Need help with SNT

Featured Replies

So I have been having problems lately with the Simple Native trainer. Basically I have to push the F3 button a lot of times for SNT menu to pop up. and every button is the same. It's like on a delay or something. I notice that there is text on the bottom of the screen that says "No valid Object". I assume this means that somehow I keep pushing a button to initiate this text, however I have looked through the entire .ini file and nothing related to this is in there(at least that I can tell) that I can remove. Also, sometimes when I push the numpad select key when I select an option, I always spawn a bodyguard-type ped, anywhere from 1-4 peds each time I select an option. Worse, I can't push that button too much because if I spawn too many peds without killing them GTA IV will crash.

By the way this happens almost every time. Probably 1 out of 10 times SNT will start normally without these.

Can anyone offer any help? I've tried re-installing scripthook and SNT several times and they always never help. I remove the spawn objects lines in the .ini but they never work either.

Would love ideas on how to fix this. Thanks for your help!

Anyone else have any advice that I can try?

Maybe you have too many other functions for those specific keys? Check all of your other mods/ scripts to see if you have that same key in set to do other stuff. Also, if you go to the GTA pause menu and then controls, and I think it's called keyboard settings, check that also to see if you have those keys in there as well.

If that stuff doesn't work I would try deleting all of the extra SNT files and re-installing SNT fresh.

Also, what are your PC specs? You mentioned that you have to hit the keys multiple times for them to work and like it's on a delay. Maybe your game is slow and your computer can't handle it extra stuff on GTA like that.

These are all I can think of. I'm no expert, just giving some advice that I think may help if you haven't tried it already.

I have an Asus laptop, I bought it specifically for gaming - it can handle pretty high-end gaming very well, but here's my specs:

Intel Core i5 -3230M CPU @ 2.60 GHz

Installed Memory: 8.00 GB

System type: 64-bit OS, 64 bit based operating processor

I have tried re-installing SNT but that hasn't worked, as it can still spawn peds whenever I press SNT enter.

Thanks for the advice, I will try it soon.

Just figured out what's causing the problem of the delay in the keyboard responsiveness in the SNT menu: it's not the SNT, but the game itself. Sometimes when the game loads when I want to turn right or left in the game it takes several seconds for it to respond to my keyboard. Anybody here know how to solve this? I'm using the latest patch, 1.0.7.0

Probably to high of graphic settings for your PC to handle and its lagging. Try turning down the graphics little by little until you get to a setting that works well for you

Sorry it took so long to get back. I tried reducing settings, but alas, it didn't work.

Sometimes when I enable keys my car drives in reverse, hitting and crashing into everything in my path and will never let me drive normally unless I disable the keys.

Any other ideas or am I stuck because of the crap port that GTA is?

What FPS are you getting? It could be your game is lagging and it reflects on the SNT being slow

Causing Chaos since 2006

Here is something else you can try.

1. Go into your Trainer.ini file. (In your GTA directory)

2. Go up to Edit and click "Find".

3. Type in "keybindingsdisabled" and click find. (without quotations)

4. If it is set to 0 set it to 1.

5. Save an exit.

This pretty much disabled the keys on startup so you don't have to do it every time you go in game.

Nope, just tried it again, and unfortunately that didn't do the trick either. The annoying stuff came back.

Just tried uninstalling LCPDFR and that didn't work. Thought that perhaps a configuration had been conflicted between the trainer and FR but no, sadly.

So right now I just have to hope that I have good luck every time the game loads so that I can enjoy the SNT the way I want to.

Oh, and for those wondering, I use the Speed Up key, my favorite in the trainer, but I cannot edit the code in the trainer unfortunately.

One more edit: Any chance the SNT is different when ran via the launchGTA.exe vs GTAIV.exe?

This may be a stupid suggestion, but have you tried running the game as an admin, I had a similar problem before where I had to press my keys multiple times to get snt to work, and after I did, it worked just fine.... like I said, just a thought :)

Tried that a few times and unfortunately no luck.

I think it's just cuz I'm running GTA on a laptop and it might be different vs the desktop.

that also could be a possibility, ok, here's another question, are you using the version of snt that's for laptops, or the one for a desktop, because I do believe there are different versions

The laptop one takes into account 'Fn' keys & their state. And also changes all the NumPad keys to keyboard.

So, if you're using your laptop keyboard, it's highly recommended you use the laptop version.

If, like me, you're using an external keyboard on your laptop, desktop version will work fine.
