed description on how to set up a multiplayer session as a host and client with pictures or a video? I find it quite hard to do that because I always think one little mistake destroys everything...
