100% yes. Fighting for your country is more than fighting a politicians war, it's about being willing to lay down your life so people who have done so much for you(mother, father, spouse, children etc) may continue to live theirs as you have been able to live yours. 

There isn't a doubt in my mind if my family or friends were in danger, or we were called to defend our freedoms I would happily lay my life down for theirs.

Now that I think about it, if the country were in need of men and women to fight the war, they could always use the national guard, if I'm correct, the total population of the national guard here in America is six million.

We Swedes may not have the biggest army, navy and air force, but I would sure as hell step up and fight for my country if I had too.

Yes, I may just be 13, and i may not be in great shape, but i would still do whatever it takes.

 

ISIL is a danger to the peaceful society today, and I wouldn't be afraid of shooting them if they come here, and invading a peaceful country.

I would do the thing everyone should do if their country gets invaded - Grab the gun and unsafe it. Cock it, and then wait until the extreme Islamist or Russians comes. 

I'm surprised no one mentioned it earlier, but what in the case it's an allied country that gets invaded or attacked? For example, according to NATO treaties, if a country member gets attacked or invaded, other nations are -forced- to help them. So, if the US were attacked, would a european citizen help? And in the opposite way, if a EU country was attacked, would a US citizen help?

Even more interesting, if some weaker NATO members were attacked (say Latvia, Estonia, etc) by the scary russian bear for example, would France, Germany, Britain step in? And I mean the actual military involvement, not just economical sanctions.

Hot topic, ofcourse I would. However as normal person, only if it was a state of emergency. Besides that my Future DO license will make sure Im not put on infantry duty.

I think what he means by America being the worlds police is that when something happens, the US is usually willing to step in and do something to help. Don't quote me on this though, because this isn't always the case.

no. don't really love my counrty anyway... seriously though, i respect the military but i would not join them

Hmmm..... depends really. If the British Army gets new weapons instead of those SA-80's maybe. I used one when I was a cadet and they aren't the best thought of guns. 

 

But it all really depends on the situation, if the country is being invaded then hell yeah, but if its just going over to some country which poses little or no threat at all, then I wouldn't see the point in getting killed for that cause.
