About the next version of LCPDFR...

Featured Replies

Is there any guarantee that the next version of LCPDFR will be... How can I say this, less crashy-crashy, and more play? The amount of errors I've been getting even after a reinstall, and isolating the mod from any other mods is ridiculous. Seems difficult to play for more than 2 hours without something messing up.

I realize it's no easy task, and I really appreciate all the time put into it. I enjoy the mod thoroughly when it works. I'm just worried about how buggy the next version will be, and what random bugs we'll encounter then. Please know that I am in no way complaining. I'm just a little afraid of knowing that there's a possibility it may never work right. That's to say I am excited for the next version, though.

Just wish there wasn't so much that could go wrong! *points at Rockstar* :whistling:

Generally speaking when you release an update, you fix bugs and add content. (more than likely in that order too).

So yes, any new version of LCPDFR will attempt to improve the stability of the game for you, there is only so much they can do though. So if I were you I would get used to the fact it will never be perfect.

Also, don't be worried about any new versions being buggy. Chances are there will be bugs that have gone unnoticed. These bugs get reported, and if possible fixed. Remember in 1.0a, pressing the key for the different light modes crashed the game? Fixed in 1.0b. :)

It's quite possible that the next version will be for V, though. If it is, there may well be more bugs than in the version for IV, but that's just because it'd be on a new game that we don't have as much experience with.

Even if GTA V is a completely new game with muuuuuuuuch more things to do, I know you're going to do it well till all bugs are terminated.lol

GTA V is on the same engine upgraded, honestly it maybe as simple as re-creating a few things and DSOUND.dll kinda' thing for GTA V, and updating abit of the code and so on, or it may need a total re-write.

It does run on the same engine, but a lot has been redone. Let's just hope modding the game won't be too difficult!

Much easier said than done.

And to the OP;

Any major modification to a video game is going to have bugs that crash the game. Just remember: you are adding brand new code to the game to do things the game was never meant to do, therefore it is going to cause problems.

Just make sure to make your subject something along the lines of what you are looking/asking for.

Hey, making it to 2 hours is VERY GOOD in my opinion.  My game usually lasts no longer than about 30-40 minutes.  An hour if I'm lucky (or I'm just driving around lol).

Guess I should consider myself lucky then! I don't know how much hair I would pull out of my head if I could only play for 30 minutes, out of frustration.

Yeah, majority of people can only play for 20 mintues (even less) so you should consider yourself lucky that you can go for 2 hours.. before i upgraded my PC and changed my mods i could barely do 15 minutes before a crash.

I doubt it. 1.0d has already been announced and one of the features revealed in an announcement. To be honest I'm not on the hype train for V, mainly because I hate the games new physics system. Soft body physics were amazing in IV, even the cars don't get dented as much only scratched,

not only that but V just doesn't feel like a GTA game to me. I don't know why. Everything is just...too fast paced or something, like when your wanted, the new solid police cars (Which have pretty boring liveries) just ram the shit out of your car over and over again.

I'll probably still try whatever comes out on V, but I'm not hyped for it as much as everyone else.
