I had to laugh at this comment in that link you posted... "where Putin showed up accompanied by four menacing Russian warships"  He showed up with one destroyer, a medical frigate, a tanker (to refuel his 'menacing warships' and a frigging tug boat, all of which was accompanied by half of the Australian Navy. Really not that menacing!

Do you have a desire to die somewhere in the Eastern Europe fighting for a small, poor, f*cked-up piece of land that really nobody cares about? It ain't even Nam or Korea. And now, when Republicans rise to power, they might help Ukraine with their war against terrorists, and that actually matters.

I think the russians are a bit mad, but not stupid. A world war seems unlikely, even though tensions are high.

I read it in an article in the New Yorker, I have no idea whether it is true or not but it sure as hell explains why most of the world leaders left early including Putin who left just after lunch when there was another round of meetings supposed to take place. It just explains a few things but hey who knows for real what actually happened.

Easy to say when it's not happening in your area. I'd like to point out that Europe is between the US and Russia, and I personally don't want to be bombed or caught between two fires because you 'muricans decided to drop some deadly freedom when a conflict can be solved peacefully.

Since when do the Russians or any other Dictator type Governments want to resolve things peacefully? I read in an article today that the Russians are constantly flying dangerously close to NATO airspace and have been diverted by NATO Forces more times this year than since the Cold War ended 20 years ago. If that tells us anything it's that they don't want to do things peacefully. From my point of view it seems they want to keep testing NATO until the leaders finally get sick of it and force a confrontation. 

Every country leader in the world gets pissed off about the smallest things nowadays, so it's possible for a World War III.. Whether it be against Russia and another country or could be caused by a completely different country.. Who knows, but the way leaders and even politicians are acting, i wouldn't be suprised.

 

Look at Australia, our PM made comments about the Russians shooting the MH17 plane down, Putin got mad and put 4 ships just outside Australian waters.. the smallest and most stupidest comment could be made and BOOM World War III happens.

NATO was doing the same during the Cold War, breaking USSR border and all. It ended up with the USSR dissolving itself. 

 

Cmon, gentlemen, wars are bad for business. Putin and all his friends have kids studying in your schools, have relatives living in Europe, preserve their money in U.S. dollars. Even that BRICS bank has its funds in American money.
