Minority Majority In The UK

I did not say that Bulgarian immigrants bring malaria - I said that they have contributed to the rapid spread of AIDS and that further spread of TB, HIV, and Malaria have been a result of immigration as a whole mostly from middle eastern countries and those from Africa.

I still don't understand why you are continuing to dispute overpopulation - it has been a recognised problem within Britain for decades and legislation is continually changing to reduce the problem. Immigration does add to this problem in already stressed areas and has done for many years.

I'm not disputing that overpopulation is a prominent issue in this country. However, it is known that housing is becoming less and less because of our expanding population and lack of wanting to expand cities. Immigrants aren't the main problem anywhere. The natural increase in our population and lack of construction is. If anything, a large amount of immigrants end up in poverty or living rough as they can't find work or housing.

I love how several people have jumped on the "I'm not against immigration but it annoys me that they come over here and sponge off benefits".

So surely then you should also be annoyed by the large number of people in the UK who are claiming benefits for no reason, having too many kids that they can't control just for the government income and then those kids end up being raised very badly, turn to crime and other negative activities and eventually end up just like their parents, complaining that it was all the immigrant's fault.

People always bitch that they steal our jobs. If every hard working indian person quit their job now as taxi drivers, delivery truck drivers, factory workers. All the low wage paying, long hour jobs, I bet not a single benefit claiming white UK citizen would get up off the benefits and take that job. Instead they would say "I don't want that job" despite the fact they have no education to get a better paying one.

And lastly, a lot of our population from different ethnic backgrounds are rightful UK citizens. A lot of them born here just like you. And don't put the immigrants down either, they want to become a UK citizen they have to take a test with questions that I'm certain the majority of the UK wouldn't actually know the answers to, so who deserves to be a citizen really?

My point being, don't isolate those who come from a different ethnic background and perceive them to be bad people just because of what you see on the news.

The problem with the UK is the way in which our society still bends over backwards for religion.  One of the hot topics recently has been about schools in Birmingham, the second largest city in the UK, where its alleged that there were plans in some schools for an 'Islamic take over'.  There were some reports of teachers being fired for being the 'wrong gender', and supposedly boys and girls in the schools were being separated and put into same sex classes.  I think at one of the schools as well the signage was primarily in Arabic as well - something which the media loved.

Its not about one religion though, the same thing happens in the UK with 'faith schools' which are allowed to teach their religion exclusively and still operate as a normal school (the majority are Christian, and according to David Cameron, the UK is a Christian country).   I don't think this is something which should be promoted in the modern world really.  Ideally religion need only be taught in a class dedicated to it, much in the same way that everything else is taught (e.g. teaching geography in geography class), and schools shouldn't be allowed to pick and choose what religions they teach.  Regardless, in the UK, its far too easy to get off the hook with a lot of things that would be otherwise illegal or morally unacceptable by playing the religion card.  For instance its illegal in the UK to slaughter animals without stunning them first which apparently is a more humane way of doing things.  Islam and Judaism (and possibly other regions?) don't allow for this though, and demand that the animal be slaughtered alive by being beheaded.  It is a pretty gross process as far as I understand.  Of course, while this is illegal under UK law, there is for some unknown reason an exception based on religious grounds which basically means you can break the law in the name of religion.

Its important to understand as well that while you might argue that something like that is no big deal for the majority of people that oppose halal/kosher slaughter as they can simply choose not to eat it, its not that simple.  If you're selling meat, you don't want to have to pay for two different slaughter processes when you can just pay for one.  Therefore they pay for halal meat as it appeals to the lowest common denominator (non Muslims can still eat it, whereas Muslims can't eat non halal meat).  This results in quite a lot of meat in the UK which is sold being halal slaughtered as (as far as I know) you don't have to say it on the packaging (it might be hidden away on a website somewhere), so they simply create two brands (one halal, one 'normal'), but use the same meat for both.  This effectively results in the beliefs of the few being forced on the many - which is the problem of religion in the 21st century.

Let people come to the UK, let people practice their religions in the UK, but don't let them force it on others, and don't give any religion special treatment or a place in the law.

"You tell me exactly what you want, and I will very carefully explain to you why it cannot be."

Let people come to the UK, let people practice their religions in the UK, but don't let them force it on others, and don't give any religion special treatment or a place in the law.

Took the conclusion straight out of my keyboard.

A good example is I hear now that Religious Education (R.E. or R.S. - Religious Studies) has become mandatory again for 'Citizenship' lessons in schools and many have to take an exam, despite not taking the actual subject of Religious Studies at GCSE, therefore being automatically entered into a short course process for the R.E. examination. Where as when they chose which courses to select they had the choice not to choose R.E. and they wouldn't hear of such a subject again, but they did.

So basically people who didn't want to choose R.E. for a course in secondary education have then been forced automatically into a short course for an R.E. exam, and they must study it in their citizenship lessons.

That is, without doubt, forcing religious beliefs on others.

I'm not a racist, but when someone comes to our country and sponges off the government it angers me. What also angers me is that fact people bring over their ways and try to force it onto us (just read the news about the schools in Birmingham and Muslim extremists, and about halal meat).

Our governments a complete wreck though. We accept anyone into our country for whatever reason and the government seem to keep accepting people into the country even though we can't build enough homes for those people, but, they also seem to be pushing British folk out the way for them.

Exactly. It's not anything to do with race or racism, it's the fact that we just cannot maintain housing, health & other requirements for people coming into this country.

And with the pushing the British folk out of the way, it's like trying to jam more jigsaw pieces into a puzzle that's already complete, but as a result of doing so, pushing the already fitting pieces out of the way and damaging them.

Please be ware I am not at all racist, I have friends, associates & family members from all over the place of various different backgrounds.
