Let's keep it civil. 2 Posts has been hidden, as I have no need to wake up and see people instigating a fight over a video game. It's Sunday people, let's try enjoying it before Monday is here again, and we can do that without fighting.

By all means, go ahead and try to make a police game. No one would really oppose it, but I don't think you can name it "LCPDFR" or something similar. Try to read this too: https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Making_a_Mod. It's about how to build and use a team, it can be applied to most development groups even though this one is more angled towards the source engine and a mod of a larger scale.

I also have to agree with Ben here, there's been quite a few projects like this, people coming through promising great things and then going to complete silence. Disappears off the site, so you should understand our frustration when a topic like this is created. It's not a bad idea, it's just that we've had bad experiences regarding this kind of thing.

Well we are not really promising great things... We are only trying.

Regarding my last post, Sorry if i came out mean.

Back on topic... I Know there have been several projects like this..

The OP contacted me and asked if i could help make a map, We are not really trying to recruit anyone or anything of that sort... I Believe he was just asking if he should make an attempt.

We have formed a small team.. And we will attempt to make something relevant to a "Police Simulator"

We are not showing ourselves off saying we have 10 million dollars towards the game, as police 10-13 said.

I Will form another post in the future if this gets anywhere. If not, Then i will not even mention this again.

Because i get quite angry when someone does things like this, But does not go along with there words.

There are way to many attempts at these "Police simulators" Let's hope we or someone else can make one.

Thank you.

Right, but right there is the problem "I Will form another post in the future if this gets anywhere. If not, Then i will not even mention this again." A post has been made, a small premise has been set. Now we're waiting for results, we don't want to wait for nothing, like with all other projects like this.

Since I supposedly  post things too antagonizing for this thread , I'll sugar coat my points, and put a cherry on top for you.

1) A lot of very nice people have announced this before, and very little have shown any progress.

2) I still don't understand why people come here to see if the community wants a game, out of the blue. Do it for yourself not just for those on this site.

3) saying you gave up on a previous project because it disinterested you, tends to be a rather negative way to introduce a game.

*But keep up the good work, guys!!!!!!!!

*Maybe there's sarcasm, maybe not.

Really?

Whatever.

I Did not start the post, so i have no idea why he posted here.

But as i said before, Not sure why you have to be like that about it.

His original post literally said, can i make this?

Not... "WANT TO SEE THIS NEW GAME I'M MAKING!!??!?!?"

apparently... You can't tell the difference.

He asked for permission to use LCPDFR's idea.

Obviously that's fine, but it was better to ask and be safe then not to at all, Right?

Now, If you don't have anything supportive to say... Then why bother? I Don't go on miley cyrus videos and complain about how i hate her so much... So why do you post here about how you hate his idea?

I Will never know.....

Ineseri, May you hide any off topic posts if you can....Thanks.

I Know... I See your point very clearly.

But i did not start this post or even make a promise.

He only asked me for help, so i said yes.

I Would honestly hate to see this one go down the drain as well. I'll try to prevent that... As i know it just is stupid to make that kind of post then abandon, when people expect more.

Thanks.

If you're looking to add to your "Portfolio" for game development i think something more Original would be more beneficial I Don't think any of the big game Dev company's are clamoring for the Next Police sim game..  and also isn't there a Police simulation Stand alone that's coming that is fairly far along?  i'm not saying don't do it or anything like that  but i think if this is simply to build your "Portfolio"  you should invest your time on ideas no one else has thought of..

HAVE A QUESTION OR A REQUEST? MESSAGE ME I'M HAPPY TO HELP

Well now we have an experienced team.

Starting soon, We just need someone who can do animations.. And someone who can scratch model.

Everything else is handled

I know scratch-modeling (and no, I'm not a novice modeling lightbars and minor police equipment), I know texturing, I know lighting, a little bit of rigging, animation and composting and more than enough photo and video editing skills. Just PM me with your plans and I might hop on board.

Well may I personally suggest that in the off chance that this project is cancelled (I really hope not) that you at least put up another post (though I realize you're not the one who started this one) stating that this is the case so we're not just left in the dark? I really hope to see some updates from you because.... Call me crazy but...... This one does seem promising. Either way good luck!

Well i have experience with making a game, have been a project leader myself, i can do almost everything except for programming in C# C++ and .net other then that, a team of 4-5 people is enough to make a good game, also, 1000 dollar is enough to start the first fundings, includes advertisement and website.

You also got allot of options for engines, unity, Cry Engine. Unreal which are free to use for non commercial, but once you got a good working concept out allot of people would want to pay for it and then the team can afford to buy a engine.

I'd recommend you, if the team is listening
