Allow choice of Police forces

Featured Replies

HI, having spent best part of 3 weeks, getting this to run, with a British mod pack, I find that it runs for about 15-20mins then crashes. So annoying. I have everything I need, and I suspect the fact is that I am technically modding a Mod? Its great to have you home force on the screen, but I have just re-installed the original Lcpdfr pack, and it has been running for the last 1hour without fault. There are no problems I can see with it. I love the Idea of having ELS and nice looking cars but really for playability the original is still best.

So in future realeases is it possible to have a choice some different simple cars?  perhaps someone has some? I really think most of the problem is ELS V8?

It's certainly possible to pick and choose your police forces from mods here on LCPDFR and on other modding sites. Just google something like: GTAIV british police cars - and there will be a good choice of cars.

When you install car mods you are not "modding a mod." The car models have nothing to do with LCPDFR, you are just installing another mod in addition to LCPDFR. LCPDFR is a script mod for GTA IV, and car mods are model mods for GTA IV. The more mods you install, the more likely you are to crash.

I've done just that, my point is with what I've read on other posts, Els makes gta 4 unstable as it's pushing the boundaries too far? What I want to find is an English pack or car that'll run without Els?

Without going too far off topic, can the cars already in lcpdfr be modified without all the Els stuff?

LCPDFR does not include any cars, and yes you can download non-ELS vehicles which will decrease the amount of crashes (in my opinion).

Just google gta iv non-els police vehicles. However I'm not sure that there's any non els british cars out there.

You can also modify existing vehicles, but they need to be unlocked models for you to edit them in zmodeler and replace the els lighting with original non-els lighting, and of course you need to know how to actually use Zmodeler since it is rather complicated.

Here is a non-els collection thread:

Here's a non ELS British police van by Kinksta100

Have a look on his channel and on Britishpolicemods channel, they might have some non els stuff there too.

thanks, found that on you tube this morning. Will look at British police mods.com too. DD has got back to me and suggested using Els V7?

That might work, it's worth a try. What I've found out in my years of modding GTA 4 is that it is like fingerprints. Everyone's copy is different, for some people ELS V7 doesn't work at all, for others it's more stable than ELS V8, there are many vehicles that just don't work for my copy of GTA 4, even though they work fine for most other people, so, if you have an idea, try it, because GTA 4 is so unstable and unpredictable that it might just work.

I've never had a ELS unless it was a bad acr, a bad .ini, or I flatout did something wrong.

Let's not forget that GTA IV is unstable as heck, even without modding it.

Cheers.

I take your point but with just the base LCPDFR installed it runs for hours, no crashes... Substantial evidence I know, but it work for me in real life...LOL
