Ku Klux Klan Targeted By Anonymous

The KKK should be eliminated.

They should be, but because of the First Amendment, they can never really be eliminated. If anyone tries to take any sort of legal action against them about their beliefs, nothing will really happen. Any such action can be taken to the Supreme Court, and as wrong as it may be morally, get overturned and deemed unconstitutional. Same goes for the Westboro Baptist Church; both groups are protected with their actions and whatnot because of that First Amendment. it's shitty, but we can't really do anything sadly.

The KKK are completely entitled to their beliefs, and honestly, if they were confined to simply leading protests and stating their opinions, there would basically be no problem. The right to free speech is guaranteed to them by the American Constitution. It's when they start to threaten, attack, and lynch people that action needs to be taken.

And this is where specific circumstances play a large role. I've seen KKK groups that simply believed in a "Separate but equal" society, and others where members were shouting belligerency and racial slurs through a microphone in public. I do believe that everyone is entitled to their own beliefs, even if those beliefs are clearly wrong and illogical. In my opinion, the first amendment also gives people the right to be stupid in public. Even if the KKK leads peaceful protests, they will always face counter-protests and hate. Their ideologies are what keep society bitterly separated, there will always be a problem so long as they are still in existence. The KKK killed a total of 3,446 Blacks as of 2012, and 1,247 Whites. People aren't just going to let this statistic drop, especially Blacks.
