  • Just to let everyone know, we will be working on this as a team, all of us, after the release of 0.95, which won't be too far away.

  • The possibilities offered by this are only really restricted in terms of how much I can code in. Basically, you have a system where you are just drawing lights at a position within the game, so the t

really? r u sure of that. have u tested it before because in my mind it seems pretty logical

I never did get the chance to use illumination, no door bug? no indestructible car bug?

I had the original file until one of my HDDs failed. Anyhow, to answer your question the mod had very few negatives

Something else to think about as a "nice" feature but I just watched the latest SoCal Police Pursuit video and at 3:30 when the CHP officer opens his door, his light bar went solid. This must be a new thing for CHP because I haven't seen this happen before. Maybe in pursuit mode when the siren stops when the door they have it so the light bar can go to a certain pattern. Either way, thought I would pass it along as a nice to have and certainly not on my list (if you cared) as a must have!

All their slicktops and the Whelen Liberty bars do this. When the vehicle is in "Code 3" mode all forward facing lights turn solid when the vehicle is put in park.

I did believe in the illumination mod by Sam from the first version I saw a year of 2 back. It had potential but Sam did not work on it any further in favor of the ELS system. So I'm glad he decided to to bring it back to live. In this clip on youtube from the first version you can see the potential!

I like the idea of the ini file, where we can edit the position of the lights to fit all cars. Car modders can put in there readme files the correct information. Like in the good old days where modders did that for handling and such. It also gives the users a nice and simple way to edit to there own tast.

Some sugestions for the new version (2.0) I'm thinking out loud:

Easy way to edit:

  • - Positions of every light (X, Y and Z axis)
  • - Shape of the lights (round, square, oblong, ...)
  • - Size of the lights (LxW or diameter)
  • - Colour of the lights (red, blue, white, yellow, orange, ...)
  • - Type of light (LED, halogen, ... goes to light intensity)

For playing

  • - Sepreted keys for main lights, secondary lights, takedown lights, traffic advisor lichts, ...
  • - Diffrent flash patterns and a way to edit the speed and set up a default patren for a car
  • - More ELS stuff, ELS is not that bad at all, but had some drawbacks
  • - More control over the lights, I don't want my takedowns flashing al the time....
  • - ...

Just thinking out loud here. Don't mean any disrespect or anything with this.

If I'm also not mistaken, it most also be possible with illumination to make direction indicator lights (turn signals) not?

I wonder if there is the chance of an in-game edit function. It'd be great to move around the lights while you play and save them to an ini file, instead of relying on trial and error and having to exit and relaunch the game over and over.

Either way, it'll be great to get to use this mod.

You should be able to just edit the .ini and then use the "reloadscripts" command in the console to reload it.

I didn't even think that was possible with the game running, thanks for the tip.
